Welcome back to another episode of the fourth season of the Third Dreamer Meditation Podcast! This week David talks about something he's been thinking about lately: the difference between being a traveler and being a tourist. This can be looked at just as it is or as a metaphor for other areas of life. After chewing on this idea for a while, David then leads a very short meditation to use for grounding and relaxing within times of movement. Should you wish to email, email David at wanderingwisdom@gmail.com and should you wish to support the podcast, go to www.ko-fi.com/thirddreamermeditation

After a few weeks off David is back to talk about plans to change the format for the podcast. Now no longer simply a meditation podcast, we will start examining yoga/meditation, religion/spirituality and politics/society. This episode explains why the changes are happening and examines the mindset that brought this about. Enjoy!
In light of the events in Minneapolis St. Paul this week, I get a little more political than usual. It can be easy as a white man to use meditation as a method of “spiritual bypass” to feel ok personally while living in the midst of a society that is sick and broken. As a white man I also realize that voices other than mine need to be heard in this time and yet also it’s important not to simply put my head in the sand and wait for the next news cycle.
Mona and I love to chant, it’s a part of our daily meditation practice. In this second edition of Meditation Monday, David starts off by explaining a bit about the Ganesha mantra: “On Gam Ganapataye Namaha” mantra and chanting in general, then Mona and David chant the mantra 108 times. Great for connecting to Ganesha and for removing unnecessary obstacles in your life. Please enjoy and feel free to chant along with us!
Sometimes the movie we think we’re starring in isn’t the movie we’re actually starring. What seems like a romantic comedy is actually a horror movie and we just haven’t realized it. David talks about this idea, framing it based on the experience of observing tourists dancing in the aisles of an airplane. He ties this into the ideas of the Bhagavad Gita and looks at the ideas of the roles we play and the results we get from these roles. Enjoy!
Welcome to the first of our “Meditation Monday” series. Every Monday for the foreseeable future, we will have a nice guided meditation in addition to the regularly scheduled Thursday show. We start off with a short mantra based meditation based around the mantra “Soham” (translated as “I am that” or “That that I am”). Enjoy!
It’s been a wild couple of months since the last episode. David and Mona are now back in the States and this episode David recounts what happened in those two months. Welcome back!
Sitting with pain and suffering in myself and others is the practice right now. Empathy that exists outside of answers and fixes is all I have to offer. I talk about this in this episode and also return to the original format of having a guided meditation after the talking part. Take care everyone - David
We’ve had a few people reach out about how Coronavirus is effecting our travels, so I thought it was a good time to do a life updates episode and talk about that. I also talk about my three favorite app games and how those three each offer a different approach towards dealing with the situations of challenges of life. This conversely explains how we’re making the choices we make, so you get an idea not just of the choices but also the thinking behind the choices. This way of looking at the thought process may be something useful in your life too.

David talks about Ganesha, the elephant-headed Hindu god whom he chants daily to.
