Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday – especially because Canadian Thanksgiving is in October, and American is in November. I love that I am Canadian, and many of my listeners are American. This allows me to celebrate TWO Thanksgivings every year! It is ALL a story....It’s the truth. It’s reality. Them’s the facts. You’ve said it, you’ve thought it and now it has become your reality.…however…Your truth is based on your perceptions. The reality you’ve constructed is based on your perspective, and “the facts”– all based on the way you see your experiences. Everything you think about is rooted in the stories you weave around what you perceive, what’ is your perspective and your previous experiences…the good news? If you aren’t enjoying your current reality, you can shift your perceptions by looking at it from a new vantage point, and that creates a different story.

What did you think of when you read that statement? Depending on whether your Inner Coach or Your Inner Critic is in charge, you will have different interpretations. Did you immediately think about heading out on the town for a fun event? As a small child, you did not experience self-judgement. You were simply BE-ing and delighting in the simplicity of life. It’s Mother’s Day this weekend, and your relationship with your mom will be on your mind. It is the first relationship each of us had with “another”, and as such it created a blueprint for how we interact with others. Whether your Mom was awesome, or struggled, regardless of whether she is physically in your world or has passed, you can be your own Best Mom this weekend. Try it on - how will it look for you? On today’s show we’ll heal, encourage and grow your “Own Best Mom”.
How we frame things, the way we store them in our minds, and story them to others creates our reality. When tragic events occur, we can focus on the horror, or we can focus on the valiant efforts. We can be worried and upset, or we can step up and decide what difference we choose to make. You don’t have to jump on a plane to make a difference. Everyone, regardless of our own circumstances, can send energetic support that will make a significant impact.
Change – it is either too fast or too slow for us. There is no such thing as standing still – we are always moving in some direction. Three ways to KNOW you are making progress – which, by the way, totally speeds up the change process!

Right on the heels of April Fool’s Day is the perfect time to take a look at this word we toss around so lightly. “I’m so silly” “Silly Me” “That was silly of me”. These types of “throw-away” phrases seem innocent enough, but they erode confidence, self worth and respect. We’ll “Flip the Switch” on them today.

Oh – we LOVE to give it…advice that is! The solutions to other’s challenges and life situations seem so clear to us…why can’t they see it? My friend Adrienne used to say “It’s hard to see the picture when you are inside the frame” Thank your friends, family and colleagues for helping you develop this skill, then step outside of the frame of your situation, and focus your best advice-giving skills on yourself!
When you were a child, you absorbed everything that was said to and about you. Some of those things conflicted with each other, and some of them were more about the person who said them than about you. As an adult you have the opportunity to decide which of those observations you’ll treasure and which to let go. You have the right to develop yourself in whatever direction you choose. Take personally what feels right, true, and kind. Everything else is there for you to learn from.
I can be frustrated or I can relax. I choose to relax.But how do you do that when everything is working against you? I get asked this all the time and I’m happy to share some proactive ways of making certain that your most precious commodity – your time, is always used in ways that support you.
Love is in the air, and in the stores. Hearts and cupids abound, and are a terrific reminder to love yourself. We learn to look outside of ourselves for love, and forget to look within. How do we discover that love within ourselves? Where is the place of authenticity? How do we dissolve the old patterns of judgment, punishment, and self-defeating behaviours and come to know the truth of who we really are? Developing self-love is the key to a joyful, productive and successful way of living. This week is the perfect time to explore being your OWN best Valentine!
