Pat Fitzhugh has written two books about the Bell Witch legend: “The Bell Witch Haunting” and “The Bell Witch: The Full Account.” Two later movies took the name of his first book. His second book, “The Bell Witch: The Full Account,” introduced over 50 previously unpublished facts about the case, making it the first major publication about the subject since Ingram. It also debunked several popular myths and misconceptions, and provided extensive bibliographical footnotes and discussion notes, effectively raising the bar for modern Bell Witch research. Most Bell Witch books and articles published after “The Full Account” have made extensive use of the information it introduced, and mostly without attribution. Fitzhugh played a role in 2015’s A&E’s TV series, “Cursed! The Bell Witch,” where he acted as an advisor to the sleuths who were investigating the case. He has also been a contributing author of several publications, including “Weird US,” from Barnes and Noble Press. He wrote the foreword to Lori Crane’s Amazon bestseller, “The Legend of Stuckey’s Bridge,” and is interviewed on the Hollywood motion picture DVD, “An American Haunting,” starring Sissy Spacek and Donald Sutherland. His other credits include appearing in productions aired by Fox Entertainment, The History Channel, The Learning Channel, Discovery, Turner Broadcasting, and The Travel Channel. His latest appearance was in Small Town Monsters’ 2020 documentary movie entitled, “The Mark of the Bell Witch.” Also in 2020, as a musician, he collaborated with award-winning songwriter Mike Richards to pen “The Bell Witch – Let the Game Begin,” which released to all retailers on October 1st. Soon thereafter, the song debuted at #7 on the Blues and Roots Radio charts, peaking at #3 in early December. Pat Fitzhugh resides in middle Tennessee. He held elected public office from 1990-1992, and has in the past been a member of the Robertson County Historical Society, Toastmasters International, and Sertoma. He is currently involved with the Nashville Blues and Roots Music Alliance, and serves on the Board of Directors of a non-profit historic preservation group. In his limited spare time, he enjoys road trips, photography, and fishing. He is also an accomplished guitarist and session musician, specializing in rock and blues.

Escape rooms have always had this dark allure for me. One the one side of the sword they are a novelty, a parlor trick and a helluva lotta of fun. On the other side there is always the possibility that some insidious force is at work, waiting for hapless participants to sign their lives away to a grueling and horrible exercise in fear that ultimately leads to their demise. This fear has never been more present than in in the films of director Will Wernick. Director of the recently released No Escape (2020) and its predecessor Escape Room (2017), Will took time from his busy schedule to share his inspiration behind his latest thriller. No Escape is currently available on Amazon Prime to stream here

After the overwhelming popularity of 80’s horror doc “In Search of Darkness” we were certainly curious of what the creative team behind it had lined up next for fans. Not skipping a beat, and certainly not disappointing, the team behind In Search of Darkness is currently crowdfunding their newest project, “In Search of Tomorrow”. This thing is pretty epic and the personalities featured are IMPRESSIVE. We were able to sit down with one of the producers and fan extraordinaire Jessica Dwyer to discuss the film as well as our mutual obsession for all things horror/sci-fi. Enjoy!

Remember what seems now like the distant past when Hollywood was seemingly overrun with vampires? Aside from the sparkling variety I didn’t mind it so much. In fact, I’m quite in love with the idea of vampires and count Fright Night, The Lost Boys, the original Dracula and many more amongst my personal favorites. So whenever we hear about something new involving those most nefarious of bloodsuckers, well, color us curious. Captive promises to bring the vampire back to its fanged glory and we were able to sit down with two of the producers of the film Cody and Frank to talk about their project and their love of the genre. So sit back, grab a nice glass of red (wine) and enjoy! Captive is currently in the middle of their campaign on Kickstarter so head on over and help make this one a reality!!!

It’s been 10 years since the release of writer/director Brad Sykes’ ‘Plaguers’. The sci-fi/horror thriller starring Steve Railsback (Lifeforce, Helter Skelter) has seen a long life and doesn’t seem to be slowing down. The film’s 10th anniversary is celebrated by a new edition produced by Wild Eye Releasing and we were lucky enough to catch up with Brad and his creative partner/producer Josephina Sykes to talk about the film’s longevity as well as their long career in horror. Enjoy!

So apparently the entertainment world is all a-flutter about the premiere of something called “Star Wars” this upcoming week? Well, in addition to horror , the Star Wars saga made quite an impact in the young brains of the Night Terrors crew and continues to be a large part of our lives. We take a little bit of time to talk about our expectations of the new film and a few of our misgivings about the sequel trilogy in general. Lest we forget, we also made our way up to the great white wilderness known as Rochester, NY. We hung out with MCPI‘s Rob Pistilli, took in a cereal cocktail at Pop Roc, and even visited the grave of Rochesters very own Francis Tumblety, none other than what is widely believed to be Jack the Ripper himself. Enjoy!

It’s hard to deny that Nightmare on Elm Street creator Wes Craven was WAY ahead of his time. Here was a horror director, a genre icon, that realized that horror had become such a parody of itself that it practically opened up an entirely new sub-genre that not only appealed to the fans, but recognized their own self-awareness. This was never more evident than in Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. A non-sequel sequel that was so “meta” that one has to actually see it to believe that it actually got made (yes, Robert Englund plays himself alongside Heather Langenkamp dong the same). Probably the smartest film in the series, it is often recognized for its huge intellectual leap forward, yet rarely gets the recognition of the other entries in the series. That is, until now. Fan and filmmaker Cecil Laird has announced that he will be moving forward with “Dylan’s New Nightmare”. A Nightmare on Elm Street fan film that brings back original star Miko Hughes to reprise his role in a continuation of New Nightmare. Obviously excited as hell about the news we took the opportunity to talk to Cecil about all things Nightmare AND the crowdfunding campaign to make it all possible.

Good murder mysteries have seemingly become a thing of the past. With Clue still a fan favorite and Knives Out on the way there are those of us who quite simply relish the genre niche that we undoubtedly rarely get enough of. Director David Palamaro has given us wonderful new entry into the world of murder mysteries with ‘Murder Made Easy”, a wonderful dialogue-driven black comedy AND he was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule to discuss its inspirations.

Every once in a long while a movie comes along that changes the public’s perception of cinema; a movie that challenges social paradigms and breaks down the differences that separate us. I have no fuckin’ clue what that movie is but I’m sure it probably has something to do bravery in the face of nazi-occupied Germany or a physically challenged football player. Totally fine with me as I’ll be eating cheese curds naked watching The Velocipastor. In case you haven’t read any of our coverage here on Horror-Fix, The Velocipastor is basically exactly what you thing it is: Half Priest, half dinosaur – Velocicpastor. In honor of all things that we absolutely love we had the pleasure of sitting down with the film’s director, Brendan Steere, cinematographer Jesse Gouldsbury and the film’s female lead Alyssa Kempinski. Grab your collar, don that chastity belt and gear up for Night Terrors Radio – Cast & Crew of The Velocipastor! Veolipastor on Amazon.
