With Rishi Sunak calling a general election, Tim is off to fight for his seat in Parliament. Ofcom rules prevent those standing in the election from acting as presenters in the run up to the vote so A Mucky Business will be taking a pause. However, here at Premier we're committed to continuing the conversation on faith and politics. So in the run up to July 4th, this feed will bring a new series called 66 Politics in which we'll be working with the team at Christians in Politics and look at what the Bible says about some of the big issues of these times. In this brief episode Tim talks to CiP's Andy Flannagan to find out more.

Christian MP Tim Farron speaks to the Executive Director of Christians in Politics, Andy Flannagan, about what a Christian needs to make it in politics and what hope there is for the next generation of Christian leaders. Christians in Politics encourages believers to get involved in party politics instead of shying away from it - but is that always the best option for someone who desires political influence? How should theology shape potential leaders? A listeners also asks Tim a question about what the Government is doing to 'protect' Christianity in the UK. Want your question answered next week? Songwriters Noel Robinson, Andy Flannagan and Graham Hunter took a familiar hymn tune and added words to inspire us all to understand that, wherever we are, and whatever we're doing, we can see our daily tasks through God's eyes, and through our very presence bring His kingdom here on earth - as in Heaven. Anne De Leyser believes we are all able to bless our community, our family, our colleagues and our friends, by allowing God to work through us - wherever we are. Anne travels the world, talking to people about establishing Local Houses of Prayer (you can do it with just 2 people!) and she's this week's guest on At Your Service, along with Andy Flannagan and his whole-life worship song, as we explore -in words and music - what it means to seek God's kingdom right where we are. There's music from Graham Kendrick, too, and notice board news for the coming week. If you want to know more about Anne de Leyser's ministry, visit the website www.localhousesofprayer.org And my contact email for notice board news, and to choose your favourite hymns for inclusion in future programmes is judithley@manxradio.com

Andy Flannagan is a Luton-based, Irish singer-songwriter who was previously a hospital doctor but whose proudest moment as an Irishman was captaining England's Barmy Army during the Ashes in Australia. As well as all the bigger festivals and events, he has also made regular appearances on radio 2 and radio 5live, alongside various BBC regional stations. He has appeared on ‘The Big Breakfast' and 4thought on Channel 4. Over the last 9 years his music has also been a staple on Christian radio stations UCB, Cross Rhythms and Premier. His campaigning song writing dragged him into the political arena, so he can often be found engaging with MPs around Parliament. The guys talk about an incident at the hospital, the impact of George Verwer, leaving medicine, an embarrassing blind date, plus a recent Zoom gathering.Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/stevelegguk)
