Jim Pomeroy, Evan Robinson & Cade Wiberg
WWB is back for a very special episode. Jim plays the role of solo host to discuss the Bosnian War film "Quo Vadis, Aida?" Filling in for Cade and Evan are two very special guests who both have deeply personal connections to the breakup of Yugoslavia and its subsequent wars in the 1990s. Friend of the podcast Arnela Išerić joins Jim in the first half of this episode to discuss her family's experiences during the war in Bosnia and the war's resounding affects that are still felt today. In the second half, former Congressman and USAF Intelligence officer Denver Riggleman talks with Jim about his experiences in the former Yugoslavia as well as his knowledge of the region. Drinks for this podcast are Beefeater Gin and Silverback Distillery Blackback Bourbon (https://www.sbdistillery.com/).
The WWB boys are back again with a very unique war film (originally recorded back in February). This episode handles Denis Villeneuve's 2010 film "Incendies." The drink of choice was Wicked Weed's Pernicious IPA. Topics covered include the Lebanese Civil War, Maroon 5, the WWB hosts' future funerals, and which random "celebrities" are coming to this year's Thanksgiving.
On the 13th episode of World War Brew, the boys discuss the 2019 Netflix Original action/war movie "Mosul." Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, the World War Brew boys review the movie "'71" (now streaming for free on Hulu and Amazon Prime). This movie/film follows the exploits of British Army Private Gary Hook (played by Jack O'Connell) as he tries to survive a single day in war torn Belfast in 1971. Topics covered include the Northern Irish Conflict ("The Troubles"), the HBO series "Euphoria" (for some reason), John Lennon song lyrics, and which of the WWB hosts would survive the longest in Belfast. This episode's drink is Guinness (because...of course). Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of our listeners! Another angry Mel Gibson war movie for World War Brew. The World War Brew trio is back for another episode and boy is this one a DOOZY. The boys discuss what the next film in the franchise should be like, Jim's celebrity crush, military tactics during the Ape-pocalypse, and whose fictional character survives the longest in a world run by primates (David Dirsch, Stan Stevens, or Josh Grant). Buckle your seat belts because this is one hell of a beer fueled ride...

After a COVID-19 induced hiatus, the World War Brew boys are back with a "cut down" podcast they recorded 5 months ago...However, the podcast hosts figured that the World War Brew faithful needed some content. Here is the World War Brew review of Sam Mendes' World War I epic "1917." Also reviewed is Pusser's Royal Navy Rum. As Virginia opens up amid the COVID-19 pandemic, expect more content to come. Enjoy!
After a long hiatus and New Year hangover, the World War Brew trio of Evan, Cade and Jim review the Steven Spielberg remake of "War of the Worlds" (yes it's a war movie, it's in the title). In this episode we talk about who would survive an alien invasion, the 1938 Orson Welles radio broadcast, Tom Cruise's 2005 Katie Holmes/Oprah debacle, and Speilberg's directing prowess. Also featured is our review of Captain Lawrence Brewing Company's "Orbital Tilt IPA."
Our very first episode of a movie (or film?) we saw together in theaters! How bad can CGI really look? Can Ed Skrein pull off a convincing New Jersey accent? How well did Nick Jonas stand up to the Imperial Japanese Navy? All these questions will be answered alongside our review of Decipher Brewing's Broken Logic IPA.
Is Black Hawk Down a statement on U.S. foreign policy? Or is it a DoD funded recruitment tool? Where does Black Hawk Down stack up in Ridley Scott's all-time filmography? What were Sony and Columbia Pictures REALLY up to in 2001? All these questions will be answered along with our review of New Belgium's "Voodoo Ranger" Juicy Haze IPA in this weeks episode.
