After 45 years, Cold Case Investigations have made a breakthrough in the murder of 22-year-old Kerryn Tate. In this podcast, Cold Case Western Australia host Neil Poh will take listeners behind the scenes of the extraordinary investigation that led detectives to identify Terence John Fisher as a significant suspect in Kerryn's brutal murder. Cold Case Western Australia followers will recall Kerryn's murder was examined by Poh in an earlier episode for the series. In that first episode, he spoke to Kerryn's siblings about the ongoing impact of the crime. In this new and exclusive podcast, Poh again speaks to Kerryn's siblings – but this time they speak of their reaction to having some answers about their sister's death. Kerryn Tate's badly burnt body was discovered at Karragullen on 30 December 1979. She'd been bludgeoned to death and then set on fire.   Kerryn had come to Western Australia from New South Wales following the death of one of her baby twins, but her search for a new life was ended in the most brutal of circumstances.Want to help us solve cases just like these? Season 4 of The Murder Police Podcast was about as education as a death investigation podcast can get.We covered Forensic Pathology with Dr. Greg Davis, The Murder of Joseph Trevor Dilger (the art of Murder and Arson investigation to bring justice). Cold Case Investigations with Detective Rob Wilson and Missing Persons 101 with Detective David Hester. All of these will have the listener prepared for the journey The Murder Police Podcast is about to embark on next.Season 5 will bring missing and unsolved cases on board, adding them to the case investigations everyone is used to hearing. The first case will be Michael Gorley, an adult man missing from Kentucky for the last 6 years, and the family presumes murdered.  You will hear that despite having a last known location, witnesses to his presence there and a tight (but suspiciously wavering) timeline; Michael goes unfound. It is way passed time that the mystery of what happened to Michael, comes to a close.Join The Murder Police Podcast as we continue to advocate for crime victims, and educate the listener on how true crime, is really investigated.Go to the Murder Police Podcast Merch Store HERE

There are more than 250,000 unsolved murders in the United States and law enforcement simply does not have the personnel or resources to investigate all of them. As a result, average citizens, private investigators, and the media have come together to help reinvestigate many of these cold cases. In this episode, Glynn Cosker talks to AMU criminal justice and forensic science professor, Jen Bucholtz, about her work as a private investigator to investigate several cold cases. Learn how she has used the power of crowdsourcing and social media to engage people and uncover new information, and how advancements in DNA technology and forensic genealogy are helping police solve more cases. Also hear why it's so important for law enforcement agencies to embrace the assistance of outside sources to help bring justice for the families of these victims. In early February of 2012, Colleen Margaret Povey was in the final days of her breast cancer battle. As her family surrounded her hospital bedside, her eyes remained fixed on the door, desperately searching for the faces of her daughter and granddaughter whom she hadn't seen in nearly three and a half years. As Colleen's body became weaker, she squeezed her husband Scott's hand and asked; ‘Is Karlie and Khandalyce here yet?' These were Colleen Povey's final words, and within hours she passed away at the age of just 44. This is the heartbreaking story of 20-year-old Karlie Pearce-Stevenson, and her 2-year-old daughter Khandalyce Pearce. For links, click here!
