Liberals like AOC are saying the quiet part out loud now: They want to use force and the strong arm of government to force their ideals on everyone. And it appears they don't mind bloodshed to do it.
In a culture that constantly bombards us with unrealistic ideals—perfect marriages, flawless friendships, effortless success, and picture-perfect lifestyles—many Christians find themselves exhausted by unattainable expectations. Misplaced expectations can steal our joy, but biblical contentment and gratitude can restore it. Join Josh as he gives a talk from his upcoming book, Elusive Expectations: Living Free from the Tyranny of Unattainable Ideals.
Let's look at the actual math: a massive new study analyzed nearly 800,000 professional modeling photos from the last 25 years, and the data proves that the industry's "body-positive" shift is mostly a mirage. While brands love to post plus-size models for clout, the actual median waist size for models has stayed locked at a tiny 23–24 inches (60–61 cm) since 2000.Even the "plus-size" models being cast are *still* way smaller and leaner than the average American woman. Basically, the industry is using a few token outliers to look progressive, while the actual, everyday standard for high fashion hasn't shifted even a little bit. There is a huge disconnect happening on TikTok and Instagram right now, where a lot of modern women are genuinely falling for the delusion that the game has changed. Because we see a few curve models on our feeds, there's this belief that society has completely rewritten what it finds conventionally attractive. But the data shows that's a total cap.The delusion is thinking that corporate marketing campaigns equal real-world attraction. Brands like Savage X Fenty or Dove didn't launch "inclusive" campaigns because they wanted to change the laws of human biology; they did it because inclusivity sells products to the average consumer. Some women have internalized this corporate validation so deeply that they expect the entire, hardwired framework of conventional beauty—which for thousands of years has biologically linked certain proportions to youth and health—to shift just because a brand changed its billboard. We've confused *feeling good in our own skin* (which is awesome and necessary) with *changing what the world considers a high-fashion ideal*. When women get mad that the world isn't celebrating an average or above-average physique as the new peak of conventional attractiveness, they are fighting biology with internet trends. The most empowering thing you can do is unplug from the delusion. Stop waiting for a fundamentally exclusive industry to validate your real-world body. Once you realize that the "inclusive shift" is just a corporate aesthetic designed to get your data and your cash, you can stop holding yourself to a standard that was never real in the first place.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/depraved-and-debaucherous--5267208/support.Contact KOP for professional podcast production, imaging, and web design services at http://www.kingofpodcasts.comSupport KOP by subscribing to his YouTube channel and search for King Of PodcastsFollow KOP on X and TikTok @kingofpodcasts (F Meta!)Listen to KOP's other programs, Podcasters Row… and the Wrestling is Real Wrestling Podcast and The Broadcasters Podcast.Buy KOP a Coffee https://buymeacoffee.com/kingofpodcastsDrop KOP a PayPal https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=3TAB983ZQPNVLDrop KOP a Venmo https://account.venmo.com/u/kingofpodcastsDrop KOP a CashApp https://cash.app/$kingofallpodcasts

12. Why Post-Liberalism Historically and Politically Fails Guest: Thomas Howes Summary: Howes explains that post-liberal movements often fail because their chosen leaders prioritize power over the movement's ideals. Historically, these intellectual elites are frequently marginalized or "thrown under the bus" by the systems. 121870

It’s easy, in this 250th Anniversary year of the Declaration of Independence, to find things that divide Americans. But best-selling author Colin Woodard says we’re still bound together as a people by the ideals of our founding.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Truth, Justice, and the Way - Episode 9: When Ideals Fall Short: Superman, Racism, and the Stories We TellIn this episode of Truth, Justice, and the Way: Superman and Spirituality, we examine the tension between the ideals we claim and the ways we sometimes fail to live them out—both in the world of Superman and in our own lives. Together, we explore how the history of DC Comics reflects both harmful racial stereotypes and meaningful attempts at justice, and how those same contradictions can be found in our faith communities and personal experiences. Rather than pointing fingers, we reflect on the shared human tendency to fall short of our highest values—and the invitation to grow, to name what's broken, and to move toward something better with humility, courage, and compassion.Listeners are encouraged to write in with thoughts, stories, or reflections through Substack, email (rick@rickleejames.com), or Twitter (SupermanAlways aka @RickLeeJames4). Casimir Pulaski gave his life for American liberty, and his story reveals the true cost of independence. In this episode of the America's Founding Series, Professor Nick Giordano explores the remarkable life of Casimir Pulaski, a Polish nobleman and "Father of the American Cavalry" who crossed an ocean to fight for a country that was not his own. From his daring charge that saved George Washington at Brandywine to his ultimate sacrifice at the Siege of Savannah, Pulaski's journey reminds us that America was founded not on bloodlines, but on an idea. Discover why an exile with no home became one of the Revolution's most vital leaders, and why his story is a haunting warning to an era that often takes its inherited freedoms for granted. What You'll Learn: The Making of a Soldier: How Pulaski's struggle against Russian tyranny in Poland prepared him for the American Revolution. Saving Washington: The tactical brilliance that prevented a catastrophe at the Battle of Brandywine. Building the Cavalry: Why Pulaski's Legion was the precursor to modern special forces. George Wright III explains the power of “dream building” as the starting point of all success, arguing that success is the progressive realization of a worthwhile dream and that the vividness and clarity of a dream determine motivation, faith, and belief. Referencing James Allen's As a Man Thinketh (chapter six, “Visions and Ideals”), he emphasizes that people become what they think about and that “dream lofty dreams” because every achievement begins as a dream. He shares a personal story of becoming a young husband and father of twins at 17 and relying on his vision to push through financial struggle. Wright teaches that successful people don't ask for smaller problems; they build bigger dreams, citing Dexter Yager's line, “If the dream's big enough, the facts don't count.” He recommends purposeful, scheduled daily visualization, getting interactive with dreams, and placing dream reminders everywhere.01:14 Lessons From As A Man Thinketh02:51 Dreams As Fuel04:06 Bigger Dreams Beat Obstacles05:27 What Dream Building Means05:54 Make It A Daily Ritual07:17 Get Interactive With Dreams07:47 Put Reminders Everywhere08:17 Final Quote And ChallengeThanks for listening, and Please Share this Episode with someone. Prince Hall believed in the American Revolution so deeply that he refused to let it fail. While Boston echoed with talk of liberty, he forced the new nation to confront its contradiction: slavery. This episode tells the story of Prince Hall, the Black patriot who used lawful civic action, Enlightenment philosophy, and institutional leadership to help end slavery in Massachusetts in 1783, years before the U.S. Constitution was ratified. His strategy was not chaos or rejection of the system. It was engagement, petition, and moral accountability. At a time when many would have turned away from the American experiment, Prince Hall invested in it and demanded it live up to its founding ideals. What You'll Learn How Prince Hall used the language of natural rights to challenge slavery in Massachusetts Why Black participation in the American Revolution created political leverage The role of the 1777 petition and the Massachusetts Constitution in ending slavery in 1783 How John Adams' "all men are born free and equal" became legally enforceable Why civic virtue, lawful engagement, and institutional pressure define true self-government Prince Hall did not burn down the American system. He held it accountable. His life demonstrates how self-government works when citizens understand both their rights and their responsibilities. For anyone who cares about the American founding, abolition, constitutional principles, and the meaning of liberty, this is a story that cannot be ignored.

Menzies led Australia for over half the decade, finally retiring in 1966 as our oldest prime minister. Suspicions are confirmed as our adventurers discover what has happened to their lost friends and targets. Poking around an odd farmhouse owned and seemingly operated by a mysterious figure named Damien has placed our team in danger. Addressing concerns and civility have been forceabully pushed aside as deep conflict has raged into violence. When force meets force, someone is going to have more to show than a stubbed toe. Will Georgio make his way to that performance at the inn? Will Nyx ever get a few flowers without having to use a magic wand? Will justice ever come for those who seek it in this action paced one shot of Dungeonetics? Listen In and find out. Again thanks for the PSA of old and PSA of new in this particular episode. Call it a fire and ICE mix from Channel 5 news. Things matter and voices are heard. A big shout out to Virus of Ideals and Kellen for bringing the heat time and time again. Free sound.org keeps a squeak in our hearts and boots on the ground, and remember adventurers... I for one am proud to tell a tale. I am more proud when we collectively make one together. Stay safe.

I am proud to say welcome back. In this opening of Dungeonetics we are welcomed to a mixed group of adventurers all looking or seeking someone who has gone missing. In one instance a young mother with two missing kids, another a father hot on a killers trail, another still a bard looking for his musical pair and friend. Flowers and coin are spread under a quick sausage and soft cheese spread, and as the facts grow and characters find their voice, they have a common problem. All of which lead to a mystery of sorts and a garuntee by me, the editor. One of the previous listed mysteries gets revealed in this episode of Dungeonetics. So join us as Corvus, Nix, Papa Georgio, and the team tackle Daimen's Farmhouse in search of the elusive Sid. Couple of real notes here: these sessions lead directly into our new episodes of Dungeonetics, so a great jumping in point is always our one shots. The Cognitive Crucible is a forum that presents different perspectives and emerging thought leadership related to the information environment. The opinions expressed by guests are their own, and do not necessarily reflect the views of or endorsement by the Information Professionals Association. John Boyd is well known to have formally written down very little of his own theories on war and conflict, making researching his concepts challenging and leading many to infer meanings based on their own interpretations—or others'—of what little easily accessible evidence of his thinking remains. In Snowmobiles and Grand Ideals, Ian Brown unpacks Boyd in his own words delivered during his lectures. "Don't give up the ship." "The Star-Spangled Banner." "Old Hickory." The Battle of New Orleans. The War of 1812 gave us some of America's most enduring symbols and phrases. But did it actually change anything? The treaty that ended it resolved almost nothing. The boundaries stayed the same. Impressment wasn't even mentioned. And the greatest American victory came after the war was technically over.So why does this "Second War of Independence" matter? Was it a pointless conflict that nearly destroyed a fragile young nation? Or the crucible that finally transformed thirteen squabbling former colonies into something that felt like a country?Join us as we dig into the contradictions, debate the consequences, and explore what the War of 1812 actually accomplished - or didn't. From the myths we tell ourselves to the realities on the ground, from Baltimore's ramparts to New Orleans' muddy fields, we're questioning everything about America's most misunderstood war. And before we're done, we'll grapple with something deeper: the ideals this nation was founded on - and how those very same ideals, however imperfectly realized, eventually gave us the tools to right some of our gravest wrongs.

Joel Finkelstein discusses how the New York election of socialist Zohran Mamdani was influenced by "subnationalism," where foreign nations subvert democracy. Organizations associated with Islamist Maoist ideals and CCP assets (like Neville Roy Singham, who bankrolled a campaign hub) were central to mobilizing votes. On social media, especially Instagram and TikTok, content favorable to Mamdani was given "engineered virality," with over 50% of viral engagement coming from non-American users, suggesting organized foreign intercession. 1931

My guest is Dr. David DeSteno, PhD, a professor of psychology at Northeastern University. We discuss science, God and religion, including what science can and can't reveal about the existence of God and where religious faith and science do and do not align. We also discuss why questions about life's origins, miracles and the afterlife have persisted across time. Dr. DeSteno explains how religious rituals cause meaningful improvements in mental and physical health and how prayer and gratitude can markedly reduce stress, increase honesty and compassion and buffer against loneliness and despair. Finally, we explore what distinguishes religions and mission-based communities from cults, and we discuss the role that communities such as 12-step and Burning Man play in modern life.
