In a very special episode of the Bodacious Horror Podcast, Gill and Roscoe welcome a true musical visionary - the former lead singer of Faith No More, Bad Brains and Cement, Chuck Mosley. In this interview - recorded on the eve of his three week tour of the UK (entitled "Reintroduce Yourself"), Chuck gives an insight into the crazy life of a peripatetic icon, his influence on alternative rock and his plans for the future. This show also features an interview with Shawn Jones, the writer and director of a film which turns the slasher on its head - "Camp Killer". Shawn sheds light on the inspiration for this inventive twist on the genre, his work on the "Chainsaw Sally" series, "WNUF Halloween Special" and much more. 09-25-07 – Chainsaw Sally, The Paranormal, Psychic Dan by Nightwatch Radio
In this episode Wayne interviews Jimmy O and April Burril. They both have a bloody horror history and tell tales of their handywork on web TV, movies, and their own special productions. Jimmyo was an artist/designer in special promotions for Warner Home Video from 1986-1990. And did amazing artwork for Batman, Joe Vs The Volcano, Gremlins 2, and Bugs Bunny's 50th Birthday and played drums since he was 2 years old. April started acting on a regular basis in 1997 when she joined the theater troupe, Jamo Alternative Theater. For several years, she worked with them on- and back-stage helping to bring to life their quirky original productions, the most popular of which was the horror-comedy-musical, Silver Scream. The character of Chainsaw Sally was originally created as a web hostess to garner popularity for the live show, but she quickly gained her own fan-base. When she left the stage to move on to film projects in the guise of Planet X Entertainment (now known as Forbidden Pictures), Chainsaw Sally was the natural choice for our first full film project. A few projects later her husband Jimmyo Burril came up with The Chainsaw Sally Show slash-com series.
Guest.... Mike Flanagan was born in Salem, Massachusetts in 1978 to Timothy and Laura Flanagan. The family relocated frequently, as Timothy was in the U.S. Coast Guard, and finally settled in Bowie, Maryland. As a child, he would shoot and edit short movies on VHS. This continued as he attended Archbishop Spalding High School in Severna Park, Maryland, where he was active in the school's drama department and the president of the school's SGA. He also anchored the school's morning television show, and produced commercials and short videos for the students. A graduate of Towson University's Electronic Media and Film department, he began his feature film career in 2000 with "Makebelieve" at the age of 21. His follow up, "Still Life" (2001) was an award winning digital feature shot in and around Baltimore. Flanagan then produced television programming for Discovery and ESPN in 2002, and in 2003 wrote and directed the award-winning feature film "Ghosts of Hamilton Street". Later that year, Mike was the Director of Photography for the cult hit "Chainsaw Sally" by Writer/Director Jimmy O Burril. Mike moved from Baltimore to Los Angeles the day after "Chainsaw Sally" wrapped, and almost immediately found work directing & editing "The Gleib Show" for National Lampoon Networks and several reality television programs, as well as regional commercials. In 2005, Flanagan turned to the horror genre for the first time with "Oculus", an applauded short film that is just the beginning of an ambitious horror anthology. Mike lives in Los Angeles with actress and co-producer Courtney Bell.
She's 5'2” and has eyes of blue but that's about the extent of the “cootchie-coo” element that is “Chainsaw Sally”, the new horror icon-to-be who has been shaking up the Internet. But the actress who plays her, April Monique Burril, IS as charming and friendly a person as you could imagine and ever-so-slightly bewildered by the overwhelming popularity of a character she originally created to help market her husband's first film, “Silver Scream”.

This week, pool your cash, because we are low budget! First up, Desmond and Darryll take a look at the Criterion release of 1970's Equinox. Then, it's chicks and chainsaws time as Desmond goes solo on the first season of Chainsaw Sally and Faces of Schlock: The Boobs and Blood Edition. The following lo-fi tunes were probably recorded on reel-to-reel, even though that is much more expensive than recording in Pro Tools, so never mind: "We Die Young" by Alice in Chains, "Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants" by Dillinger Escape Plan, "Crazy, Crazy Mama" by Roky Erickson, "Vampira" by Devin Townsend Band, and "My Poor Friend Me" by Frank Turner. That is all. Send feedback to: feedback@dreadmedia.net, or 206.203.1213. Join the Facebook group! Visit www.audibletrial.com/dreadmedia to get a free audiobook!
