In late February, 1974, the first album from a brand-new Montreal band was released. It would help launch a Montreal musical renaissance, and lead to that band getting an invitation to tour Europe with Supertramp. Randy Renaud has the story behind Harmonium by Harmonium on the Chronicles of Rock.
One November night in 1973, a group of musicians without even a band name yet, performed 3 songs live on CHOM. Soon after a recording contract followed, and then a debut album that would make the name Harmonium a cultural milestone in Quebec and Canadian music history. Randy Renaud has the story of the birth of Harmonium on the latest edition of the Chronicles of Rock.

Titres diffusés durant l'émission : Chanson Noire - Harmonium She Loves You - The Beatles Sweet Baby James - James Taylor Harmonium - Harmonium Un Musicien Parmi Tant D'autres - Harmonium Aujourd'hui, Je Dis Bonjour À La Vie - Harmonium Dixie - Harmonium Depuis L'automne - Harmonium Le Premier Ciel - Harmonium La Guitare Des Pays D'en Haut - Fiori-Séguin Le Corridor - Harmonium Ça Fait Du Bien - Fiori-Séguin Juste Pour Rire - Serge Fiori Ballons Percés - Nanette Workman et Serge Fiori Si Bien - Serge Fiori Comme Un Fou - Harmonium L'exil - Harmonium Lumière De Vie - Harmonium Comme Un Sage - Harmonium Serge Fiori Le Bluesky de l'émission

In this episode of the RPGBOT.Podcast, the hosts gather for a postmortem discussion on Ash Ely's recent Planescape campaign—a wild ride through the Outer Planes where philosophy hits like a fireball and bureaucracy is deadlier than any dragon. With plenty of laughs and genuine reflection, the crew discusses their favorite moments, mechanical experiments, player decisions, and the challenges of storytelling in a setting where time is subjective, death is optional, and your base of operations might just be a sentient castle. This is a deep-dive into what makes a great campaign weirdly wonderful, packed with practical advice for GMs and players alike. The use of audio files and soundboards added flavor to the podcast experience, paralleling the dynamic creativity of the campaign itself. Planescape Setting Insights: Sigil proved to be a difficult but rewarding setting, demanding intense creativity from the GM and strong player investment. The Bleak Cabal introduced complex moral and philosophical themes around nihilism and existentialism. Harmonium conflicts introduced tension and clear stakes, adding urgency to the narrative. Excelsior and Mindenheim presented contrasting moral dilemmas, emphasizing how planar alignments influence gameplay. Gameplay Mechanics: The game included unique mechanics such as reincarnation, highlighting Planescape's flair for the metaphysical. Gambling mechanics introduced at Fortune's Wheel made the campaign feel alive and added extra stakes. Random tables were used to enhance chaos, though they occasionally clashed with narrative flow. Time in the Outlands was deliberately nebulous—used as a story device rather than a linear tracker. Character & Roleplay: Ash Ely discussed character arcs, spotlighting the emotional growth and backstory payoffs that came through during play. Character death and rebirth were treated as storytelling tools, not just fail states. The castle base of operations became a central hub for player bonding and improvised roleplay. Downtime activities, such as research or dealing with extraplanar paperwork, added depth and fun. Player Agency & Story Design: Player choices mattered deeply, often shifting the trajectory of the campaign. Side quests organically evolved into major plotlines, highlighting the value of listening to player interests. Fetch quests and bureaucratic challenges became unexpectedly entertaining when paired with strong character voices. Homebrew content enriched the setting, especially when integrated into existing multiversal lore. Lessons & Reflections: Player engagement and feedback were vital in navigating the weirdness of Planescape. The group shared regrets and lessons learned, emphasizing the importance of flexibility and communication. The campaign reinforced that creativity and player trust are the heart of any great tabletop experience. Final Thoughts: Whether you're a veteran GM diving into planar politics or a curious player who wants to gamble with the Fates (literally), this episode offers a treasure trove of inspiration. The Planescape campaign may be over, but its echoes will bounce around the multiverse—and the RPGBOT cast's brains—for a long time to come.

"The piece was about seeking answers or at least a response and receiving silence. There is a resignation or even frustration that is represented with the ebbing and flowing of the instruments. "Harmonium, guitar, saxophone, and Mellotron alongside a field recording of a call to prayer. Every time a melody would emerge, I would intentionally pull back as if the melody was an answer to the pleas from the instruments. It was challenging and somewhat frustrating, but I would audibly say “refrain” when things started to flow and bring that instrument to rest. This is a topic touched upon in Ingmar Bergman films: faith and silence." Nabeul call to prayer reimagined by Jeff Brown.

Harmonium je mnohohlasý vzduchový klávesový nástroj, podobný varhanám. Vznikl v 19. století a zdobil řady tehdejších domácností, kaváren a salonů. V srdci Prostějova v Olomouckém kraji najdete muzeum HARMONIUM - HISTORIE, které je jediným svého druhu v České republice a nabízí doposud jedinou stálou expozici těchto hudebních nástrojů ve střední Evropě.

Brooke and Tyler are joined by long-time Cosmere contributor and Arcanist Jofwu to discuss cognitive shadows' origins and complexities. Perhaps the fandom's most debated and speculated-upon question is "What are cognitive shadows and how do they work?" We look at different types of cognitive entities across various planets, categorize how they are created, and wonder whether or not a cognitive shadow is/was/or will be(!) a soul. #AllSpoilers Jofwu's Timeline Spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zq5bJoKE83ggDCjH43i1hZi0CIpB2iAx7v37zQPVFK0/edit?gid=856252766#gid=856252766) Interactive Map of Roshar (https://roshar.17thshard.com/#/en-US) Follow Jofwu on TikTok (https://www.tiktok.com/@jofwu17) Listen to Jofwu's recent episodes on Shardcast (https://youtu.be/gM-s7NtgMQY?si=KKq1e_wKWDi5kdQu) Support this podcast by becoming a Patron on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/CosmereConversations) Original music by David Gruwier (https://twitter.com/DGruwier). In this transformative episode, Jessica Gandolfi shares her incredible story of finding purpose, healing, and passion after a life-changing turning point. From sitting on the edge of her bed feeling lost at 45 to founding a wellness practice and creating tools to support children's emotional growth, Jess's journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, faith, and passion. Tune in to hear how moments of despair became the catalyst for growth, learn about the healing potential of Harmonium, and discover why Jess believes that there's always a way forward. Whether you're seeking inspiration or looking for tools to help navigate your own journey, this conversation is a must-listen!Jessica Headey Gandolfi has over 30 years experience in health, wellness, and education and has worked at some of the top spas and training centres across the globe. The combination of her passion for wellness, education, and being a full-time mummy is the origin to the inspiration that is now the Adventures of Monkey™. In 2017 Jessica established a private healing practice - Harmonyum LA. She is gifted and honoured to be able to see clients both in person, and globally, via zoom. It was through this practice that Jessica began to correlate the connection between the adult emotional imbalances she was seeing in her clients and their unresolved childhood trauma. Jessica published the first version of her book, ‘Monkey - Wishes Do Come True,' in 2019. This was the catalyst for her own healing journey, and subsequently, the creation of ‘Adventures Of Monkey™' and ‘Monkey Mood Boosters.' Realizing there was a gap in the market for a wellness tool that supported the emotional health of children during their formative years, Jessica has made it her mission and purpose to provide a system to help bridge that gap.Follow Jessica and her journey on InstagramDiscover Adventures of Monkey through their website If you enjoyed this episode, make sure and give us a five star rating and leave us a comment on iTunes, Podcast Addict, Podchaser and Castbox about what you'd like us to talk about that will help you realize that at any moment, any day, you too can decide, it's your turn!

Something's in the water because Dave's alarmingly "animated" about this episode! Sheriff Paul Billings and Deputy Hank are the Buddy-Cop duo we need. Judge Mary Meadows reveals some deeply held secrets (to Lukas Kyle) before she goes (Hi Avi Nash). Everyone, down to Shirley, is playing the game. Solo's story sounds suspicious.
