Leur objectif est de réislamiser la société par le bas, en utilisant l'éducation, la prédication et l'action politique. Ils considèrent l'islam comme un système global englobant la foi, la politique, l'économie et la société. Très tôt, le mouvement a cherché à influencer les institutions et à participer à la vie politique dans plusieurs pays arabes (Égypte, Jordanie, Tunisie, etc.).Les salafistes, quant à eux, ne forment pas une organisation unique, mais plutôt un courant de pensée qui cherche à revenir à l'islam des origines, tel qu'il aurait été pratiqué par les "salaf" (les pieux ancêtres des trois premières générations de musulmans). Ce courant prend son essor au XIXe siècle, mais se développe fortement au XXe siècle, notamment sous l'influence de l'Arabie saoudite et du wahhabisme.Objectifs et méthodesLes Frères musulmans veulent transformer la société en profondeur pour instaurer, à terme, un État islamique. Kerry County Council is to issue pilot licences to allow saunas to operate at Banna and Ballyheigue beaches. The council says, if suitable operators are available, a sauna service could be in place for this year’s bathing season, which runs from 1st June to 15th September.
