In this podcast I am initially starting by simply having conversations with friends who I feel are interesting, and funny. I think the art of a good conversation is somewhat lost as of late. I like a good chat, and love to laugh! I'd be honored if you'
Near-local friend and fellow real estate agent Cala Neu joins me for a chat this week! She is a super sweet person who was extremely pregnant and finally was able to carve out some time in her busy schedule to come down and chat! As normal, we talk about everything- going out on your own as a business owner, property management and rentals, girl scout cookies, old high school teachers, and so much more! Please enjoy the show! If you want to get a hold of Cala for your real estate needs, her website is: https://northwoodswi.com/
My office landlord, entrepreneur, family man, and all-around "man about town"- Doug Gasek joins me for a last-minute chat! We cover a wide range of topics, as always! I found him to be funny and interesting- and asked him to join me for a recording- and he said yes. So please enjoy the show!
This episode kind of happened by accident! Ms. Ashley Yaklyvich messaged me as someone who could possibly help her put together a short video of her answering some questions about her experience with breast cancer. Her Cancer Center of America nurse, Danielle Brown wanted to use Ashley's story as part of her presentation at the 2022 Interdisciplinary Breast Cancer Center Conference in Las Vegas! So instead of just doing a Powerpoint, Ashley had heard of my podcast and asked it I'd be game- which I was, of course! We started by asking the questions Danielle had wanted me to ask- and then just got really longwinded! Haha! She's a strong, amazing woman who has been through a lot all before the age of 35! Please listen to her story. If you know someone who is dealing with a cancer diagnosis- please feel free to refer them to the links below! Everyone knows someone who has been effected by cancer- so join us in saying: "F*CK CANCER!!' Ashley would like to thank the following: Cancer Treatment Center of America: Cancercenter.com or call and talk to Brian at 1-847-342-4209 Her husband Jesse, who been by her side through this whole process Too many other family and friends to list- for all the love and support OTP - Newman - Coldwell - 2/18/22- for being awesome and allowing her the opportunity to share her story on a whole other level! Everyone at the CTCA for being so amazing! I would also like to thank Ashley for being pretty darn awesome herself! That's a heavy weight to carry at 30 years old- and she's handling it well! Stay awesome!
Well, well, well......Looky who has returned! Mr. Justing Brusky- lover, fighter, network wizard and bicycle fanatic- returns to the studio with a topic!! I know- not our usual jam here at 'Talk About Towers! But we managed to interrupt each other enough to get our quota of tangents in! Lots of common phrases explained, laughs had, and good stories told! You don't want to miss this one!
This week I sit down and talk with Ms. Brooke Klingbeil. She's a Medford area native and friend! She is one of the "Women in Wastewater" that we discuss and has done all sorts of good things for our community and state as far as advances and training in wastewater treatment and how a lot of rural municipalities deal with it! We have a nice lil chat and of course- there are tangents!! To see more of what Brooke does, and has done- check out the links below! https://www.centralwinews.com/starnews/2021/10/13/city-receives-award-for-sewer-project/?destination=star-news https://www.wef.org/membership/join-wef/member-perspective/member-perspectives-brooke-klingbeil/ I cannot post a link to the training video I helped Brooke shoot because it is not up yet on the Wisconsin DNR website! That's not her name- but I gotta mess with her!! Most of you know her as Tori from 'Tori Jo Photography'! She's short-n-sassy! She is an awesome photographer who shoots just about anything! Weddings, Senior and Family portraits, Racing (Series 1, SxS, Championship Offroad, ect) and more! The first episode of Season 2!! Episode 1- The Deac Diaries, features two powerhouses of Price County! Myself and Justin Matsick are, to this day, reigning, undefeated champs in badminton and pickleball at Phillips High School (Men's doubles), and were voted best dancers of our senior class in consecutive years (Justin in 98 and Joel in 99). I don't really know what more I'd have to say to get you to listen to this episode! I love this man! He is one of my all-time favorite people, and I hadn't seen him in almost 20 years! I thoroughly enjoyed our talk and hope to have him on again! Listen on Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts (remember to leave a 5-star rating and review!), or anywhere you get your podcasts. I've also been working on uploading show videos to our YouTube channel, but rural DSL internet doesn't like to cooperate. I'll post a link to the show video and the channel itself when I get it all squared away! Thank you for your patience while I got season 2 up and running!
Hello!! Just a short little preview of what I'm planning for Season 2! I also want to thank all of those who commented, liked, shared or reviewed the show last season! On to bigger and better this season!
Well kids....all it took was for her to actually listen to my episode with Ray Daniels for her to change her mind. Local legend, lover of booze, slinger of wine, and all-around sarcasm queen Katrina Komanec is my guest this week! A huge 'Thank You' to Trina for taking a few hours of her busy day to come and talk nonsense with me! I had a blast, and I hope she did too! We hit on the fact that her bones are as sturdy as a wet paper towel (and nobody knows why!), her fear of mice (or basically anything smaller than her) and her thoughts on people who congratulate you for being pregnant......when you're not pregnant. Please enjoy the show! This will also be the first full episode available on YouTube. I upgraded a few things and was able to catch the entire recording this time! Check out my YouTube page and don't forget to Like and Subscribe to keep up to date with the latest releases!
The man, the myth, the Legend- Mister Ray Daniels graces me with his presence once again! We have a nice lengthy chat about anything and everything- once again! I don't have any pictures, or video of the chat as there was a technical issue (Lame), so I apologize for that! The first 10 minutes or so, the sound is "weird" but that's because we were standing in the room preparing a nice glass of Absinthe for us both to try for the first time. And yes- it was pretty terrible! Haha! After the cocktails are made, we get situated in our chairs and audio is back to good- so please bare with us! Sit back and let us take you on an auditory journey! Enjoy the show!
Well.....it was nice to have someone bring some class and smarts to the sow! Adeena Mignogna was my guest this week. She is a physicist and astronomer by degree, and works in the aerospace engineering/satellite industry for a while, and is a Science-fiction writer! The first book in her Robot Galaxy series is available on Amazon in paperback and digital formats! So hop on Amazon and pick up her book "Crazy Foolish Robots" today!! As always, we get sidetracked (per usual!) and I realize that I need to write things down because I actually got to about 2 of the 57 questions I wanted to ask! Haha! Please enjoy the show! Amazon link to Adeena's Book: amazon.com/Crazy-Foolish-Robots-Robot-Galaxy/dp/B097SRVYBL/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1636127064&sr=8-1 If you want to know more about Adeena and her books, check out her website: adeenamignogna.com/ And as always, I'm gonna ask for some fan interaction!! This episode was so much fun!! I have missed this woman! Ms. Mary Mahl is my guest, in-studio. She was my "trainer" at the first job I got when I had first moved to Medford in 2001/2002. She is one of my favorite people! If memory serves me correctly- we talked for close to 2 hours and could have gone way longer! We talk about her going "off grid" experience and the fact that she helped me get the worst apartment ever! Please enjoy the show!
This was some of the most fun experiences I've had while doing this! 3 guests at once! Mr. Paul Schrag, Ms. Sierra Brodland, and Ms. Holly Hamel join for a super fun chat! We talk about fun things, sad things, my (apparent) need to be in control and a whole bunch more! If you're a fan of what these awesome people do, please click the links below to get ahold of them! This week Ms. Lauren Stikeleather, published poet joins me for a nice conversation! Whaaaat? 2 episodes in 1 week? Yes! I felt that I had to in order to make up for the week I missed! In this one, about 7 minutes in- the online session drops off. I tried my best to make a smooth transition- but if you're wondering what happened, I blame the internet! This week I chat with Terry McDougall. She's an Executive and Career Coach and author of 'Winning the Game of Work: Career Happiness and Success on Your Own Terms'. If you feel that her services could be helpful to you, you can reach out to her at the links below! First off- SORRY for the wait!! I had a crazy few weeks at my "day job" and just couldn't get caught up! We're back on track and ready to roll! Deagon Williams is a former Chef who has gone out on her own as a Food Business Consultant- and is a super interesting person! We talked about a wide variety of topics- as always!! Mr. Daniel J. Glamann joins me in-studio! I haven't seen him in probably seen Dan in 15 years- and it was so nice to sit and chat with him!! As always- a wide range of topics are discussed! We had a cocktail and chatted for almost 3 hours, and it was great! Friends like this are the ones I value the most. When you don't speak because "life" gets in the way, and when you reconnect it's like no time has passed. He's one of the genuinely nice dudes in the world. We need more like him! Enjoy!
Well - it was bound to happen! I went to the internet to see what I could find about guests. Apparently there is completely untapped potential! In the past week, I've done 5 remote recordings and am loving it! I will, of course, still have local guests recorded in-studio when they're able- but this new platform offers some really cool, funny and interesting people and the resulting conversations! This week my guest is Joshua Velez. He's a fellow podcaster trying to get his name out there and promote his new and upcoming podcast "Double Tapped Fatigues to Slacks" where him and 2 friends sit and chat! They are all former military (THANK YOU!) and do talk about the transition to civilian life, but also just chat about things that 3 dudes would chat about! We had a great conversation with a range of topics and some good laughs! If you'd like to check out his podcast, search the show name in google, or click the link below to find it in Apple Podcasts! Well, well, well....Look who stopped in! A sarcastic and funny friend of mine, Alli Ranum! I had become acquainted with her years ago when I was still doing custom woodwork, and we've been casual friends since then! Similar sense of humor and a quick wit- love it! We talk about a wide variety of interesting topics that I feel most people can relate to! Sit back, relax and allow us to take you on a fantastic vocal voyage!!
Well due to scheduling conflicts, neither of my scheduled guests were able to join me this week! So I recorded a little ditty all alone! I had no idea what to talk about - to decided to chat a bit about the very basics of using a DSLR. Lots of people I know have them, and most leave it on the "Auto" setting, which is a mistake! After that short chat, I ended up convincing my son Logan to join me for a short talk! I was excited to get him in the studio. It took him a little while to get warmed up, but really enjoyed himself, and we hope you enjoy the show! So you get my camera tips PLUS a little chat with Mr. Logan!
Well look who couldn't stay away! Ms. Tara Langdon joins us again to touch on a few things that we missed out on last week! We discuss Indiana Jones, a whiny Luke Skywalker, Snakes and How to Pronounce 'Floccinaucinihilipilification'- plus much more! Join us for a hilarious conversation once again!
Well, well, well......Look who stopped in! My wonderful sister Tara Langdon! She's a peach who I cannot help but laugh with! This one had me tearing up from laughter while recording as well as re-listening for content! Big city girl comes back to small town Wisconsin for a nice chat about old times! This one you definitely don't want to miss!
In this episode I talk with Nick Arnoldy! A great friend of mine- what a blast from the past! We had a "best friends" relationship way back in 1999 when we both attended UW Stout. We've only spoken once since then.....and it was like no time had passed. Great guy, good talk and awesome to see him again! Enjoy!
I was so happy that this "gentleman" was able to stop in for a conversation. We met many years ago on an adult-league Flag Football team in town, and hit it off! He's a phenomenal tattoo artist, and awesome Dad! When he's not busy boxing the ears off someone, I really enjoy talking to him because he makes me laugh! I hope you feel the same! Check out this episode featuring Dustin Rehbein, of Solice Ink Company, LLC in Medford, WI!
Local hero Ray Daniels graces the studio with his presence. We celebrate his birthday a day early, and talk Medford punk scene, concerts and bunch of other random things! Join us on this meandering journey- several tangents within tangents! And enjoyable listen from beginning to end!
A great conversation with a former coworker of mine- Mr. Justin Brusky. He kindly made the drive up from Marshfield to simply chat! We hit everything from Bicycles and crabby neighbors to car washes and bidets! Well worth a listen!
