BREAKING NEWS: Strelkov Predicts Failure of Russia's Offensive

Edition No183 | 09-07-2025 - Strelkov is back, with another warning. This time its about Russia's Summer Offensive & Mobilization. Today we dive into the prison dispatches of Igor “Strelkov” Girkin — former commander of the Donetsk People's Republic and now a Kremlin critic (is that the right word to use when thieves and killers fall out with each other?) and is locked away. But not for his actual crimes against innocent people, but for his perceived opposition to Putin's regime. From his cell, he's issued a devastating assessment of the Russian military's performance in Ukraine and commented on the highly anticipated—but faltering—summer campaign. He' also made recent pronouncements about the ongoing pressures on Putin, which have come into stark focus with the death of Russia's transport minister yesterday. We'll examine his insights, Girkin's critique of Russian strategy and tactics, comparing them with independent reporting, and chart what it means for the war's next phase.----------PLASMA AND AMBULANCES APPEAL:Please write to: Director Objective Ukraine, Info@ObjectiveUkraine.comBefore we do this is a message from a dear friend in Kyvi who works with the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence. He says, there is a serious shortage of blood plasma here in Ukraine. He has had several messages from ex-comrades and medics, asking if the Allies can help find much needed plasma for medical stations at various depths behind the 'zero' or frontline. This shortage is killing wounded fighting men and women and, all too often, the medics and ambulance drivers who try to evacuate them.A medic friend who has been saving lives in Ukraine for three years, he says, explained how she lost four medic friends and units sustained several casualties, because of the lack of medical evacuation units, ambulances at the front and plasma. During recent delays in receiving equipment and supplies, one group had to walk out...like WW1 stretcher bearers...during which episode they suffered 50% casualties from enemy drones. Including new solar powered drone variants. We desperately need to find ways to improve casualty survival rates, with basic supplies like plasma that we take for granted outside Ukraine. ----------CHAPTERS:00:00 Introduction and Channel Support00:54 Igor Kin's Critique of Russian Strategy02:19 Predictions and Analysis of Russian Military Movements04:00 Internal Pressures and Mobilization Issues08:57 Gerkin's Correspondence and Insights12:18 Summary and Final Thoughts----------LINKS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZM411kDKNTY&t=548shttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AY9o8_PmLe8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrraSdBxLishttps://t.me/s/strelkoviihttps://jamestown.org/program/russian-mobilization-falls-short-ahead-of-putins-summer-offensive/https://www.euronews.com/2025/07/08/in-an-attempt-to-avoid-mobilisation-kremlin-now-allows-foreigners-to-serve-in-russian-armyhttps://www.dw.com/en/will-russia-launch-another-mobilization-drive/a-64345837https://www.ft.com/content/390fa820-7445-430a-978b-e82c0c5dcdc8https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2025/06/30/russia-military-challenges-summer-offensive/----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtain----------TRUSTED CHARITIES ON THE GROUND:Save Ukrainehttps://www.saveukraineua.org/Superhumans - Hospital for war traumashttps://superhumans.com/en/UNBROKEN - Treatment. (TSXV:RGC) (OTCQB:RGCCF), joins us to introduce this gold exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration, discovery, and development of district-scale gold projects, and is applying an Abitibi-style geological modeling to projects in the state of Wyoming.  Their land concessions cover both the Bradley Peak Camp and South Pass Camp with 5 key projects and 17 targets to explore for orogenic gold.   The Company just announced on June 11th that it has received both State and Federal permit approvals for a fully-funded 5,000-meter drill program on the Apex target at the Bradley Peak Gold Camp in central Wyoming. This drill campaign is the first ever at the Apex Target and is integral to the Company's 2025 exploration program. Mobilization has begun and drilling is expected to commence soon.   Robert outlines why the team is so interested in this Apex Target from an orogenic gold perspective, and provides some context on their overall Bradley Peak Gold Camp.   Then we shift over to their South Pass Camp, which has 4 Projects: Golden Buffalo, Lewiston, Shield-Carissa, and Windy Flats. The Company did 2 prior drill programs at the Lewiston Project, and drilling in at the Golden Buffalo project the prior 2 years, and will be doing more mapping, sampling, and surveying of these properties this year to vector in on more targets for future drilling.   Wrapping up we cover the geological experience and business acumen of the management team and board, key strategic shareholders like Kinross, William Bollinger, and Rob McEwen, and the capital structure.  The company has ~ $8 million in the treasury to carry out this drill program and execute on future work initiatives.   If you have any questions for Robert regarding Relevant Gold, then please email us at Fleck@kereport.com or Shad@kereport.com.   Click here to follow the latest news on Relevant Gold

Portland built nearly half of U.S. aircraft carriers in World War II

DURING THE FIRST year of the Second World War, the conflict in the Pacific was all about aircraft carriers. With a carrier, one could take the fight to the enemy. Without one, one could only huddle on an island as a passive target, waiting for an enemy carrier's aircraft to arrive and attack. When the war broke out, the U.S. had seven of these precious warships, but only three were in the Pacific. They were the actual targets of the attack on Pearl Harbor — the Japanese knew if they could get them out of the way, they'd have a free hand for at least a year. It had taken an average of more than three years to build a regular full-size aircraft carrier before the war. Mobilization would cut that timeframe to under a year, but that was still a long wait. The Japanese almost had a free hand for that year anyway. Much of their equipment was just more advanced in 1942, especially airplanes. By the end of that year the U.S. was down to one carrier. Both sides were hurriedly converting existing ships to bolster their fleets, but it certainly looked, from far away, as if the U.S. was not too far from ending up in that helpless position that the Japanese had hoped to put it in with the Pearl Harbor attack. Carriers were rare, complicated ships, hard and time-consuming to build. Japan had lost four of their best ones at Midway, but they still had at least six left. And that's about the point at which Henry Kaiser decided to go into the aircraft-carrier business.... (Vanport, Multnomah County; 1940s) (For text and pictures, see https://offbeatoregon.com/22-07.kaiser-aircraft-carriers-611.html)

Using oral interviews, original protest datasets, and publications by student and labor activists, Cho illustrates how modernization structures such as industrial complexes and tertiary education initially bolstered authoritarian regimes before facilitating protests by various social movement groups, which ultimately succeeded in ushering in the country's democratization. During the discussion, Cho also describes how this historical legacy continues to impact Korean politics, including the generational divide and the recent Martial Law and impeachment episodes. This program is moderated by Korea Society policy director Jonathan Corrado.  This program is made possible by the generous support of our individual and corporate members and the Korea Foundation. Keen On Democracy

Is AI a big scam? In their co-authored new book, The AI Con, Emily Bender and Alex Hanna take aim at what they call big tech “hype”. They argue that large language models from OpenAI or Anthropic are merely what Bender dubs "stochastic parrots" that produce text without the human understanding nor the revolutionary technology that these companies claim. Both Bender, a professor of linguistics, and Hanna, a former AI researcher at Google, challenge the notion that AI will replace human workers, suggesting instead that these algorithms produce "mid" or "janky" content lacking human insight. They accuse tech companies of hyping fear of missing out (FOMO) to drive adoption. Instead of centralized AI controlled by corporations, they advocate for community-controlled technology that empowers users rather than exploiting them. Five Takeaways (with a little help from Claude)* Large language models are "stochastic parrots" that produce text based on probability distributions from training data without actual understanding or communicative intent.* The AI "revolution" is primarily driven by marketing and hype rather than groundbreaking technological innovations, creating fear of missing out (FOMO) to drive adoption.* AI companies are positioning their products as "general purpose technologies" like electricity, but LLMs lack the reliability and functionality to justify this comparison.* Corporate AI is designed to replace human labor and centralize power, which the authors see as an inherently political project with concerning implications.* Bender and Hanna advocate for community-controlled technology development where people have agency over the tools they use, citing examples like Teheku Media's language technology for Maori communities.Dr. Emily M. Bender is a Professor of Linguistics at the University of Washington where she is also the Faculty Director of the Computational Linguistics Master of Science program and affiliate faculty in the School of Computer Science and Engineering and the Information School. In 2023, she was included in the inaugural Time 100 list of the most influential people in AI. She is frequently consulted by policymakers, from municipal officials to the federal government to the United Nations, for insight into into how to understand so-called AI technologies.Dr. Alex Hanna is Director of Research at the Distributed AI Research Institute (DAIR). A sociologist by training, her work centers on the data used in new computational technologies, and the ways in which these data exacerbate racial, gender, and class inequality. She also works in the area of social movements, focusing on the dynamics of anti-racist campus protest in the US and Canada. She holds a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics and a BA in Sociology from Purdue University, and an MS and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Hanna is the co-author of The AI Con (Harper, 2025), a book about AI and the hype around it. With Emily M. Bender, she also runs the Mystery AI Hype Theater 3000 series, playfully and wickedly tearing apart AI hype for a live audience online on Twitch and her podcast. She has published widely in top-tier venues across the social sciences, including the journals Mobilization, American Behavioral Scientist, and Big Data & Society, and top-tier computer science conferences such as CSCW, FAccT, and NeurIPS. Dr. Hanna serves as a Senior Fellow at the Center for Applied Transgender Studies and sits on the advisory board for the Human Rights Data Analysis Group. She is also recipient of the Wisconsin Alumni Association's Forward Award, has been included on FastCompany's Queer 50 (2021, 2024) List and Business Insider's AI Power List, and has been featured in the Cal Academy of Sciences New Science exhibit, which highlights queer and trans scientists of color.Named as one of the "100 most connected men" by GQ magazine, Andrew Keen is amongst the world's best known broadcasters and commentators. In addition to presenting the daily KEEN ON show, he is the host of the long-running How To Fix Democracy interview series.
