Growing up in a Jewish community, Jacob Mack was introduced to alcohol at the early age of 8 years old. Now at the age of 22, he recently celebrated 1 year Sober. He is a music fan in Recovery and had originally heard of The Wharf Rats recovery meetings at Grateful Dead concerts. Since he is a fan of Electronic Dance Music, Jacob searched for recovery groups in this scene and came across 'Ravers For Recovery'. He also came across the Insomniac Consciousness Group and that is where we connected with him. He recently moved to Brooklyn, New York and loves this new sober way of life. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/RaversForRecovery/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/RaversForRecovery/support

I this video, Eric discusses Recovery and Relapse. Many people think that recovery is simply a matter of not using drugs. They consider a relapse a sign of complete failure, and long periods of abstinence a sign of complete success. Relapse may be the jarring experience that brings about a more rigorous application of the program of Recovery. Dishonesty and self-deceit prevent many from enjoying complete recovery and acceptance within society. Complete and continuous abstinence, however, in close association and identification with others is the best ground for growth. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/RaversForRecovery/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/RaversForRecovery/support

In this episode, Troy speaks with Patt Ochoa of Harmonium. Harmonium is a non-profit which you can find at many different music festivals across the USA. Their purpose is to provide support and information to those who seek the comfort and camaraderie of other clean and sober people at festivals. Established in 2002 at the first Bonnaroo Music and Art Festival. A gathering of like-minded individuals concluded the need for support each year and would return, in part, because of their presence. Harmonium was invited to the first Lockn' Music Festival in 2013 which was their first growth outside Bonnaroo and in 2014 saw growth that invited them to 12 total music festivals including Beyond Wonderland, Electric Daisy Carnival, Bonnaroo, Paradiso, Lockn', Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Nocturnal Wonderland, Austin City Limits, and Countdown. In addition to working with Harmonium. Patt Ochoa also does Business Development at Sober Living Oregon Recovery Center.
