We cover the way in which Luke came to find Astrology and how it is used to illustrate to people their traits and tendencies. Dan has worked as a tradesman for over 17 years in the mining and construction industry and is passionate about providing training and resources to improve mental and physical health outcomes in our industry. “After many years of failing to self manage stress and fatigue which led to me to finding balance in all the wrong ways, I was taught how to meditate and most importantly gained education around stress management. The way in which my life has opened up is beyond anything I thought possible when I began and I am constantly finding myself in awe of how this simple daily practice brings so much benefit to everyone that does it”. Dan has spent the past 6 years going deep into the practice and knowledge of Meditation and Yoga. Becoming a certified 1GM Meditation teacher and accredited Yoga instructor. Following a curiosity to understand himself and purpose in the world he began a practice that allowed him to find connection to a deeper state of quiet or “Being” that wasn't dependent on the external circumstances of life. It also gave him awareness to see life from a fresh perspective which led Dan to find balance in ways that were more sustainable and life supporting. His mission in life is mental health support for tradespeople, he has decided to take his knowledge and experience to create a Workplace Wellness program especially designed for employees in the mining and construction industries. A program that is just as impactful for the tradespeople on site as it is for all levels of management and administration. These programs are effective, time/cost-efficient and designed to provide workers with very practical stress management tools, information and resources that empower them to feel and do better at work. In this episode we discuss his journey to becoming a meditation teacher, how this journey has effected his life on and off the job-site and his own mental health. We discuss his life now as a meditation teacher and what he hopes to achieve from it and the importance of meditation in peoples lives for stress relief and other health benefits. Rich is a family man, surfer, artist and lover of good health! His journey to this place of teaching people like you meditation has been a diverse ride. Along the way he has learnt so much about the world of people (as prickly as it can sometimes be…). As well as all aspects of a business – sales, marketing, communication, managing people, dealing with the worries of small businesses and cash flow headaches. Ahh, the ongoing stresses… the list goes on and on, yet it has borne great fruits. But with all that I had a yearning for something more. This yearning for more has led him to spend probably close to $100,000 in personal development. From becoming an NLP trainer, Yoga, therapy, breath training, personal and business coaching, Neuro Feedback, seminars upon seminars, online courses, meditation apps you name it, he has probably done it or looked into it. This constant search eventually ended up at meditation, and is so, so humbled to have the karma which opened him to this gift. And there has been nothing that has brought as much joy, creativity, love, laughter and peace to his life as Vedic Meditation. Rich is the owner of the meditation spot where he teaches people the technique of vedic meditation. He is also the co creator of the happy mind project which incorporates many modes of meditation, mindfulness and breathwork. Phil Kayumba, one of the best humans i have ever had the privilege to sit down and connect with. Phil's story is inspiring, harrowing, and almost indescribable. Growing up as a displaced refugee, Phil spent much of his childhood away at boarding schools and elite soccer camps. An effort by his parents to shelter him from the war and bloodshed in his home country. After fleeing Rwanda into Uganda, eventually making his way to Australia. Phil takes up studying in Melbourne to only have his visa, passport and home citizenship torn up as the president cancelled all of his families papers in an effort to get back at Phil's father. While all this is happening, Phil is informed he is going to be a father. His reaction and stoic view on the situation is inspiring and should be a lesson to any young man out there that gets a woman pregnant. To say Phil has had his fair share of ups and downs is a gross understatement. The man you hear today is a guy who has been moulded by every encounter and experience along the way. So many times he could have ended his own life and just given up. If you'd like to connect with Phil he can be reached at Instagram https://www.instagram.com/midnightyogi/ https://www.instagram.com/vulnerablemen/ http://www.vulnerablemen.com.au/ As always if you could rate and review the podcast. Julze has such an epic story and journey from scrapping for food and doing the weekly market stall rounds, selling his Serendipity superfoods. To a guy who now has product in almost every health and whole foods stores. We talk about where he came from, living on the streets, living on the dole, and pleading with centrelink to give him time to time to get his NEIS program off the ground. After many set backs, he and his business partner Dan finally get that turning point at a health and wellness show. This point is when they began to see the benefits of all the hard work. Julze spent so many days reading The greatest salesman in the world - Og Mandino. He definitely lives and loves this book. It'll be one i'm adding to my reading list. His 3 points that you as the listener can implement into your life are amazing.
