Kimberly McCrae is the founder and facilitator of the Ministry of Black Women's Self-Care. As a victim and survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault, Kimberly found healing and freedom in God and in the power of words. She uses them through her poetry, song and ministry to speak life, uplift, and create the space for black women to find healing and wholeness. In this candid interview, we explored the challenging paths she has traveled on her spiritual journey. From growing up as Pastor's Kid steeped in the Pentecostal Religion, to feeling disconnected from God after being raped at the age of 17. Kimberly uncovered her own truth when she was introduced to Womanism which changed her life in miraculous ways. This new perspective helped her to bridge the gap that led her to spiritual harmony and her divine purpose which is to minister to the hearts of black women .
