From there they get into the math of compounding, including the magic penny example where losing a single day at the end costs you $2.6 million, and why a real plan with five to seven years of safe income lets you keep your growth assets ripping instead of chopping off the most valuable years of the curve.Chapters: 00:00 – Opening segment 02:40 – Why airline pilots need specialized planning 04:50 – Headwinds, tailwinds, and fixing behavior first 06:15 – Market timing and the "market is too expensive" trap 07:25 – Optimism is the only realism 08:40 – "This time is different" is the bait that ruins investors 10:00 – Why average rate of return means nothing 11:55 – The dollar milkshake theory explained 18:15 – True diversification is across asset classes, not sectors 18:40 – IBC and the collapse of the dollar: hedging against being wrong 24:00 – Reality will keep slapping your predictions in the face 27:00 – Bad life insurance advice is dished out freely 33:15 – Maximize fixed income to keep equity allocation high 33:50 – The real multiplier math: 12x at 10 years, 66x at 30 38:45 – The magic penny: losing day 30 costs you $2.6 million 42:30 – Five to seven years of safe income keeps you aggressive 43:50 – Market at all-time highs while everyone feels uneasy 47:10 – Dry powder: going conservative with new money only 48:05 – A mortgage from 2000 and what 2050 will look like 52:15 – The K-shaped economy and playing the rules as written 58:30 – Closing segmentKey Takeaways:Average rate of return means nothing. Volatility, sequence of returns, and inflation all destroy the simple spreadsheet math of dragging 8% across cells. Build a robust portfolio for total lifetime return instead of chasing an annual average. The last years of compounding are the most valuable, so don't chop them off. A penny doubled daily hits $5.3 million in 30 days, but losing just day 30 costs you $2.6 million. Target date funds that dial down growth near retirement are cutting the curve at its steepest point.Preservation without a plan is its own loss. A 63-year-old who went to all cash out of fear missed out on roughly $1 million of growth in two years. His account never went down, but it went down from what it should have been.Five to seven years of safe income is the unlock. Between IBC policy cash value, cash savings, and conservative new contributions, you can weather the worst market stretches without selling equities at a loss, which lets you stay aggressive for a long, long time.Everyone who bet on the dollar collapsing has been wrong so far. Gold, raw land, and the fortified homestead all require dollars to acquire. Hedge against being wrong by optimizing your dollar acquisition and preservation either way.
https://teachhoops.com/ If you audit a standard, average basketball practice, you will witness a massive amount of invisible time leaking out of the gym. You will see a coach blow the whistle, call the players over, and lean against a wall for seven minutes lecturing about a new entry action while twelve athletes stand completely still, watching their physical core temperatures drop. Then, they split into a single-file line where one player executes a repetition while eleven others watch passively from the sideline. Time is the ultimate currency for a program builder. If your practice design is slow, loose, and lecture-heavy, you aren't just wasting gym time—you are actively coding sluggish habits, mental passivity, and zero-signal noise into your roster. In this episode, we step directly into the "Truth Room" to break down how to use your practice time with absolute precision. We move past basic time-blocking and dive into the analytics of Activity Density and structural design. Discover how to leverage your staff lenses to eliminate dead time, maximize repetitions, and build a high-transfer learning environment that slides your team out of coach-fed compliance and into a player-led championship standard. To squeeze every ounce of development out of your clock, your script must be treated as a rigid, chronological engine. The Organizer on your staff polices the clock down to the exact second, completely eliminating long huddle transitions or slow water breaks. The Setup: Banish quiet stretching lines from your vocabulary. Players immediately execute high-tempo dynamic activation sequences across the full layout of the hardwood. The Velocity: This block is used to set the environmental tone. Players must continuously shout out defensive alerts through their physical movements, forcing high vocal energy into the rafters before a basketball even bounces. The Setup: High-speed handling, spatial passing, and finishing tracks. The Constraint: Traditional lines are an operational failure. Every drill track must feature a Multi-Ball design. If you have twelve players on the floor, at least 70% of them must be moving, catching, or passing concurrently across multiple baskets. The Return: High rep density completely eliminates boredom leaks and forces your players to communicate through the exhaust to keep the gears turning. The Setup: Instead of running 5-on-0 scripted walkthroughs where players act like robotic pieces on a chessboard, you break the floor into contextual 2-on-2, 3-on-3, or 4-on-4 structural shells. The Constraint: Put tight, socratic constraints on the game play (e.g., maximum 2 dribbles per touch, or the ball must touch the high-low paint seam within 4 seconds). The Goal: This forces your players to read the defender's hips independently. It spikes their independent Decision IQ and Next Play Speed under pressure without a coach using a joystick from the baseline. The Setup: 5-on-5 half-court and full-court system alignment. This is where you implement your primary cutting geometry or your defensive coverages (such as an aggressive match-up zone or a trapping shell). The Rule: You must hold an unyielding Standard of Tolerance. If a defender fails to close out with High Hands or a player displays bad body language after an error, The Antagonist on your staff stops the clock instantly. You address it in the "Truth Room," execute a quick "drive-by" technical correction on the move, and demand an immediate reset. The Setup: Full-court situational scrimmage puzzles (e.g., down 4 with 45 seconds remaining and zero timeouts). The Filter: Never run your critical shooting blocks or execution scripts at the beginning of practice when everyone is perfectly fresh. We intentionally place them at the absolute end when legs are heavy and lungs are burning. This builds authentic Resilience Equity, forcing players to lock into their mechanics and maximize their Effective Field Goal Percentage (eFG%) under extreme fatigue: Coach's Note: "You don't build an elite basketball program by the length of time you spend in the gym; you build it by the focus and intensity you jam into the minutes you have. If your practice script allows for conversational laziness, silent shells, or long blocks of standing around, you are actively training your kids to fade under pressure on Friday night. Clean up your clock management, unleash your staff lenses, maximize your rep density, and demand that your players own the room." Recorded June 30, 2026, this episode covers how TrackRak works, why Carrie built the tool, and how customizable text and email alerts can help users avoid missing elevated Rakuten offers. Carrie explains her frugal background, how she got into points and miles, and why she wanted to create a simple Rakuten-only solution for tracking shopping portal rates. Carrie explains that TrackRak scans Rakuten rates throughout the day and uses smart alerts to avoid sending repeated notifications for the same elevated rate. The site also includes a suggestion box, top-20 deals, and historical rate charts with about 600 days of data, with the goal of eventually showing around three years of historical Rakuten rate history. In reality, many practices already have the patients, technology, and team needed to increase revenue—they just aren't using those resources consistently. In this episode, I connect with Andrea Watkins, VP of Practice Growth at Studio 3 Marketing, to discuss how stronger systems, better follow-up strategies, and a more intentional patient experience can unlock growth without constantly increasing marketing spend. Sometimes the fastest path to practice growth starts by making better use of what's already in front of you. Stop Treating Every Patient Like a One-Time Visit Every appointment should move the relationship forward. Whether that means introducing a treatment plan, discussing complementary services, or scheduling the next visit before the patient leaves, each interaction should create a clear next step. When your med spa practice relies too heavily on individual appointments or a la carte services, you miss opportunities to improve patient outcomes and patient retention. Long-term treatment plans create a better experience for patients while increasing provider confidence, revenue growth, and loyalty over time. Your Patient List Is One of Your Most Valuable Assets Many practices spend significant time on lead generation while overlooking patients who already know, like, and trust them. Patient re-engagement campaigns, referral programs, EMR reporting tools, and CRM systems can all help reconnect with patients who are overdue for treatment or ready for their next service. Build treatment plans instead of one-time services Re-engage inactive patients through your EMR or CRM Rebook appointments before patients leave the office Introduce surgical patients to non-surgical treatments Use referral programs to encourage patient advocacy Train every team member to support the patient journey These small improvements create a stronger patient experience while increasing retention, provider utilization, and long-term revenue. Growth doesn't always require more visibility. Sometimes it requires better visibility into your own database. Build Systems That Support Accountability Practice scaling depends on more than great providers. Every member of the team should understand their role in the patient journey, from lead management and scheduling to follow-up and patient education. Clear expectations, staff training, and defined processes create consistency that benefits both patients and the practice. When responsibilities are shared instead of assumed, it becomes much easier to improve conversion rates, strengthen marketing attribution, and create a patient experience that builds trust. Sustainable Growth Starts with Better Processes Healthy practices don't rely on a single marketing campaign or one standout provider to drive results. They build repeatable systems that strengthen every stage of the customer journey—from the first inquiry to patient referrals, ongoing treatment plans, and long-term loyalty. As your practice grows, those systems become the foundation for expanding locations, increasing revenue, and creating a more valuable business. Strong operations don't just improve today's performance—they make future growth much easier to sustain. He had 16 years in the corporate world. The career, the salary, the title, the network. And the whole time, the voice got louder. So he walked away, to spend his days teaching high school kids how to invest, network, and interview. The skills school skips and life punishes you for not knowing. The gap between knowing and doing is almost never about information. This episode is about what it actually is. Alex Dripchak is the founder of the Commence Foundation, a 2x published author, and one of the most practical productivity thinkers George has had on this show. In this conversation, they unpack why knowledge without application is a liability, how habits actually form, and the simple systems that turn intention into consistent action. What You'll Learn In This Episode: The three biggest reasons people fail to act, even when they want to change Why 18 days is the minimum, 66 is the average, and 254 is the long haul for real habits How to build a hurricane-proof why that holds when motivation runs out Alex's prioritization system for turning books into applied knowledge The marble jar method: a dead-simple way to make habits visible and stick Why excellent beats exact and when chasing perfect is the real productivity problem How to audit your goals quarterly before they become guilt trips Key Takeaways: ✔️Missing once is an accident. Missing twice is the start of a new habit. Most people track their streaks, almost nobody tracks their misses. ✔️The only real safeguard to success is starting early. Whatever the skill, compound interest applies. ✔️Knowledge that isn't applied isn't an asset, it's a liability. Shelf help doesn't help anyone. ✔️Reps plus emotional charge is what makes anything stick. Emotion is the glue, not the motivation. ✔️Excellent is greater than exact. Chasing perfection is often just a productivity disguise for avoidance. ✔️If you couldn't tell anyone you were doing something for the rest of your life, would you still do it? That's the hurricane-proof why test. ✔️The marble jar: write the goal on the jar, drop a marble in for every completed rep, and spill the marbles out when you miss. Make the win visible and the loss inconvenient. ✔️A prescription is only as effective as the person's willingness to take it on schedule. The Efficient Advisor: Tactical Business Advice for Financial Planners
This week, I'm joined once again by Adam Holt, founder of Asset-Map, for a conversation every advisor needs to hear. We dive into one of the biggest challenges facing advisory firms today: technology adoption. It's easy to get excited about a new tool, but it's much harder to fully integrate it into your business and unlock its true value. We talk about why so many advisors end up underutilizing the software they already own, how successful firms approach implementation differently, and what it really takes to become a student of the tools that can help you scale. In this episode, you'll learn:Why buying a tool is only the first investment—and why the real ROI comes from the time and energy spent learning how to use it effectivelyHow top-performing advisors avoid "just-in-time learning" and instead create intentional systems for training, adoption, and ongoing masteryThe role advisors should continue to play in fact-finding conversations, even when they delegate data entry and planning support to their teamA practical framework for evaluating your technology stack during CEO time, including how to identify underutilized tools, eliminate unnecessary complexity, and maximize the value of what you already haveWhether you're considering a new piece of technology or wondering if you're getting enough value from the tools you already pay for, this episode will challenge you to think differently about implementation. The advisors who get the biggest results aren't necessarily using the most tools—they're becoming experts at the right ones. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by technology or frustrated by software adoption, this conversation will help you build a more intentional approach to your tech stack and your business.Join the Systems to Scale Group Coaching Program HERE! Human trafficking can take on many forms, and, in most instances, is hiding in plain sight. Victims may be suffering in your child's school, sports team, or youth group, and others may be in your neighborhood or workplace. The hardest to detect may be in your family or even your place of worship. Never think you or your family are immune to the painful effects of trafficking. It is a crime that truly spreads beyond the victim and creates a devastating toll on individuals, families, and communities. Linda explores this topic with her guest, Tami Brown Rodriquez, CEO of Untrafficked, an organization advancing trafficking prevention and digital safety, intervention and victim recovery, survivor-centered solutions, and policy reforms to strengthen penalties for perpetrators of child exploitation and trafficking. Listen to learn of helpful resources for education, prevention, intervention, and healing. The Evidence Based Chiropractor- Chiropractic Marketing and Research
In today's episode, we dive into one of the most overlooked aspects of running a successful clinic: your payment processing system. Detroit fans wanted answers on Myles Garrett and why the Detroit Lions were not in the middle of it. The conversation laid out a tight timeline, guarded intentions, and a market that only cracked open very late. It was not an open auction. It was a narrow window. Why Detroit Stayed Quiet The show framed the local frustration clearly. People in Detroit felt miffed that the Lions were not involved or did not appear to be. The discussion pushed back. At the combine, the response to any Garrett inquiry was simple. Nothing had changed. The Browns were not moving him. That posture held until very recently. The message to other NFL teams was firm. There was no plan to trade Myles Garrett. Without a signal from Cleveland, there was no reason for Detroit to force a market that did not exist. The Browns' Playbook for Leverage Why the late shift? The Browns wanted options, not a fire sale. Trading a player like Jared Verst was used as the example of rarity. A rookie contract edge rusher with two years of All Pro play and a Defensive Rookie of the Year on the shelf does not get moved. Valuation on that archetype ranged wildly. First and a third. First and a second. Two firsts. Maybe four. That spread underscores how unusual this type of deal would be. The front office approach was explained as aggressive and win focused, not a tear down. They pushed big money back to keep doors open in case a trade surfaced. They also explored whether the NFL would allow five years of future picks instead of three. That ask served two purposes. Maximize what could come back in a Garrett deal. Preserve flexibility to go get a quarterback like Arch Manning as a hypothetical, even if one of the picks landed as far out as 2032. Who Actually Knocked The market finally stirred. The Los Angeles Rams were very aggressive. The Philadelphia Eagles were communicative. The Dallas Cowboys were mentioned. That is where the real dialogue lived late. It tracks with why the Lions did not make noise. The window opened fast and selective. The Browns' valuation was unconventional and steep. Put together, the NFL puzzle looked like this. No movement at the combine. No real plan to trade. Then a late-stage effort to expand trade mechanics and push money around. Only a few teams engaged with the nerve and the capital. Detroit kept its powder dry while the Browns tested the ceiling of leverage. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #mylesgarrett #clevelandbrowns #jimschwartz #drewpetzing #garretttrade #denzelward #petzingscheme Learn more about your ad choices. What simple daily habits can help you protect your metabolism as you age? In this episode, I explain why focusing entirely on standard scale weight is deeply damaging to your metabolism and overall long-term health. I share actionable insights into why we must shift our perspective toward a muscle-first approach by diligently tracking true body composition over time. Ultimately, while chronological aging is an inevitable privilege, maintaining a vibrant, strong, and powerful body remains a deliberate choice you can make every day. What you'll learn: (01:20) Focus on true body composition rather than traditional weight loss to avoid damaging your metabolic health. (06:07) Understand how poorly designed companion diets alongside GLP-1 medications can trigger severe skeletal muscle loss. (08:59) Discover why building skeletal muscle functions beautifully as metabolic Spanx and a critical sugar sponge for your body. (14:02) Learn the startling rate at which women lose muscle size, overall strength, and explosive power starting at age thirty. (15:29) Implement simple objective office measurements like grip strength or the sit-to-stand test to track physical muscle quality. (25:09) Maximize your physical transformation by balancing the three foundational pillars of muscle development: fuel, movement, and recovery. (27:51) Adjust your calculated daily protein goals to target body weight parameters that successfully overcome age-related anabolic resistance. (45:45) Capitalize on small daily increments of vigorous intermittent lifestyle physical activity to drastically lower all-cause mortality risks. Love the podcast?
