Having a plan of action usually starts with a goal. When planning a wedding, the end goal is usually, that the loving couple will sail off into the sunset and live happily ever after. If we're planning a vacation, the goal will be to identify where we're going, how we are going to get there, what it is going to cost and how long we will stay there, and when we will return home. The result usually means we're going to have fun and enjoy ourselves. If we're planning a birthday party, the guest list is decided on, the invitations are sent out, the decorations are envisioned, the cake is made, and the result is that usually, many people have a sugar high for several hours the birthday girl is happy with her new presents, and everyone goes to sleep at night except mom and dad who get to clean up the mess. If you can plan a wedding, a vacation, or a birthday party. Then you can plan on what to do in case of an Emergency or Natural Disaster. September is known as national preparedness month. It is intended to raise awareness of the importance of preparing for the unthinkable disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time in your life. Have a Plan. Only 39 % of Americans have developed an emergency plan and discussed it with their family. https://www.cdc.gov/cpr/infographics/pfe-family.htm According to a new Wells Fargo & Company survey, four in five Americans (84%) live in areas that have experienced some form of natural disaster in the past three years, and over half (54%) live in areas that have experienced severe natural disasters, specifically hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, wildfires or earthquakes. https://newsroom.wf.com/English/news-releases/news-release-details/2021/Most-Americans-Ill-Prepared-for-Natural-Disasters-Wells-Fargo-Survey-Finds/default.aspx When developing your emergency or natural disaster plan, it is good to have a goal. There can be many goals built into the plan. And to achieve them, it's nice to know what you are doing and how we're going to go about it. This brings up the concept of Smart Goals. A smart goal is specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely. Selling through retail stores is much the same as selling through bookstores. Publishers need a distribution partner, books are sold off the shelf and unsold book are returned for credit. Sale to non0reetail buyers in corporations, associations, military and the academic segment are not for resale, but for use as premiums and ad specialties. Sales are generally in large quantities, and for that reason can take a year or more to close. Books are sold on a non-returnable basis and the buyers pay shipping charges in many cases. Brian gives you tips and instructions for selling books through non-bookstore retailers such as supermarkets, discount stores and airport stores, as well as making large, non-returnable sales to non-retail buyers in corporations, associations, schools and the military.
