A new clip of Taylor Swift on ‘New Heights' just dropped. Kevin Hart is teaming up with Netflix for a comedian talent competition. Meghan Markle's show was a dud, but her and Harry's relationship with Netflix isn't over. Happy International Left Handed Day. Sarah's hometown is supposedly the best place in America to live! The healthiest place is a little closer to San Francisco. What does it mean to live the simple life? And why does Matty claim he looks like a cloud in cowboy boots?
I get texts on the daily from people saying “you're so negative about Labour”. “You never have anything good to say about the last government. You're so critical of Labour.” And I say to them, how can anyone with a brain not be critical of Labour?! The gut feeling I had at the time that the previous administration was out of their depth and hopelessly incompetent has been proved with hard data, time and time and time again. The failure to deliver any kind of transformational reform, the failure to deliver on the absolute basics, the arrogance around co-governance, the breathtaking and utterly tragic waste of taxpayer money, more on that later, Treasury's report that came out yesterday slamming the governments spending during the pandemic just confirms everything we knew – but now this. Labour's absolute refusal to even acknowledge changes taking place within NCEA. The Herald has the story and its a good one. The Government offered Labour multiple opportunities to be briefed on the NCEA change process, but the party's education spokeswoman Willow-Jean Prime initially didn't respond to these invitations and then flat-out declined them. This after Hipkins said to the Herald last month that the Labour Government consulted with the then-Opposition to ensure changes were “going to be enduring” and expressed a desire for the current Government to do the same. A text message appears to show Stanford reached out to Prime about NCEA after the Labour MP took over the education portfolio from Jan Tinetti in March. “Hey Willow-Jean, congrats on the new role! Will need to get you up to speed with the NCEA change process. Jan and I had started working cross-party on this given the importance of our national qualification,” Stanford wrote, according to a screenshot provided. “Would be good if we could meet first and I can run you through where we are at and what the process is. There is a policy advisory group of principals who are working on the details and you can have access to them when they meet as well as my officials and also NZQA.” The Minister said her office would get in touch with Prime's “if that's ok?”. Nothing. Tumbleweeds. Now I get that she doesn't have to like the changes. She doesn't have to agree with the change. But a letter along the lines of 'Thanks Minister, but I am philosophically and intellectually opposed to the changes you intend to make and I will be rolling them back once I am Minister. Nga mihi, Willow Jean' would have let everybody know where they stood. Nothing? No response at all?! Stanford's office reached out again in May. Again, nothing. In mid June, Stanford reached out personally and then when again, there was no response, Stanford emailed Chris Hipkins office on July 1. “I've sought on multiple occasions to get input from your education spokesperson on NCEA curriculum reform, with no response,” Stanford wrote to Hipkins on July 1. “It is important to have cross-party collaboration regarding a national qualification, and the offer remains open to arrange a briefing from officials or from the Professional Advisory Group.” The next day, an adviser for Prime emailed Stanford: “I acknowledge your email regarding NCEA curriculum reform." “Willow-Jean has considered your email and declines the invitation." That is Labour's education spokesperson. Some one who is so rude, so out of touch, so out of her depth she refused to be part of transformational change. But no, this is not just Labour's education spokesperson, this is Labour. Out of touch, out of their depth, and while Chris Hipkins remains as leader, they should never be allowed anywhere near the levers of power ever again. Welcome to Immersion, you have reached Strata 9Lust and Loins (Limerence)Limerence is a uniquely human phenomenon that new lovers, potential lovers, and sometimes even strangers, may experience. Limerence is a state of mind (not solely romantic) that typically includes persistent, sometimes depressing thoughts, and a deep yearning for the object of one's affection. It can be easily confused with love. Often human beings can find themselves addicted to these obsessive feelings and can easily be overwhelmed by adoration for another human being. Limerence cannot be turned on and off like a machine. It can come from nowhere and disappear without logic. The experience of this sensory state is proven to be inspiring, connective, unifying, disruptive, and even excruciating, yet it continues to mark the human trajectory of existence through time and place.'Good *dundeal Mr. Renyke Man.' said Flex excitedly.''We leave at dark, mind,' said Shabra. 'Take some time for food and rest. You might need your strength. I will get food.' Renyke watched her take weapons from the vehicle, knives and a small crossbow. The group is in an enclosure flanked by half-deconstructed concrete walls. There are large metal containers lying around with shrubbery and foliage trying to make a stand against the manmade environment. Tumbleweed played in the soft wind searching for a home.Maybeline scurried around searching for food and sniffing the air. She could smell something sinister, the scent of danger, as Renyke studied her movements.Flex kicked some redundant ashes by an upturned metal water tank. 'I can make us a fire,' he said, taking a pocket full of old rusty lighters and tinder from one of his huge pockets. His brightly coloured patchwork overcoat seemed to store an abundance of useful things. There were small pieces of mechanical paraphernalia, vintage innards from antique items, little motors, motherboards and old PC parts. There were secret pockets and compartments for weapons and a waterproof lining held everything together.‘Do you take this stuff everywhere you go?' asked Renyke.‘Yes sir-ee, some days *man'dun gotta make *swapsie-trade. .And other days, well, there are enemies and they kill for the fun of it. Everything has a use in the Zones brother. You learn that quick here.Maybeline found a water flow from a pipe tucked in the grass and took a long drink.Renyke began to pace, 'Shabra is taking her time,' he said, standing near the opening of the enclosure.‘She'll come, she is huntin' tis all my friend. You got attached already?'Renyke stared at Flex and mumbled, ‘We need that ride.'Then he checked POS whose signal was intermittent.'.......What are the signs of being attracted to somebody?'POS took a moment to compile a response……..……Do you mean human responses?'……yes, yes, of course ‘humans', Renyke replied.'POS continued…..nervousness around the subject of the attraction,…..extended thoughts about the subject,…..obsessive thoughts beyond normal curiosity about the subject,…..insomnia due to obsessive considerations of the subject,…..anxiety over possible outcomes of imaginary scenarios involving the subject,…..a desire to touch the intimate parts of the subject,…..dreams about the subject,…..fantasy building scenarios between the human and the subject,…..being overly concerned about….‘Enough,' said Renyke, irritated with the voice in his head. Finally Shabra returned. She carried two dead rabbits in her belt and washed a wide glinting blade under the water that flowed from the broken pipe.‘This water's good. Your rat is a good scout for provisions. We can fill up the tanks and flask before we go.'The new acquaintances are relaxed and considering preparation for the short but dangerous car journey to the *Edge.Shabra checked the vehicle mechanics, the doors and metal buttresses worked in perfect synch and there were six exhausts. She filled the water kegs and put them in the boot.‘Where is the vehicle from?' Asked Renyke.‘I built it,' answered Shabra, 'from scratch. 'Well, I had several wrecks and put my beaut together.Me n her, we like lovers. She drives me crazy with her vibes.'Shabra looked at Renyke parting her lips into a wry smile. They were oily from the fat of the meal. She winked through long dark lashes.Renyke felt a thump in his heart, a deep penetrating surge of something enthralling.Suddenly there is a distant high-pitched sound, like a siren or swarm. It seems to be getting louder when Flex and Shabra grab Renyke, throwing him into the vehicle.Seconds later they were surrounded by a marauding mass of screaming children. Some were made of broken body parts with human faces, others were small walking babies with burnt skin. Some had extra limbs and even two heads. They were crying and screeching, banging toy drums and chanting verses. One of them seemed to be the leader and he leapt onto Shabra's bonnet. The noise was deafening. to be continued© 2025 Sarnia de la Mare

In this episode of "That Don't Sound Right," hosts Peter and Cecil delve into a thought-provoking discussion about the rise of AI-generated music and its implications for the music industry. As AI begins to mimic human artists with astonishing precision, questions arise about the authenticity and soul of music. Listeners are invited to consider whether they would enjoy AI-generated tunes that sound exactly like their favorite artists, and whether a band comprised of musicians performing entirely AI-composed songs can capture the essence of a live concert experience. The hosts also share anecdotes about the nostalgia for vinyl records and explore how technological advancements, like HDR TVs, have altered the way we consume media. Tune in for an engaging conversation that challenges the acceptance of AI in creative fields and ponder the future of music in a world where technology continues to blur the line between human and machine creation. #tdsrpodcast #music Join the conversation with us! Starting off in 2012 as a one-man digital adventure to explore Seb Painchaud's interest in smoky, bluesy, haze-laden instrumental music, the project quickly grew into a melting pot of stoner, psychedelic, post, and math rock—an infrasonic concoction that was brewed to complement a potent mushroom trip across the desert. By 2014, the band's sophomore release, Western Horror, leaned into a cinematic direction, immersing listeners into a wordless narrative that probably belongs best to a Tarantino film. The following release of 2016, TDIII - Tokes, Hatred & Caffeine, saw the group tightening its compositions, resulting in an album that featured a total of 12 tracks over the span of 40-minutes. Gone were the long, drawn-out build ups! Tumbleweed Dealer began to favor quickly undulating cascades of harmonies, all of which were played against a rhythm section that openly showcased a vast array of musical influences. While the band never actively toured, they played the occasional show. Scarce as they were, the band traveled as far as California to share their mastery of the loop station and to recreate their soundscapes in a live setting while commanding the stage with the authority of the seasoned extreme metal veterans that made up their ranks at the time.By the time composition started for an eventual fourth album, the group's live lineup had dissolved. What started as a simple decision to ward off the need to write music that can be recreated in front of a live audience quickly grew into what Sebastien coined a “bucket list album”, a shining new opportunity to indulge in every adventurous musical thought in a way that was free from any concern about the feasibility of its pieces. Pairing themselves with an unlikely drummer early in the creative process, Angelo Fata from local hardcore bands Jesus Horse and Hopeless Youth, group mainstays Painchaud and Joubaud went on to craft songs that merged oppositional forces of vintage sounds with modern ideas. Mellotrons, Hammonds, and Rhodes were added on top of jazzy, funky riffs that managed to maintain the group's melodic pallet in a way that pushed it further. If there was an elevator pitch to sum this new direction up, it might go something like this: “What if Toe and Camel got high together in a swamp?”More than 8 years in the making, Tumbleweed Dealer's main driving force, Seb Painchaud, not only thinks that this album reflects a life-spanning culmination of his experience as a musician and composer, but also of his life as an avid musical fan with an obsessive need to discover new artists, genres, and sounds. Though he has released records with various projects since his early twenties, Dark Green is the album he has been working on his whole life, whether he knew it or not.

Following on from Part 1, Justin, Olivia and guest host Chris Jones (of the "Hall of Songs" podcast) explore Elvis's Hot 100 hits that never made it to the Top 40, closing out the movie era with tracks from Speedway and Live A Little, Love A Little and moving into the 1970s, a decade that surprisingly offered Elvis far more pop success than may often be perceived, as only 5 of his single A-sides charted outside the Top 40 (and only the Christmas and gospel singles not charting whatsoever in the Hot 100). Also touched upon are the three posthumous Hot 100 hits that never reached the Top 40: The Elvis Medley, and the remixes of A Little Less Conversation and Rubberneckin'. For Song of the Week, Chris is inspired by having recently watched "The Big Lebowski" to pick Elvis's 1966 home recording of the Sons of the Pioneers cowboy classic that opens that film, "Tumblin' Tumbleweeds," while Olivia goes deep on the extensive history behind Elvis's version of the apocalyptic spiritual "I, John," rooted almost entirely in Black gospel tradition until Elvis's 1971 recording released on the "He Touched Me" album in '72. Next up on this action-packed season of Shred With Shifty, country superstar Keith Urban joins Chris Shiflett to walk through some of his most iconic solos and unpack some fine details behind his successful music career. Strapped with the '51 Fender “Nocaster” that he used to record the solo on “Tumbleweed,” Urban walks Shifty through some of his guitar secrets, like how he came to own Waylon Jennings' iconic, leatherbound 1950 Fender Broadcaster (hats off to his wife, Nicole Kidman, for that one). Urban tells avid surfer Shiflett why he never got into surfing while growing up in Australia, and remembers his earliest influences in the country's music scene. Low-gain players like Mark Knopfler, Ray Flacke, and Lindsay Buckingham helped shape Urban's lead-guitar tastes, imprints you can hear in the capoed, drop-D solo on “Stupid Boy.” (Urban says his new solo record, High, features more of these theatrics.) Amid the fretboard analysis, Urban talks about his “love-hate relationship” with his Fractal amp-modeling unit, which he still leaves at home when he plays live—a 100-watt Marshall Super Lead and PRS J-MOD 100 still reign supreme for Urban's concerts. Tune in to learn how Urban's unique pick grip gave his solos some extra percussive edge, how he keeps his chops up, and which artist he'd want to “gunsling” for. There is a lack of new faces at Motspur Park, and Fulham's squad looks very thin as we hurtle towards that opening day at Old Trafford. A year ago today, Fulham made the first signing of 23/24, but as of right now, the squad looks a lot weaker than it did at the end of the last campaign. There is some news - Rodrigo Muniz has taken the Number 9 shirt, which sparks a discussion about his role in the squad ahead of this season; and we get into some of the latest names linked with the Cottagers - Samuele Ricci, Crysencio Summerville, Kalvin Phillips, Scott McTominay, Jota Silva, Alexis Saelemaekers and Jayden Oosterwolde, as well as revisiting the latest on André, which is now firmly a saga. There's also time to talk about Jay Stansfield and the reported offers from Birmingham for his services, and some thoughts on the Academy as a whole; the latest addition to our pre-season tour which feels like another slap in the face to fans; and the state of the Hammersmith End toilets! -- 00:00 - No new friends 07:11 - RM9 has arrived 13:38 - Transfer priorities ranked 18:19 - Latest lads linked 34:19 - Why would we let Jay leave? -- SHOW-LINKS: If you enjoy Fulhamish, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs.
