Drei Schüsse. Drei Mal verfehlt.

This week, we're swimming through a tidal wave of chaos, starting with the rollercoaster of comments I've been getting lately. Last week, Jeanette was tossing shade, but this week, the love is flowing from RC Kelly and Cordell—though my new pal Munchlax hit me with an iconic "you're so gay." Thanks, buddy. Real helpful.Meanwhile, Elon Musk is under attack (again), and naturally, he's blaming mental illness for people blowing up Teslas and spray-painting swastikas on superchargers. Shocker, right? Apparently, it's not because people might be a teensy bit upset about Doge-related cuts affecting veterans, food banks, medical research, or that accidental cancellation of Ebola research funding. "Oopsie" doesn't quite cut it, Elon. And speaking of Doge, Musk and his buddy Trump's latest financial freeze means farmers and nonprofits like Passa in Pennsylvania haven't received funding for months. Now, their employees can't get paid—which means neither can I. Elon, bro, now you've crossed the line by messing with my wallet. What are we doing? In lighter news (well, sort of), I stumbled onto American Idol after like 17 years, only to realize it's basically TikTok auditions now. Nobody actually "wins," except maybe Kelly Clarkson, but that's ancient history. This week, viral TikTok star Sophie Powers performed her masterpiece, "Shut the F*** Up," which I hate to admit actually slaps. Laundry, groceries, traffic—shut up indeed. Still, the show's become nothing more than influencers trying desperately to make a 60-second viral clip.Of course, no episode is complete without food opinions. The MD Foodie Boys debated wings, and let's just say if you're ordering honey barbecue, we're not friends. Shout-out to Alibis in Carlisle for perfect wings, RIP thanks to a drunk college kid. Wingstop's lazy employees ruined my order so many times they put my name on the wall—free wings forever, I guess? Haven't cashed in yet; don't want to seem petty. Finally, in tech news, the Pebble smartwatch is back from the dead—thankfully without any AI nonsense. It has a 30-day battery, looks retro-cool, and is totally open-source. Apple, take notes: my wrist is ready.*************************************************************✅BLUECHEW - FIRST ORDER FREE Only $5 Shippinghttps://wawdpod.com/blue*************************************************************✅DUDEROBE - PROMO CODE: WAWD 20% OFFhttps://duderobe.com - promo code: WAWD
What kind of investigator looks at 22 stab wounds—some after death—and still calls it a suicide? That's the mystery we're unraveling today in the baffling case of Ellen Greenberg. For 14 years, logic has been tossed out the window while officials stuck to a ruling that defies all reason. But now, finally, something has shifted: the very medical examiner who once deemed Ellen's death a suicide has reversed course, admitting that the manner of death should be reconsidered. Retired FBI Special Agent Robin Dreeke joins us to dissect the investigative red flags, behavioral patterns, and the infuriating lack of action that allowed this case to sit unresolved for over a decade. From untested DNA and missing fingerprints to a complete failure to investigate possible suspects, the gaps in this case are as glaring as they are disturbing. Was this a colossal failure of the system, or was someone pulling the strings to ensure Ellen's death remained classified as a suicide? And now that the truth is finally starting to crack through the surface—who's about to be held accountable? #EllenGreenberg #TrueCrime #HiddenKillers #JusticeForEllen #FBIAnalysis #CrimeCoverUp #MurderMystery Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
Can fliegt, der BVB verliert! Join Wayne Giles as he reads and expands on the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, offering deeper understanding and practical advice for those on their recovery journey. In this Step 1 AA session, Wayne dives into the concept of a psychic change and the realization that human aid alone cannot bring about the transformation needed for recovery. He touches on the importance of moving beyond the alibis and excuses that often accompany a relapse, emphasizing that these rationalizations are weak when faced with the destructive power of alcoholism.“If you ask him why he started on that last bender, the chances are he will offer you any one of a hundred alibis. Anybody have a bunch of alibis? You know what I mean—excuses like, ‘I lost my job,' or ‘The old lady left me.' But in the light of the havoc an alcoholic's drinking bout causes, these excuses seem pretty weak—ridiculous at times, right?”Wayne discusses how the Big Book teaches us that these alibis are just that—excuses that distract from the true issue. Real recovery requires a psychic change, a complete transformation of mind and spirit, which is only possible through the principles outlined in the 12 Steps. This session gently foreshadows Step 2, where the need for a power greater than ourselves becomes clear, setting the stage for the spiritual awakening necessary for lasting sobriety. For more content, please like, comment, and share. Shelby Lynne is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her landmark classic album I Am Shelby Lynne, which won her a Grammy award for Best New Artist. We recently sat down with Shelby to discuss the evolution of her songwriting, from her early days in Nashville to her recent genre-defying "comeback" album Consequences of the Crown. PART ONEScott and Paul talk about their favorite single lyrical lines, lyrics that bug them from songs they otherwise like, and quibble over one of Kris Kristofferson's best-known lines. Plus, they call on listeners to submit their own choices for discussion on an upcoming episode. PART TWOOur in-depth interview with Shelby LynneABOUT SHELBY LYNNEShelby Lynne won the Grammy award for Best New Artist in the wake of her genre-bending and critically-acclaimed 1999 album, I Am Shelby Lynne. But it was actually her sixth studio album on an artistic path that took time to unfold. Lynne and her sister, fellow artist Allison Moorer, grew up surrounded by country music. As detailed in Moorer's gripping memoir, Blood, they were also surrounded by violence and trauma. Both found escape through music, with Lynne signing her first recording contract at the age of 19. Initially working with legendary producer Billy Sherrill, best known for his albums with Tammy Wynette and George Jones, Shelby released a series of albums from Nashville in the late ‘80s through the mid-‘90s. She won the Academy of Country Music's Top New Female Vocalist Award in 1991, and was nominated for the ACM's Top Vocal Duo of the Year honor with Faith Hill in 1996. Without any major hit singles, however, Shelby eventually took a break from recording. After moving to Palm Springs, California, and partnering with producer Bill Botrell in 1998, she changed direction and found new footing as an uncategorizable artist committed to artistic integrity. The result, I Am Shelby Lynne, has recently been re-released in a 25th Anniversary edition. Follow-up albums Love, Shelby, Identity Crisis, Suit Yourself, and the Dusty Springfield tribute Just a Little Lovin' were well-received precursors to Lynne launching her own record label. Her subsequent albums Tears, Lies and Alibis, Merry Christmas, Revelation Road, and I Can't Imagine all reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Americana/Folk chart, as did her 2017 collaborative album with sister Allison Moorer. Shelby has recently returned to Nashville and has collaborated with Ashley Monroe, Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild, and others to create her seventeenth album, an unflinchingly honest exploration of heartbreak, called Consequences of the Crown.

Dennis is joined via Zoom from London by K Anderson, host of the podcast Lost Spaces. On its surface, the show is about lost queer spaces like bars and bookstores, but on a deeper level it about queer people discovering who they really are, often on a dance floor. K talks about how he first got the idea for the podcast, how doing it has changed his life, the workload of doing a podcast and why so many gay bars have shame-based names like Alibis and Incognito. He also talks about his own lost space, a gay bar in Adelaide, Australia called Mars Bar, where he had many adventures as a young man coming out. Other topics include: the bliss of making out in a nightclub, paying too much to see Diana Ross in concert, the Kylie mega-mix that he used to hate but now he's sort of come around on Kylie, small town gay bars, composing his own theme music and the thrill of getting sticky trousers on a dance floor.

Stuart is a singer / songwriter in the Chicago area, as well as a cast member from the recent Netflix reality series: Jewish Matchmaking. In this episode, Stuart and I chat about his music. We discuss his previous album: Next Exit Brigadoon, and then dive into what made him want to become a songwriter in the first place. We talk about his newest record: Secrets, lies, & Alibis; and discuss the creative freedom that songwriters enjoy. We take an odd detour to talk about a recent news story where Stuart somehow caught the attention (and ire) of Ben Shapiro; and Stuart shares his thoughts on the matter. Finally, Stuart and I chat about his experience on the Netflix reality series: Jewish Matchmaking. I have tons of questions about his time on the show, and he is open and honest with all of his answers; including why he decided to be on the show, what he hoped to get out of it, and how he thinks he came off. Stuart does let me play a song off the new record, and I highly encourage everyone to check out the full album.
Part II The American 82nd and 101st Airborne begin heavy fighting in Holland to secure the bridges spanning the nine waterways which the British 30 Corps, with its tanks and infantry, will need to cross along its 60 mile run from the Belgium border in the south up to Arnhem, near the German border. The British 1st airborne is dropped 8 miles west of its target Arnhem, and finds that it is separated from Arnhem by two Panzer divisions. Only one brigade, Frost's Brigade, reaches Arnhem, and fights desperately to control and then hold the bridge long enough for 30 corps to reach it. Interview segments with Moffit Burris (82nd Airborne) and Brigade Commander Tony Hibbert (British 1st Paratroop Div) provided by Tony Gosling from "A Bridge Not Far" YouTube. An interview with historian Tony Gosling discussing this documentary is included at the end of this story. Includes the story of the spy "King Kong" who sabotaged the mission.
