Hosts: Jeremy C Van Wert, Jennifer Bauman Guest: Chad Galster, ACE is a film and television editor best known for his frequent collaboration with filmmaker Taylor Sheridan. The pair have worked closely together on all four seasons of the hit television series Yellowstone, as well as Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, and the feature-length thriller Those Who Wish Me Dead starring Angelina Jolie. Chad was a baritone player in the Vanguard Cadets in 1992, and the Santa Clara Vanguard in 1993, '94, '96, '97 and '98. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Michelle and daughter Avery.
From 1998 to 2011, Michael was the drill designer and Visual Coordinator for The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, and served on the design team for all 7 of their Drum Corps International World Championship titles. He is currently the Creative Director, Director of Programs, and Visual Designer for Vanguard Music and Performing Arts.
Lisa is a 4th generation Santa Claran, who currently serves as Mayor in the City of Santa Clara. She has served 2 previous terms as Vice Mayor and as City Council Member from 1992-2000 and 2012-2016. Lisa has been involved in many areas of government, non-profit, and public benefit organizations. She previously served on the Santa Clara County Civil Grand Jury, Santa Clara County Roads Commission, Santa Clara County Assessment Appeals Board, City of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Commission, Santa Clara University Board of Fellows, and the Mission City Community Fund Board. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor‘a Degree in Political Science.
Rick has spent over 20 years working as an Artist Relations Manager. He works with over 200 artists representing eight different brands. Rick is also an accomplished film and classical composer and is a graduate of the Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television Program from the USC in Los Angeles. DeJonge's score for the action film “Fighting With Anger” contained a song by the composer which won Best Original Song at the New York Independent Film Festival and was recorded by Willie Nelson.
Chavonta Edington teaches band, orchestra, and jazz band at Diablo Vista Middle School in Danville, CA. A veteran teacher of 23 years, she also serves as the Curriculum Lead teacher for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District music department and works with new teachers in the district's teacher induction program. Currently, Chavonta serves as a representative on both the California Orchestra Directors Association and the California Band Directors Association boards and was just named secondary teacher of the year for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District.

He is the founder of Music for All, was the first CEO of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, and helped create the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation. Mr. Morrison is recognized for his work add the arts as a core subject to the nation's education goals in 1994. Mr. Morrison's advocacy work has earned him both a Prime-time EMMY and a Peabody Award, the New Jersey Governor's Award for Arts Education and an honorary doctorate degree from the State University of New York. In this episode, Jeremy and Jennifer sit down with Rebecca Compton-Allen where she shares her leadership story from being a soft spoken woman, and how she is giving back to the Vanguard community, being a transformative leader and teaching classes on leadership. Rebecca comes to Vanguard from Shadow Drum & Bugle Corps where she held the position of front ensemble technician, front ensemble coordinator, assistant director, Corps Director, and Executive Director during her 8 year tenure. Rebecca has also taught and directed various music ensembles in Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, and California for the past 17 years. Her performing experience includes Minnesota Brass Drum & Bugle Corps, the Minnesota Vikings Skol Line, the Sioux Falls Symphony Orchestra, and the University of Wisconsin Madison Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. Rebecca holds a Bachelor's degree in child psychology from the University of Minnesota and has a professional background in behavioral therapy specializing in the area of Autism spectrum disorders. Most recently, Rebecca held the position of Director of Mobilization at the Nehemiah Center for Urban Leadership Development, leading efforts to connect marginalized people to community resources and bring positive change to Madison, WI
