Texas indie Americana and folk is what David Martinez does and he does it really well, with a little rock snuck in for good measure. A passionate, powerful and determined singer songwriter, Martinez is taking the Texas music scene by storm. He has played at the Texas Indie Fest, Texas Rockfest, and SXSW, with the among others plus toured the state and nationally. With a voice that can belt or croon smooth as glass, he is bringing a refreshing vibe to Texas in his new album, One More Time, produced by Leroy Miller. Now in Corpus Christie, it won’t long before we hear about him far beyond Texas. Spark & Whisper is the musical collaboration of Anita Sandwina & Velvy Appleton, singer-songwriters/multi-instrumentalists from the SF Bay Area who met at the Strawberry Music Festival in Northern California, formed a trio, expanded to a band, changed names and produced two critically acclaimed albums, an east coast tour. Over 100 shows later, Appleton & Sandwina created Spark & Whisper and released their debut album, “Spark & Whisper” to stellar reviews and strong radio play. The album launched the band into 3 years of solid gigging. They teamed up with producer Monica Pasqual of Blame Sally and released their second album, “Ghost Towns” which was embraced by the acoustic/folk radio community and rose on 12 different Folk DJ’s “Top 10 Albums of 2013”.

Doña Oxford is an extraordinary soul, R&B and boogie woogie singer/songwriter and keyboardist who’s old school soul vocals and high octane keyboard piano create music that crowds of all ages go wild for. She puts on red hot live shows - many have called them “Gladys Knight meets the Rolling Stones” concerts. Doña has played with legends including Keith Richards, Bob Weir, Levon Helm, Albert Lee, Buddy Guy, Shemekia Copeland and Johnnie Johnson, and played keyboard for Van Morrison in his latest studio recording. Labeled the ‘Goddess of Soul’, Doña toured her sassy, soulful 6-piece band throughout the world while recording four fast selling albums. She joins us on Musiic Friday Live! at 2:05 pm ET. Fourth generation Californian Corinne West, described as "the Siren of the Sierras" brings a powerful and eloquent voice coupled with finely crafted song to the global acoustic roots music scene. At 15, she left home with guitar in hand to travel America in a converted school bus, sang in an edgy rock-n-roll band, studied theatre, restored bi-plane wings, built custom curved walls as a river rock mason and opened a fine art business in glass and metal with a blacksmith in the High Sierras. All of that informs her elegant new sexy acoustic jazz-rock-folk, "west-coast acoustic soul" sound. Her newest album, The Promise is a collaboration with Pam Delgado and Jeri Jones of Blame Sally and is a soaring triumph. She joins us at 2:30 pm ET.

BLAME SALLY is one of the most powerful word-of-mouth success stories in recent years.. Each of the four women put her individual career aside to start Blame Sally in the San Fransisco Bay-area when they were in their late thirties and forties the age at which bands are traditionally supposed to break up and begin solo careers. Their latest CD is "Speeding Ticket and a Valentine" released on Ninth Street Opus.Water." THE TWILITE BROADCASTERS continues the longstanding tradition of two part rural harmony vocals with simple acoustic string instrument accompaniment once common in the Southern part of the United States (starting in the 1930's). The irinfluences include The Monroe Brothers,The Louvin Brothers, The Stanley Brothers, Jim and Jesse, and more but have a sound that is uniquely theirs. Adam Tanner and Mark Jackson formed the group in 2009 in Weaverville, North Carolina. They have just released a new recording called "The Trail of Time."
