The tale of the Lady in White at Stow Lake in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park has long been whispered about by locals. Described as the ghost of a woman in a flowing white gown, the story often recounts her tragic search for her lost child, eternally wandering the park in the dead of night. Some have called it an urban legend, but in truth, it may be more of a myth—a cautionary tale born from parental concerns in the early 1900s. A semitransparent woman wearing a nineteenth century white dress appears to kids and young adults as they are on their phones. The ghostly apparition raises her right index finger in front of her lips and waves it back and forth. She appears a half dozen times. Then, the young adults are found with grave burns.
