Join Stephen and Cassandra Mahlstedt on their journey into the world of bourbon, rye and the occasional single malt. Love, marriage and whiskey!
Join us as we hang out with Kris and Kate from Barrels & Mash and discuss our fears of the shit hitting the fan when our comfortable, convenient infrastructure collapses around us and we are forced to live in more primitive times. Are you prepared? Cassie and I are doing our best to prepare, but we have a ways to go. Cheers y'all!
We are joined by our buddies Shawn and Anthony to drink some cocktails and bourbon and talk about the world-famous D.B. Cooper skyjacking mystery. Did Cooper survive the jump and get away with the money? Is he still alive and well today? Hell if I know! What am I, a detective? Tune in to listen to us drunk fools attempt to tackle this complex tale. Cheers y'all!
Due to a catastrophic fish tank failure (sorry, Anthony!), we found ourselves without guests on podcast Sunday. Kris and Kate happened to be chilling in their whiskey den and agreed to be emergency guests. We all had a drinking head start on this one, so things got a bit sloppy as we dove into the Denver Airport NWO conspiracy theory. Global domination and mass depopulation at the hands of a single world government, or just a big ole airport with weird art? You be the judge. Cheers y'all!
We've been living in the small, historic town of Harpers Ferry since 2010, and we figured it's finally time to get off our collective ass and go do some proper ghost hunting. Don't worry, despite all of the highly scientific investigative techniques that were required, we managed to drink some great whiskey along the way. Cheers y'all!
We are joined by our friends Paul Bryant and Kris and Kate from Barrels & Mash, and we imbibe a variety of alcoholic beverages and talk about the mysterious 1959 Dylatov Pass Incident. Who doesn't love to morbidly explore the strange circumstances of someone's demise, on booze?!?! We hope you'll tune in and pour yourself a few drinks and listen to us ramble on about this topic. Cheers y'all!!!
Cas and Steve catch up with their friend and fellow whiskey aficionado, Tim Gunderman. Tim drops some cocktail knowledge and shares a couple of cocktail recipes, including a tasty-ass tiki cocktail. Make yourself a cocktail (or pour yourself some whiskey) and tune in. Cheers!
Steve and Cas introduce a new segment called Talking About Shit on Whiskey, and the first topic is Flat Earth Theory. Yes, you read that right. Flat Earth Theory. Haha! Pour yourself a couple drams of whiskey and tune in to hear Steve, Cas and Kris and Kate from Barrels & Mash pick apart this ridiculous theory. Cheers y'all!
Steve gets all paranoid about some cryptic tweets from Wikileaks and fears that WWIII might commence next week, and Steve and Cas hang with Ryan from The Bourbon Buddy and try their hand at a blind whiskey tasting that Ryan so generously provided. Cheers y'all!
Join us - retroactively - on February 1, 2017, while we celebrate Paul Bryant's and Kris Kettner's desperate and harrowing escape from Dry January sobriety. How can sane (relatively speaking) people take a month off from drinking? Tune in to find out!!! Cheers y'all!!
Steve and Cas hang out at One Eight Distilling in Washington, D.C. with co-founder and Head Distiller Alex Laufer, and Brian and Greg from The Whiskey Library. Good times!!!

Steve and Cas are unprepared for the episode and decide to give Kris and Kate a call to see if they can help them get them in the Christmas spirit. Good times ensue: wassail is drunk, gifts are exchanged, movies are compared and more. Join Hearts2Tails for their first ever holiday episode. Cheers y'all!
Ok, so we didn't really join the Marines, but we did hang at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina with Cassie's sister Torrie and our producer, Senor Fletchbutt. We all (aside from Fletcher) drank a bunch of bourbon while enjoying a nice, frigid weekend at the beach. Also, be sure to checkout a non-profit organization that Torrie is very involved with: http://copperhorsecrusade. It's a good cause that addresses a sad problem. Checkout this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5IOIzKkq3Vg
Join Cas and Steve as they host a blind whiskey tasting for three of their Instagram (and fellow Whiskey Catfish Society) friends, and hear Steve say "absolutely" and "honey" 182 times. Cheers y'all!
Join Cas and Steve as they hang out in Washington D.C. and get to know the guys from The Whiskey Library and James, the owner of Bourbon: a dining saloon with a top-notch selection of whiskey located in the historic and lively neighborhood of Adams Morgan. Cheers y'all!
Cas and Steve drink Hot Toddies and taste Old Forester 1920 "Prohibition Style" bourbon while spending the weekend at a primitive cabin, battling rodents and fending off murderous woodsmen in the night. Cheers y'all!
Cas and Steve continue their losing battle against the fruit flies, Steve makes a couple whiskey confessions (although Cassie ends up in the dog house), and Cas and Steve taste the latest Jefferson's Reserve offering.

Cas and Steve taste a not-so-good fall cocktail, but then recover with a tasting of a rare 1983 bottling of Eagle Rare 10-year bourbon from the Old Prentice distillery. Cheers y'all!
Steve has some odd family stories to share, Cassie pours a beer over her head, and Kris and Kate from Barrels & Mash hang with us for some tastings and whiskey talk.
We hang out with Mike D'Amico, founder and CEO of Beehive Bitters, and we host the 3rd Beehive Bitters and Fletcher Whiskey Dog Cocktail Challenge. Tune in if you want to hear about some outstanding cocktails and find out who won the challenge!
Cas and I spend some time at our local KOA campground. Cassie tests my nosing skills with a blind aroma kit challenge, and then we taste some George Dickel Hand Selected Barrel bourbon.
Cassie and I host our first ever "on the go" episode and have ourselves a whiskey adventure in Washington, D.C., stopping at Joseph A Magnus & Co Distillery, and then moving on to a full night at Jack Rose Dining Saloon.
Cas and I lament about being back home and our longing to return to Scotland, but we're pleased to receive a "surprise" call from Ryan Lintz, a.k.a @bourbon_buddy (on Instagram). We chat about bourbon in general and the sweet 8-sample Wild Turkey blind tasting that Ryan so generously hooked me up with.
