It's our first back to back week of episodes! On this day exactly 200 years ago, the Monroe Doctrine was published (couldn't have planned it better, even if we tried)! Tune in to see if Taylor Swift's favorite president was James Monroe… he was the first to ever embark on an Eras Tour!
We are BACK from our break, and onto our 4th president! James Madison, a federalist who came up with checks and balances?! I know right?! Well it's gonna get even crazier, because we are doing back to back episodes this week! Tune in today and tomorrow for battle of the James'
Jefferson's presidency is one that surprisingly a lot of layers to it! The focal point, was his push-pull relationship with preceding president John Adams. Listen in to hear about two leaders who cared deeply about humanity in leadership, and the maintenance of propriety among men.
Welcome back Lifters! We're back on our president run. Sticking to chronological order, we've decided to dissect some basic principles of John's Adams' leadership style. Listen on Spotify or Apple Podcasts:)
Guys, this has got to be one of our best rants yet! Listen now on Spotify or Apple Podcasts;)
Ever wonder who started this whole presidency job and created every tradition that we know and love in this nation's government? That's right, Washington! But how far have we strayed from the blueprint? Is the president just a figurehead? Wasn't that the whole point of the genesis of the presidency, to avoid creating another socialistic monarchy? Like, share, follow, and message us!
Official kickoff to season 3 content! This week, is all about the origin of the American President. Once considered a “model” for all forms of leadership… has that changed? You be the judge! We also introduce our first discussion about George Washington… did he forecast the terror that an America divided could have? Tune in! Remember to like, comment, and subscribe!
Welcome back lifters! We are so excited that you are tuned into our season 3 kickoff!! This season is building up on last season's idea of exploring origins and beginnings, only this time, it's all about the presidents. Lifting Leadership episodes will examine different presidents and help us figure out how this nation built on togetherness, became a nation divided
This one, will make you sweat, but will hopefully provide you with the tools that you need to have an educated conversation regarding the inhumane act of discrimination CREATED by our government by Redlining acts. Listen, share and send us your feedback or your own stories to share!
IT'S ELECTION DAY! What a better way to kick off our new segment?! Lifting the Vote is designed to explore everything there is to know about voting. You asked for it you got it! By popular demand, another rant for you all. This one we are super proud of, it's a culmination of a lot of thoughts about the evils of media and grooming, that we think NEEDED to be said. Listen in and don't forget to register to Vote, our freedoms and choices is an integral part of what makes this country irreplaceable
Sofia is back! As an education and history major, she is here to serve some reality on how segregation has been taught since it's genesis to now… she also dives into what segregation's definition really is, depending on the context it's in. Listen now!
Remember the days of opening up your newspaper and having time to digest the news, and not getting polarized ideas shot at you at light speed on TikTok… with no time to digest what you've just heard?! You do? Then you're in luck, this week is all about what a moderate vote means, and how powerful moderate ideas can be in such a polarized political universe we exist in. The evolution of what a moderate vote/opinion means is astounding… they're really just people who take a minute to digest who they're voting for and what they believe in… much like we did once upon a time, in the age of carbon-scented newspapers and intelligent conversations.
This week is one of those weeks where our team really had to test our devotion to the show's motto, having really uncomfortable, but important and necessary conversations. It's no secret that harsh language causes a really aggressive and harmful narrative for everyone of every race and culture. We need to recognize that and change the direction these conversations are headed, especially for the next generation. The rhetoric is broken, we're trying to earn equity with passive aggressive language and blanket statements, and it's just simply not going to work. Like, comment, follow, and message us anytime!
Here we are again ranting ourselves into a circle. We are joined by three more beautiful minds to talk about global warming, politics, and money. Like, share, comment new ideas :)
This week it's back to basics. Everyone needs to be reminded of where they came from, so that's what we decided to do! We dive into our main original objectives of why we created this podcast in the first place. Spoiler alert… it has A LOT to do with LISTENING to each other. Try it sometimes, kids! Until next week:)
A day after the 21st anniversary of the tragic day 9/11, we reflect on the origin of our great heroes. How did the police and other forms of law enforcement/safety begin? Do those beginnings influence how different members of our nation see law enforcement today, particularly police officers. We dig deep, but it gets good and enlightened! Share with your friends and have important conversations with those who you wouldn't ever think to.
This week is all about discovering different perspectives and how they see our same world; more specifically tapping into young minds and asking them what their initial thoughts of media were. To kick this segment off, we have Ava Cuchiarale and her incredible insight on what makes today's media and generation, different than others. This sets the tone for understanding why people believe what they believe! Enjoy:)
Welcome back everyone! We're back with a really heavy, but VERY important topic. This was hard to get through and hits close to home during this time of strife in the nation, but is ESSENTIAL to discuss. We need to stop having amnesia and desensitization to these shootings. Is it terrifying? Sure. But breaking it down and learning about the history of these tragedies, really brings awakening on how differing sides could come TOGETHER and make a big difference. Learning about this and wanting to prevent them from happening, does not mean we hate guns or want them taken away from people; instead it means we care about the world and just want a little more control in who's pulling that trigger. Give it a listen on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, it's a must listen if you want the right sort of change.
Join us today as we discuss the beginning of Feminism and how we got to where we are today. Sofia Bosco elaborates the historical side of the movement. It's a MUST LISTEN guys! Listen and share:)
This week we are starting off Lifting Beginnings STRONG with feminism. It's a phrase that makes some clap and some cringe, but why when it has such an important BEGINNING?! That's what this episode is all about. Join us in finding out how origin story could bring as all together again! Make sure to like, comment, subscribe and leave us a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify
We are officially BACK! Tune in wherever you listen to your podcasts. This season is all about appreciating the art of debate, taking the time to understand one another's perspectives, and uncovering the beginnings of social issues that we have somehow made political. These are going to be hot button topics that will probably make some uncomfortable/uncertain, but are the conversations that NEED to be had. For real change and unity to happen, controversial healthy debates must occur. Thank you all for sticking with us on this journey. Please make sure to share any suggestions you may have for season 2, we wouldn't be anything without each of you! Like, comment and subscribe:)
God Bless our Veterans and their families. Thank you for your sacrifice, heroism, and selfless hearts. This week is a rant on how we as civilians can be WORTH that fight.
We are overjoyed to promote and welcome candidate Laura Jean Diekman to the Lifting Greatness segment. She is running for Monroe County legislature for District 10 and her main objective is similar to our own mission statement: unity, how do we find it? Tune in to listen to her amazing story and journey for seeking truth, independence and justice! Don't forget to VOTE VOTE VOTE
This week we're diving deep into a very sensitive topic, but it needed to be discussed… 9/11. We have done tireless research and soul searching before deciding to create this episode, but we hope that what we have to say moves each of you to want to know more about this monumental day in history. Some questions to ponder/consider: how has 9/11 impacted you or your family? What events or leadership decisions led to this day occurring? How can we prevent history being repeated, especially with the vast resources we have to prevent such events from occurring? What can our leadership do or what are they not doing to prevent a catastrophe like this from happening again? All big questions and big feelings, but Americans need to start asking those questions and feeling those feelings if we want to remember and not repeat. Like, share, comment, subscribe, and message us with any questions or requests you have :)
We are BEYOND excited to share with all of you amazing listeners our very first celebrity guest, Charlii Sebunya! He is a multi-talented producer, celebrity model, actor, journalist, and TV host for Addy media as well as StyleCulture TV! Today we are chatting with him about not only our political climate, but also about how he so effortlessly utilizes topics like fashion as a device to unify our polarized nation. Not only does he use it as common ground, but as a way to get people's honest feelings about how they truly feel about hot button topics through his innovative interviewing techniques. Tune in and tell all your friends about this groundbreaking 25th episode of Lifting the Rug. Find us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Anchor, or wherever you listen to your podcasts :)
So beyond excited for this very important and impactful topic! This week is all about our soldiers. We encourage each of you to reflect on this one question: what makes a soldier so great? It's a big question that demands careful consideration, so please take your time and let us know what you think in the comments or via messenger! We'd love to hear your thoughts:) Stay tuned for next week where we keep the paramount discussion of our past and current military going! Like, comment, subscribe, share, and REFLECT‼️
This week we have another rant all about the cancel culture. Alessia did a phenomenal job running solo on this rant! This is the perfect example of speaking passionately and in the moment when you feel like something needs to be said. Hope you all enjoy:) Remember to like, share, and subscribe!
We are getting into some DEEP philosophical stuff this segment, so all my lifters better buckle up. This week I am kicking off a segment that is a little more abstract but explores the human experience in a whole new way; it's called lifting greatness. It was inspired by a quote from William Shakespeare that I think everyone should ponder: “Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them” (Twelfth Night). Which one are you? Or is all of us a little bit of every kind of greatness mentioned? Does our political party help define our level of greatness? What makes you so great? Listen in and stay tuned, you're not going to want to miss this one!
We're so excited about this week's episode. This week it's all about the cancel culture, but with a twist. We start to dive into a sub genre that is this apology culture that has sparked civil war within the same party. Lin Manuel Miranda was recently criticized for not being inclusive enough in his hit cinematic production “In the Heights”. He had to apologize essentially for his art. What is this world? Why can't we all just get along and appreciate whatever someone wants to create? Whatever happened to freedom of expression?
Yay for 20 episodes!! Thank you all for your supportive listening ears. This week we are re-visiting our Lifting Persecution segment, focusing on prayer in Congress. We dig into, why we have these prayers? How have they evolved over time, especially in this polarizing political climate? Should we still have these prayers today? All of these questions will explored within this episode, as well as the all encompassing question: is there really separation of church and state? Please like, comment, subscribe, and share. Also don't hesitate to DM us with any suggestions you may have for future episodes, no matter what side you're on. All are welcome :)
This week is all about ranting about the increased violence in our community. We dig deep into what kind of rising murders we're facing, as well as what is REALLY causing this violence. Let's all stay safe and try to educate ourselves as best as we can to keep one another safe and sound!
Welcome back to Lifting Persecution! This episode Sofia is back and talking about her spiritual journey and how it's effected her political journey! Together, we dive into what the separation of church and state really means to us and how much this scrolling culture has taken over our lives! We need to rediscover ourselves and figure out a way to re-capture the phrase “we the people”!
Welcome to our first episode of our lifting Persecution segment. This is a very touchy topic, but a necessary one to dive into. The premise of our nation is freedom of religion, which was achieved by the Father of Free Religion: Thomas Jefferson. Separation of Church and State is the amendment term that we associate with this premise of freedom to practice religion, so we're going to dive into that today. Some questions for reflection: what does this term mean? What was it intended to do for this nation and what is it actually doing today in such a highly saturated political world? Do we truly have freedom of religion? How did politicians become so corrupt? Some of those questions are answered right here on this first episode, so I encourage everyone to give it a listen and please let us know if you have any ideas for this segment! Like, comment, message, share and subscribe:)
Second episode of the week is up! This week we are circling back to the Lifting Liberty segment before we move onto our “separation between church and state” segment that will start next week. Sofia is co-hosting with me talking about the nature of immigration and how we as Americans can change the paradigm of what immigration really is. Take a moment to reflect on what you think immigration really is; how did Americans see immigrants when it first started and how does it compare to today's perspectives? Please share your thoughts and comments with us. Thank you all for your listening ears‼️ For Liberty. For Justice. For ALL
This week we are posting two episodes to make up for missing last week (so sorry again)! We are sharing our thoughts on Season 1 Episode 3 of Queer Eye, an amazing story of two very different perspectives creating more love than we've ever seen on television. This is our mission: to get that positive dialogue going between these two polar opposite sides and start conversations that can change the world! Please give this a listen and also take some time to watch the episode, we are certain you won't regret it:) also let us know if you have come across any mediums of entertainment that emulate this same goal of unification and LISTENING to one another. We hope everyone had an amazing Memorial Day full of reflection and thank you to all who have served!
This week is all about taking the word “uncultured” out of our vocabularies. Let's face it, everyone has a culture; think about it, culture is a set of values and beliefs that people practice daily and on special occasions! So, let's be more mindful and receptive of everyone's cultures and traditions, and maybe we'll be inspired to take something from each one we learn about! I am so very grateful and blessed to have the traditions my Italian culture has provided me, but I'm also incredibly proud to have my American traditions as well! So let's celebrate those cultures that all help make America great:) Ask your friend or neighbor some of their traditions and notice the common themes between them... you might be surprised! I hope you all enjoy, and please share your story with me on culture or immigration, I'd love to have a discussion! Have an amazing weekend and make sure to like, share and subscribe! For Liberty and Unity
This is a very exciting Mother's Day special with none other than Mama D herself. I urge you all to please listen all the way through on her journey as a daughter of two immigrants. How their hard work and sacrifices made her and all of us really who we are today with tremendous amount of opportunity. This story is tried and true to as long as you are willing to work your butt off, America will give back, that's what the land of opportunity was designed for. But, spoiler alert: you actually have to put in the WORK‼️ As my mom says, “Immigrants, they get the job done
We are so excited to start our Lifting Liberty segment! It's no secret that immigration is a hot button topic that seems to be a major polarizing factor of the nation, but it deserves to be talked about. This first episode is dedicated to understanding our country's evolution of immigration... what it's original intentions were and how different laws and Acts passed have gotten us where we are today. It is meant to serve as the foundation for what we hope to be a productive and stimulating topic! Please let us know if you would like to be interviewed on your own experience with immigration or have loved ones who have been through this process, we welcome everyone to tell their story. Like, subscribe, and share:) we appreciate you all!

This week we discuss the toxicity that public figures on both sides can offer in this political climate as they try to cancel one another out. We emphasize the importance of becoming your own political hero and pursuing freedom of speech with optimal education and confidence. Please continue to like, comment and subscribe! DM us with any suggestions you all have on possible episode ideas/if you want to be a guest star!
Welcome back! This week I am on my own discussing one of my favorite topics, Disney. I will be talking about how the cancel culture is effecting Disney and society essentially telling parents how to raise their children by canceling or editing Disney classics. I will be still talking about both sides of the issue as this is what Lifting the Rug is all about, but am not shy about my thoughts of my childhood memories being tampered with. I hope you all enjoy! Like, comment, subscribe and we'll see you all next week:)
