This week on the podcast, I spoke with Mattie Gustin, “Chatty Mattie”. Gustin is a Texan native that has grown up with a passion for reining horses. She has trained with NRHA professional, Casey Deary, for over 10 years and has had incredible accomplishments. Cody is the president of Pro Management, Inc., which provides management, publishing, and media for some of the giants in the western performance horse industry. Pro management runs the NRHA Derby, NRHA Futurity, NRBC, and SWRHA Futurity. In 2018, Cheryl was the Reining Discipline Manager for the World Equestrian Games and she partners with Tom McCutcheon on Virtual Horse Help and she owns the online magazine WorldWide Slide. Cody also co-founded Rein-In-Cancer and has helped many individuals dealing with cancer. This week, I had the opportunity to talk with the amazing Heidi Pichotta! Pichotta grew up loving horses and has had the opportunity to turn that love into a successful business, Mechanics for the Equine Athlete. Several years ago, Pichotta was in a truck-related accident that resulted in her losing feeling in her legs. But even after doctors warned her that she may never walk on her own again, Pichotta proved them wrong. After a long process, she can walk on her own, she goes on runs, and she is even back to showing her reining horses at major events. Pichotta has an incredible story and I was so grateful that I got the chance to tell it!
