Abbo & Spon in conversation with David Eastaugh UK Decay was born from another Luton band called the Resiztors, who had formed in 1978. The Resiztors' line-up consisted of guitarist Steve "Abbo" Abbott, drummer Steven David Harle, bassist Martin "Segovia" Smith and vocalists Ricky Smith and Paul Wilson. After the vocalists' departure in the spring of 1979, the remaining band members changed their name to UK Decay, with Abbott as singer (and guitarist). They soon released the Split Single 7-inch EP in partnership with fellow local band Pneumania, on their own Plastic Records label. The EP featured two tracks from each band, with UK Decay contributing "UK Decay" and "Car Crash". At the same time, some UK Decay members produced their own monthly fanzine The Suss and ran their own punk record and clothes shop called Matrix. Guitarist Steve Spon was soon recruited from Pneumania, allowing Abbo to concentrate on frontman duties.

Ich habe den Artikel in der Harvard Business Review gelesen:  From Prediction to Transformation   Ajay Agrawal, Joshua Gans, Avi Goldfarb   To realize their potential, AI technologies need new systems that leverage them.    Der Artikel beruht auf dem Buch Power and Prediction: The Disruptive Economics of Artificial Intelligence  der gleichen Autoren.  Der Text zeigt auf wie KI die Welt nach und nach verändert - so wie es der Strom und die Dampfkraft tat. Er ist von den gleichen Autoren des Bestsellers Prediction Machines.  Ich finde das Buch sehr gut und auch den Artikel sehr gut und ich habe das was ich besonders wichtig finde in meinem Podcast zusammengefasst.  Künstliche Intelligenz (KI) hat Branchen auf der ganzen Welt verändert Aber es hat gerade erst seine Transformationsleistung zu besseren und schnelleren Vorhersagen begonnen, die strategische Entscheidungen bestimmen werden. Wenn die Möglichkeiten für Vorhersagen ausgeschöpft werden, verändern sich Wertschöpfungsketten aller Branchen: Disruptionen quer über alle Kontingente.  Der Text zeigt auf wie KI die Welt verändert - so wie es der Strom und die Dampfkraft tat. Es geht mir vor allem um die folgenden Inhalte:  KI: Nicht Erkenntnisse sind der entscheidende Vorteil.  Der Wert von KI liegt in der Qualität der Entscheidungen.  “Wir wissen nicht, was wir mit den Vorhersagen unserer KI anfangen sollen”  “Wie KI den America's Cup gewann...”  KI kann Segeln lernen Und Segeln.  KI kann Boote bauen.  KI kann beides 24 Stunden am Tag. 365 Tage.  KI kann das mit mehreren Booten parallel.  2 Jahrzehnte nachdem Edison die Glühbirne eingeschaltet hatte, verbrauchten nur 3% der US Unternehmen Strom.  KI funktioniert in komplexen Umgebungen und segelt besser als Menschen.  KI hat systemische Auswirkungen, die noch nicht wirken.  Wie bei Strom und Dampfkraft:  Zögerliche Verbreitung    Entscheidungsfindungen  werden sich ändern:  Wer? Wo? Full Text of ReadingsTuesday of the First Week of Advent Lectionary: 176All podcast readings are produced by the USCCB and are from the Catholic Lectionary, based on the New American Bible and approved for use in the United States _______________________________________The Saint of the day is St. EligiusSt. Eligius was born in Chaptelat, near Limoges, France around 590 A.D. to Roman parents. At a young age, his father recognized that his son had an unusual talent and sent him to the famous goldsmith, Abbo, who was the master of the mint at Limoges. Later on, Eligius went on to work at Neustria. From there, he was recommend to Clotaire II, king of Neustria, who commissioned him to craft a throne of gold adorned with precious stones for him. The honesty of the Saint impressed the king, and he was rewarded by being appointed as master of the mint at Marseilles, and by being taken into the royal household. After Clotaire IIs death, the new king, Dagobert, appointed Eligius to be the kings chief councilor. Eligius eventually became so well known that ambassadors paid their respects to him before going on to see the king. The charitable and honest Eligius took advantage of his status to obtain alms for the poor and to ransom Roman, Gallic, Breton, Saxon, and Moorish captives who were arriving at Marseilles daily. He was able to get the kings approval to send his servants through towns and villages in order to take down and bury the bodies of the criminals whose bodies were executed and displayed as a further punishment. He founded several monasteries to which he introduced, at least partially, the Irish monastic rule. He also built the basilica of St. Paul and restored the basilicaof St. Martial in Paris. In honor of the relics of St. Martin of Tours, the national saint of the Franks, he had several churches built. He did the same thing for St. Denis, whom the king had taken as a patron saint. At court, Eligius and his friend Dado lived a life that followed the Irish monastic rule, introduced into Gaul by St. Columbanus. When King Dagobert died, Queen Nanthilde took the throne. At this time, Eligius and Dado left the court and entered the priesthood. When Acarius, the bishop of Noyon-Tournai died on May 13, 640, the clergy and people unanimously made Eligius his successor. Because the majority of his diocese was pagan, Eligius undertook the conversion of the Flemings, Antwerpians, Frisians, Suevi, and the barbarian tribes along the coast. When the body of St. Quentin was discovered, Bishop Eligius had a church built in honor of the saint. Adjoined to the church was a monastery under the Irish rule typical of Eligiuss rule. The bodies of St. Piatus and companions were also discovered during his episcopacy, as well as the remains of St. Fursey, the celebrated Irish missionary who died in 650 A.D. Eligius died on December 1, 660 and was buried at Noyon. St. Eligius is the patron of goldsmiths, blacksmiths, and all metal workers. Taxi drivers have also put themselves under his protection. A Federal High Court in Abuja has Monday directed Senator Elisha Abbo PDP, Adamawa North who slapped a woman repeatedly at a sex toy shop on May 11, 2019 to pay the sum of fifty million naira (N50), to Osimibibra Warmate for assault.The senate member was reported to have entered a sex toy shop around 6pm, with three young ladies to purchase adult toys.While shopping for the toys, one of the three girls started throwing up. She vomited multiple times, the shop owner passed a comment that the woman should have vomited outside and not inside her shop.Abbo, who was upset by the sudden illness of the girl accused the shop owner of poisoning the store's air conditioner, but the shop owner's difference of opinion was said to have angered Abbo, The senator was said to have called a policeman who he then ordered to arrest the shop owner.The shop owner quickly called her father to inform him that Abbo had called police over the matter and that she was about to be taken away.The shop owner's friend who had been standing nearby tried to intervene by pleading with the second man to take things easy but was slapped repeatedly by the lawmaker.The assault was reported on May 14 at the Maitama Area Command Headquarters on Nile Street, but the police told the victim to go look for Abbo's telephone number or they would not be able to do anything about it.He was later arraigned by the police before a magistrate court in Zuba, on a one-count charge for assaulting Warmate. Abdullahi Ilelah, the magistrate, upheld the no-case submission filed by the lawmaker and dismissed the case.However, Warmate continued to file a fundamental rights suit marked CV/2393/19 before the FCT high court, which has now ruled in her favour.

Elisha Abbo is a sitting Senator in Nigeria that beat up a woman in a sex shop. and a full year later, the case against him in court was thrown out. amid the accusations and counter accusations against him, we try to analyse his case and look at some of the issues in our Justice system that are made bare by that case.

My guest is Abbo - a musician, event promoter, radio host artist manager and mentor. A supporter of all things independent and local art. During his time in the UAE, Abbo founded the GoPlayTheWorld open mics and originals series which gave a platform for all up and coming artists to showcase their music on stage. This was a launchpad for many artists and bands in the country that have continued their careers in music today. As a solo artist he has been writing, recording and preforming his music since 2002 also hitting the number one slot on the iTunes charts with his DaVinci Park album, Overlooking Florence.
