In this Ask Me Anything episode, Pastor Adam is joined by Jill Reasa and addresses questions about his sermon on 1 Peter 3:1-7 regarding marriage roles and fearing God in the household. The discussion explores what it means for wives to submit to their husbands while husbands honor their wives as "weaker vessels," addressing modern concerns about spiritual leadership, potential abuse, and practical implementation. Pastor Adam emphasizes that these biblical roles reflect Christ's character, that both spouses will fail but can grow through God's grace, and that Scripture offers better guidance for marriage than contemporary cultural approaches.Engage & Equip is a resource designed to help form substantive disciples for the local church.Find more episodes at highpointchurch.org/podcastMusic: HOME—We're Finally Landing, Nosebleed, If I'm Wrong (https://midwestcollective.bandcamp.com/album/before-the-night)

As it's Japanese GP week, Cameron in this episode asks Peter about the ongoing drama surrounding the demotion of Liam Lawson - and what this says about Red Bull's Academy system; about how Yuki Tsunoda will perform in the A-team; about the strident criticism of Ferrari now rife in the Italian media; and about prospects for the race this weekend. Along the way, of course, Peter takes you through the usual, historic, F1 road trips. Today's episode is all about relationships, and how putting people first and valuing connection helps us build a conscious legacy in our families and in our work. Our guest, Peter Johnson, is a long time financial and estate planner, the co-founder of Family Nature Retreats, and the author of The Little Book of Family Treasure. He joins us to share how the principles of Connection 1st have influenced his work, helping him to heal families and build loving legacies that last.“We're all ancestors in training, meaning, we're all either leaving a conscious legacy or we're leaving a shadow legacy.”We discuss how our legacy is our culture, the wake that we leave behind our boat, and how the wellbeing of our family culture is so influential on the wellbeing of the individual that it's indistinguishable. Peter shares about the power of nature connection to put us into a peaceful state of being, which enables us to successfully navigate the difficult conversations that come up in families around legacy. Most of all, you will feel the loving kindness that emanates from Peter and informs all of his work with people, and be moved and inspired by what it is possible to heal when we come together from that place of love.“Money comes and goes, but the relationships and the skills and the knowledge, and the wisdom, and the desire to be of service to others, these are the things that really drive human behavior and determine outcomes.”The Little Book of Family TreasureWhat if the greatest threat to your family's legacy isn't poor investments or estate taxes, but the invisible walls that keep family members from truly connecting? This being the Monday after the spellbinding Australian GP there's a lot to dissect. There's the Lando-Oscar battle; there's Max; there's the dismal day for Ferrari; there's the New Kimi; there are the whacks with the barriers by several of the rookies. And there's the rise and rise of Williams. Plenty more irreverent chat here - all provoked by Cameron (so don't blame me!) :)There's a lot of pre-Melbourne chat, of course, with me trying to remind everyone that Lando Norris's biggest problem this year is not going to be how he stands up against Charles, Lewis, George or Max but how he deals with that ever-present threat that is Oscar Piastri. Beating the guy in the same car as you is always the biggest challenge in F1. Lewis and Charles are also up front in this chat - as is Jim Clark, who 60 years ago won both the FIA F1 World Championship and the Indianapolis 500 in the same year. Time for some more thought-provoking F1 chat between Peter and Cameron. Booing is a hot topic - as is the dire need for F1's star drivers to do a bit more promotional work over the winter.
Cash Is King with Peter W. Kingma In this episode of The Profit Answer Man, we sit down with Peter W. Kingma, author of CASH IS KING and leader of Ernst & Young LLP's working capital practice in the Americas. With over 30 years of experience advising global companies on all things cash management, Peter joins us to discuss why cash flow is the true backbone of business success and how business owners can shift their focus from profit-and-loss statements to developing a “cash culture.” Peter provides actionable strategies for managing the five steps from order-to-cash, improving collections, and boosting cash flow through better customer management. We also dive into the importance of supply chain management and discuss how creating a “Cash Leadership Office” can transform the financial health of any organization. In this episode, you will learn: Why Building a Cash Culture is Essential: Peter explains why focusing solely on profit-and-loss statements can lead businesses astray, and how a cash-centered approach ensures long-term financial stability. The Order-to-Cash Process: Learn the five key steps in the order-to-cash process that businesses must optimize to maintain healthy cash flow and avoid liquidity crunches. Strategies for Effective Collections: Peter shares five tips for managing customer relationships and disputes to improve collections and cash conversion cycles. Supply Chain Management for Cash Flow: Discover how better supply chain management can keep your cash flowing smoothly, even during challenging economic times. Creating a Cash Leadership Office: How establishing a dedicated leadership team to focus on cash flow can enhance your bottom line and allow for sustainable business growth. Key Takeaways: Cash Over Profits: Even large companies struggle to manage cash effectively. Business owners must understand that cash flow is more critical than simply showing a profit. Sales ≠ Profit, and Profit ≠ Cash: Peter emphasizes that even profitable sales can be harmful if cash isn't collected on time. Businesses must prioritize cash flow management alongside sales and profit. Avoiding Cash Flow Pitfalls: Common mistakes, such as offering long payment terms or failing to consider the financial impact of customer service agreements, can cripple cash flow. Aligning Teams with Cash Goals: Often, sales teams are incentivized based on revenue, not cash collection. Aligning incentives with cash goals can prevent cash shortfalls and improve business sustainability. Bio: Peter W. Kingma is the author of CASH IS KING and leads the working capital practice for Ernst & Young LLP in the Americas. With over 30 years of experience advising global companies, Peter specializes in cash management and working capital strategies across industries such as manufacturing, consumer products, aerospace, and defense. He has contributed to publications like CFO Magazine and CNBC, and is passionate about helping businesses build a cash-centric culture. Conclusion: Cash is the lifeblood of any business, and without careful management, even the most successful organizations can run into trouble. In this episode, Peter Kingma provides valuable insights into how business owners, large or small, can develop a cash-focused mindset and manage their operations for long-term financial health. By implementing the strategies Peter outlines, you can ensure your business not only survives but thrives, no matter what economic challenges you face. We discuss out fav bits of nerd news over the past couple of weeks: The writer strike happened and is ongoing, it's rumored that Margo Robbie will be cast as Sue Storm in Fantastic 4, the OG Flash movie was originally slotted to be 4 hrs long, Free Comic book day was this past Saturday, and Cow Boy Bee Bop is coming out with an RPG for plans to play. We also talked about new movies that are going to come out eventually! Such as Peter W being in Deadpool 3, a Hunger Games prequel, a new rated R Christopher Nolan Robin Hood film, Dune Part 2, and Pedro Pascal in Gladiator 2. For bingeing, Big Pops has been reading a lot of comics. He is reading the 100 best graphic novels and has so far tackled Un-Natural (which he would not recommend kids to read) and From Hell. He also really enjoyed Ghosted on Apple+. Sis has been watching Doctor Who and is finally watching the Matt Smith and the Ponds seasons (her FAV episodes). She also is still watching Clarkson's Farm and finally finished Dune (again). Then, Pops shares his pull list! This week he introduces us to Lazarus Planet: Revenge of the Gods Issue 4 by DC; Captain America: Symbol of Truth Issue 12 by Marvel; as well Local Man Issue 3 by image. His new number 1 is Green Arrow by DC, With his Book of the Week being Clobberin Time Issue 2 by Marvel. This week we decided to talk about all of our fav movies, our top 10 each in no particular order! Check out the ones we love, also, what do you think we missed?

In this episode Pastor Raef looks at the idea that the evidence of Christianity is written in human history. Many of the norms and standards of the modern world we live in have been gifted to us from Christians. No other worldview was able to develop systems like: hospitals, education, liberty and justice for all, women's rights, abolition of slavery, protection for infants, largescale charity, economic freedom, and more. Why was Christianity able to accomplish so much. Was it accidental? No, these ideas and many more are fruit of the Christian worldview. The soil of no other worldview is capable of producing these fruits.ResourcesMilton, Michael A. Foundations of Moral Government. United States: Tanglewood Publishing, 2019.Reid, W. Stanford. In this special holiday episode of The American Idea, we are privileged to share with you a very special Christmas story.A story of hope and freedom, of overcoming tyranny and opression, of finding love for a country and its ideas. A story of a boy whose father gave him the gift of America. This is the story of Peter Schramm.Peter was born in Hungary in 1946. Fleeing the Soviet invasion of Hungary ten years later, Peter famously asked his father why they were going to America. “Because, son. We were born Americans, but in the wrong place.” He would devote the rest of his life to studying and teaching about what that meant. He received a B.A. degree from California State University Northridge and went on to earn a Ph.D. from the Claremont Graduate School. With the help of figures like Harry Jaffa, Peter came to understand what his father already knew: why – as Peter's hero Abraham Lincoln put it – America is “the last best hope of Earth.”Peter was a co-founder of the Claremont Institute for the Study of Statesmanship and Political Philosophy, and became its founding President. He later left Claremont to work for Bill Bennett in the U.S. Secretary of Education under the Reagan administration. It was at the end of Reagan's tenure in office that Peter came to Ashbrook. President Reagan famously inaugurated Ashbrook in 1983, but five years in, it was still in its infancy and looking for its purpose. Over time, Peter would give Ashbrook a purpose.Peter served as the Executive Director of Ashbrook from 1997 to 2013 and a professor of political science at Ashland University until his death in 2015. Under his leadership, Ashbrook grew into a national organization, reaching students, teachers, and citizens in all 50 states. But his most enduring legacy is the students who he personally challenged and inspired in the classroom to be the best human beings and citizens they can be.This is Peter's story, "Born American, but in the Wrong Place," as recounted by him in 2006.Host: Jeff SikkengaExecutive Producer: Greg McBrayerProducer: Tyler MacQueen
A little-known family investment office made big news this week... Archegos Capital Management's risky leveraged bets on ViacomCBS Inc. and Discovery Inc. set off a wave of forced liquidations at a number of Wall Street Banks. Estimates show Bill Hwang, the man behind Archegos, levered his positions as much as 5X and so far has triggered the liquidations of positions approaching $30 billion in value. Dan takes a deep look at this story of greed and hubris before leaving listeners with one crystal clear takeaway. Then Dan invites Tucker Walsh onto the show for a conversation about one of the hottest sectors of the market over the past year – small cap growth stocks. Tucker is head of the Small Company Growth Team and lead Portfolio Manager at Polen Capital's U.S. Small Company Growth strategy. Prior to joining Polen Capital Tucker spent 10 years as CEO at Copper Rock Capital Partners and 9 years as Managing Director and Head of Small Cap Growth Team at State Street Research. Tucker and his team look to invest in fast-growing, disruptive businesses that use technology to compete in the digital age. But he stresses that profitability is important, and discipline is critical when you're investing in this space. Thoroughly researching and investigating each company and objectively looking at both best and worst case scenarios without getting attached is key. During their conversation, Tucker shares the name of a few stocks he thinks could have massive potential in the coming years and are great buys right now. Then on the mailbag, listener Peter W. writes in explaining why he was not happy with Dan's interview last week... He argues Dan and Per left out some pretty important details during the conversation about regulations. Dan listens to Peter's side and gives his rebuttal to this question and many more on this week's episode.
Fr. Jason comes on the podcast to discuss the Divine Worship of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, his conversion, and the importance of the Anglican patrimony in the Catholic Church.
We talk to Peter about Nightingale Health's work with the UK Biobank, including recent research that shows their blood test could be used predict severe COVID19 well before onset of symptoms. The company's vision includes not just population-scale research like the UKBiobank, but creating a system that is focused on prevention and early detection rather than treatment.
