Between 1978 and 1983 Dennis Nilsen killed 15 men in London, England. He was only found out because of plumbing issues in his apartment building that lead to a grisly discovery. In 1998 21 year old Matthew Shepard left a bar in Laramie, Wyoming with two men who committed a hate crime against him so horrible that it still resonates with the LGBTQ community to this day. Anita Cobby was abducted and brutally murdered when she was walking home from the train station in Blacktown, NSW, Australia. Who could be so deranged to commit such a terrible crime?Years earlier, in 1968, another deranged killer roamed the streets of Salem, Oregon, killing at least four women. First up is Rodney Halbower, The Gypsy Hills Killer, who murdered between 2 and 5 women in 1976. His weapon of choice was a knife, so he also acquired the nickname The San Mateo Slasher. Further north, in Canada between 1983 and 2002, is the case of more than 40 women who went missing in the Downtown Eastside neighborhood of Vancouver, but their bodies were never found.
