The ANZ Bank has changed its official cash rate (OCR) forecast, now expecting the first cut to arrive in February, rather than May 2025. Meanwhile, The European Central Bank has cut interest rates for the first time in five years, and the Bank of Canada has become the first G7 nation to cut rates. ANZ Chief Economist Sharon Zollner told Heather du Plessis-Allan “Essentially the Reserve bank's mandate is to get inflation under control.” Zollner said “It's the mix of inflation that matters – oil price is the biggie, which they can't influence. But homegrown inflation is very slow to fall.” LISTEN ABOVE. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Economists at our biggest bank expect the Reserve Bank will increase the Official Cash Rate. ANZ's changed its forecast, now predicting 25 basis point hikes in February and in April. That would take the OCR to six percent -- from its current 5.5. ANZ chief economist Sharon Zollner told Heather du Plessis Allan that the Reserve Bank said it was very close to hiking it again in November. She says since then, a series of small but consistent surprises suggest inflation will take long to get back to target. LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome to Her Ambitious Career, the personal branding and success podcast for corporate women who want to get promoted, be sought out for their expertise and be paid appropriately for their impact.Hi there! I'm Rebecca Allen and I am a Executive & Personal Brand Coach and I have a real passion for getting to the heart of my clients' issues...Which can often boil down to understanding their values. And this is the final part of a 3-part series all about our VALUES...In Part 1, I came to you to talk about how being overly RESPONSIBLE could actually be sabotaging you and adding to your overwork. Listen to that Ep #110 here. And in Part 2, I talked about LOYALTY as a value and how allowing that value to trump your own needs can actually hold you back too. Listen to that Ep#111 here.So today, in Part 3, we are discussing the PERFECTION value...Which on the face of it, appears to have a positive intention to help you deliver outstanding work, right? However it also brings with it a great deal of disappointment (when you or others don't meet expectations), stress and self-criticism... which can be extremely unhelpful!! Here's something interesting I said in this ep! :)"Over-prioritising 'perfect outcomes' means you'll always be disappointed because perfect outcomes are, by their very nature, impossible to achieve. And whilst you're chasing 'perfect' your peers will be chasing 'really great' outcomes and using the time they save to get ahead faster in their careers." Every year, I work with between 40 and 50 women on a 1:1 basis... which doesn't include the fabulous ladies in our Thought Leaders Masterclass groups or our Inner Circle memberships... It's a busy, busy world at Illuminate! And within those 1:1 clients these last 12 months...80%+ were promoted or landed new internal roles40%+ successfully negotiated pay rises or improved financial packagesAlmost all of my clients reported:A positive shift in perception that key stakeholders had of themAnd a shift in confidence in I don't know about you - but those results are something to be proud of!Here's something interesting I said in this ep! :)"The shift in confidence that so many of my clients experience is profound. I'm Rebecca Allen and I am a Executive & Personal Brand Coach who works with my clients to help them, first and foremost, get really aware of how they see the world and see themselves too. This is part 2 of a 3-part series about our VALUES...Last time (in Part 1)...I came to you to talk about how being overly responsible could actually be sabotaging you and adding to your overwork... listen to that Ep #110 here.Well, today we are talking about the value of loyalty...And how being overly loyal can again prevent you from achieving everything you really want in your career. And then what about loyalty bias too? How does that play into this dynamic? Here's something interesting I said in this ep! :)"Loyalty bias is the inherent assumption - or bias - made by other people that you'll be most likely to remain loyal to your organisation even if they keep rejecting your requests for promotion. India is due to release its second quarter GDP results next week, which some economists have estimated could come in as high as 7% growth. What's buoying the world's fifth largest economy, at a time when the outlook for major economies like the US, China, Japan and the Eurozone is less optimistic? We discuss the trends with Sanjay Mathur, Chief Economist for India and Southeast Asia with ANZ Bank.Image credit: Shutterstock.com

I'm Rebecca Allen and I am a Career & Personal Brand coach who works with my clients to help them thrive in their roles and build their executive profiles... which often requires us to do some work on their mindset. We all have values that are important to us but...What happens if staying true to one of your own values actually causes you stress or holds you back in some way?For example, overly-responsible people can have a really difficult, even anxious, time...And in today's ep I am going to be talking about the fact that there are 'healthy' levels of responsibility... As well as 'unhealthy' levels where you become overwhelmed, taken advantage of by other people or are drowning in overwork. Here's something interesting I said in this ep! :)"If you are overly responsible, it can lead to burnout especially if you continue to accept more responsibility (despite knowing you shouldn't). I'm Rebecca Allen and I am a Career & Personal Brand coach who works with my clients to help them thrive in their roles and build their executive profiles... which often requires us to do some work on their mindset.A common challenge that many of these smart, qualified, high-achieving women encounter is the 'need to be liked'.In this episode I am diving deep to explain the difference between 'wanting' and 'needing' to be liked...And how wanting to be liked is actually really healthy and productive... Whilst needing to be liked just brings with it untold anxiety and feelings of inadequacy. Here's something interesting I said in this ep! :)"Needing to be liked, where the expectation is that everyone will like you (as well as everything you say) means you're always seeking control and certainty… which just sets you up to fail because in reality, we have none of either." Hi there! I am Rebecca Allen and I am a Career & Personal Brand coach who works with my clients to help them thrive in their roles and build their executive profiles as they do it... Today we are exploring 10 common challenges leaders face that can result in feelings of stress...· Uncertainty· Expectations· Changing goalposts· Difficult people.... to name a few.I am going to share some strategies today to help you reduce your feelings of overwhelm and stress by following my simple '5 Cs' process to help you turn a perceived 'stressful' situation into a positive, objective solution-solving mission! Here's something interesting I said in this ep! :) "A situation can be 'challenging' and 'full of a myriad of problems'. However how we choose to perceive that situation is what prompts us to react either positively, with a step-by-step solution mindset that leads to a feeling of control... or to react in a defeated, overwhelmed mindset that leads to a feeling of stress." (Rebecca Allen, Career Success Coach and host of Her Ambitious Career podcast) This is about moving from an emotional standpoint and saying "a situation is stressful"... To... "this is a tricky situation [objective perspective] and how I choose to approach it won't make me feel stressed... but objective and optimistic!"
