The Murder Police Podcast is an incredible true crime podcast that delves into homicide investigations with a level of depth and authenticity rarely seen in other forms of media. Unlike television shows that wrap up investigations neatly in one hour, this podcast takes the time to explore each case thoroughly. The cases and stories covered are truly amazing, and they are told with such passion and emotion that you feel like a part of the conversation.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the fact that it gets its information straight from the officers who worked each case. David Lyons, with his law enforcement background, brings a unique perspective to the discussions, while Wendy provides a civilian viewpoint. Their dynamic as hosts is engaging and keeps listeners hooked throughout each episode. Additionally, the podcast always remains respectful of the victims and their families, which is essential when discussing such sensitive topics.

Another standout feature of The Murder Police Podcast is its deep dive into cases that have real lives at stake. It uncovers facts and details that would not normally be known or discussed in mainstream media coverage. This attention to detail and commitment to providing accurate information sets this podcast apart from others in the genre.

In terms of drawbacks, it can be said that The Murder Police Podcast may not be for everyone. True crime podcasts can be intense and may not be suitable for those who are easily disturbed by graphic descriptions or sensitive subject matter. However, for true crime enthusiasts who appreciate well-researched content with a focus on justice and victim advocacy, this podcast is top-notch.

In conclusion, The Murder Police Podcast stands out as one of the best true crime podcasts out there. With its dedication to accuracy, respect for victims' families, and insightful discussions with law enforcement professionals, it offers a unique perspective on homicide investigations. Whether you're a seasoned true crime fan or new to the genre, this podcast will surely captivate you with its compelling storytelling and informative content.

The Murder Police Podcast is a hobby for Wendy and David; a chance to speak with feeling about homicide investigations, the curiosity they draw and lift victims of violent crime up to be remembered with respect, as more that a Uniform Crime Reporting number or statistic. One goal from the beginning was that if the podcast ever generated any revenue, large or small, charitable giving would be a must. With the opening of a merch and store on the horizon in 2022, it was time. The Murder Police Podcast Focus Group, “The Squad”, was asked for suggestions for charities that had a broad reach helping victims of violent crime and their families. The Squad came through with many great suggestions with one standing out: The DNA Doe Project.  Our decision was cinched up with our interview with Sgt. ‘Cat' Catalano with the Santa Clara Sheriff's Office in California, as she detailed the identification of Patricia Skiple in April 2022.  Patricia was an unidentified victim of the Happy Face serial killer and went 30 years without a name, though her killer was convicted of her murder. The DNA Doe project is a non-profit organization focusing on the identification of human remains.  They work with law enforcement agencies to make specialized DNA sampling and testing and research to bring answers to family members and move cases forward. The DNA Doe project can be assisted through donation and or volunteering (imagine working a case and finding answers!).  And a huge help is to upload your DNA test results to GEDMatch or Family Tree DNA to add to the database and improve the likelihood of identifying people.Take a listen to this episode and hear Carienn Binder, the Director of the Director of Education and Development at DNA Doe Project, talk about the project and how we all can help.Learn more about the DNA Doe Project.Shop for Murder Police Podcast swag by clicking HERE today! 10% of ALL swag and merch proceeds are donated to the DNA Doe Project.

In this 4th and final episode, you will here a great amount of detail.  So much that we caution the listener and remind everyone that we should always focus on the victim and their surviving family and remember that graphic descriptions are only given on this podcast to set the context for challenges in investigations. For example, in cases where a body has decomposed, how are fingerprints taken? And if the condition is so poor that DNA sampling (over 20 years ago) cannot be made from the victim, are there alternatives? We move through the autopsy findings, more evidence, prosecution and even an appeal. And in the end, Paul Williams and Billy Richmond sum up most murders as attributable to greed, and the killer using a permanent solution to a temporary problem, destroying lives around them.As always, thank you for listening and remembering Mr. Aubrey Nuckolls. The Murder of Aubrey Nuckolls | Part 1 of 4 | 10/25/2022The Murder of Aubrey Nuckolls | Part 2 of 4 | 11/1/2022The Murder of Aubrey Nuckolls | Part 3 of 4 | 11/8/2022The Murder of Aubrey Nuckolls | Part 4 of 4 | 11/15/2022Shop for Murder Police Podcast swag by clicking HERE today! 10% of ALL swag and merch proceeds are donated to the DNA Doe Project.

Sometimes, this thing called reality crashes into our lives. In February 2022, Wendy lost her literal best friend, Angie, to a Domestic Violence murder in Nicholasville Kentucky.  Angie was shot to death by her husband, who turned the gun on himself and died at his own hand. The thing about True Crime is that it is alluring for so many reasons.  Deciphering case details, maybe even asking ‘what I would do if I was a detective', are part of a natural human curiosity.  For most enthusiast, there is also the age old battle of wrapping our minds around the why when one human kills another.  What is evil?  But, when it comes to close to home…Over three episodes, Wendy tells a story that she never in a million years though she would be telling, much less, as a True Crime podcast host.  She does though, and lifts Angie up for people to know, talks about the red flags that we see in domestic violence cases and the helplessness that friends might feel as things spiral downward as they watch. If you are a victim of any type of domestic violence abuse, get help right                  away.  Your feeling of helplessness, lack of power, hopelessness and  depression were likely cultivated in you by your abuser.  There are answers.  There are strategies.  There is a better way.If you have a friend in this situation; be the friend they need.Anyone can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233, and explore options and services at https://www.thehotline.org/.Show Notes, including transcripts are found at https://murderpolicepodcast.com/show-notes/. The Murder of Angela Owens Wooldridge | Part 1 of 3 | Tuesday March 8, 2022The Murder of Angela Owens Wooldridge | Part 2 of 3 | Tuesday March 15, 2022The Murder of Angela Owens Wooldridge | Part 3 of 3 | Tuesday March 22, 2022Smells Like HumansLike spending time with funny friends talking about curious human behavior.
