    Our latest episode of the Voices of Syriac Faith Podcast and hearing spiritual words of wisdom from V. Rev. Fr. Maroutha Hanna. We also break down the story of Jonah and the fast of Niniveh, where collective fasting and prayers with strong faith prevented divine wrath, showing the mercy of God in response by not destroying the city of Niniveh. Last we mentioned Wednesday and Friday fasting, as well as the profound significance of the Great Holy Lent Fast within the liturgical calendar of the Syriac Orthodox Church.  One can gain understandings as to how these periods of fasting serve as an important period for spiritual renewal and growth within the faith community.
