Su nombre se ha convertido en sinónimo de terror, misterio y leyenda, un caso que, más de un siglo después, sigue estremeciendo a investigadores, criminólogos y amantes del true crime. En este vídeo-documental exploramos a fondo la vida, los crímenes y el juicio de Enriqueta Martí, la mujer que se ganó el apodo de Vampira de Barcelona por los macabros sucesos que estremecieron a toda una ciudad. A través de un relato detallado y riguroso, viajamos a la Barcelona modernista de 1912, una ciudad en plena efervescencia, pero también marcada por la pobreza, las desigualdades sociales y los callejones oscuros donde el miedo y la superstición se mezclaban con la realidad. ¿Quién era Enriqueta Martí? Lejos de ser un simple personaje de leyenda, Enriqueta era una mujer de apariencia discreta que llevaba una doble vida. Según los archivos de la época, Enriqueta se dedicaba a la mendicidad y a la brujería, elaborando supuestas pociones con ingredientes tan macabros como restos humanos. ⚖️ El secuestro de Teresita Guitart Congost La investigación que destapó todo comenzó con la desaparición de la pequeña Teresita. Su búsqueda llevó a la policía a un humilde piso en la calle Poniente, donde descubrieron pruebas que estremecieron a la opinión pública: ropa infantil, frascos con extraños ungüentos y restos óseos que hicieron saltar todas las alarmas. La prensa de la época bautizó el caso como el de la Vampira de Barcelona, convirtiéndolo en uno de los procesos judiciales más seguidos de la historia de la ciudad. Mito, realidad y leyenda El caso de Enriqueta Martí ha estado envuelto en controversias: ¿fue realmente una asesina en serie o una víctima de la prensa sensacionalista de la época? Algunos historiadores y criminólogos creen que parte de lo que se cuenta pudo ser exagerado para vender periódicos. Op 30 september 1955 komt de 24-jarige acteur James Dean om het leven bij een auto ongeluk in Californië. Hij rijdt met zijn Porche in op een andere auto en is op slag dood. Een tragisch ongeluk. Of toch niet...? Al snel ontstaan er allerlei samenzweringstheorieën. Zo denken hele volksstammen dat Dean zijn. eigen dood in scene heeft gezet zodat hij kon ontkomen aan alle media-aandacht. Er zijn ook mensen die denken dat zijn auto, die Porsche, vervloekt was... Latere eigenaren zouden namelijk óók noodlottig aan hun einde komen en de Porche zou zelfs spontaan in vlammen zijn uitgebrarsten. Maar wie had de Porsche dan vervloekt? Een heuse heks, namelijk Malia Nurmi oftewel Vampira. Vampira had James Dean ontmoet op een feestje en ze deelden een fascinatie voor de dood. Vampira had haar eigen horror show op de lokale tv en ze was een bekende verschijning. Ze zat bij voorbeeld ook in Ed Wood's Plan 9 from Outer Space. Volgens de geruchten had Dean Vampira afgewezen en had ze daarom zijn auto vervloekt. Vampira zelf stookt deze geruchten op door op een Halloween feestje te verschijnen met een man die een dode James Dean moet voorstellen.... Maila Nurmi became televisions first horror host when she hosted The Vampira Show in 1954. We talk about her rise to fame and the loss of it, her relationship with James Dean, and her rivalry with Elvira.

Horror hosts emerged nationwide after Vampira burst onto the late night Los Angeles television scene in 1954. In 1971, Nashville's WSM-TV launched their own with Creature Feature Saturday hosted by Sir Cecil Creape.
