Joining us on this week's episode is Christina Chriss of the band Kaleido! We talk to Christina about how Kaleido formed, and dive deep into the lyrical content of some of her most recent music. She shares her thoughts on music as a form of therapy, and how she frequently receives messages from fans about how her music has helped them through dark times. We talk about obstacles in the music industry, and how being independent is possibly the best strategy for a band in 2020. Wrapping up, we discuss the Coronavirus and how Christina plans to move forward amidst the pandemic. Comment below what other topics you would like us to cover and guests you would like to hear from! And as always, please like, share, and subscribe!
Full of piss and vinegar. That is how the band Kaleido has been described over the years. Been in the indie rock scene for a bit and originally from Detroit, Michigan. Christina Chriss fronts the band and joined the DOMKcast on episode 74. Hear about her rapping abilities. She celebrates all types of music and that lead her to experimenting with rap on her solo stuff. Hear about her epic ecounter with popstar Justin Bieber. A moment she'll never forget for all the wrong reasons. The band is good friends with Alien Ant Farm and has worked with them in the past. Any plans to do anything in the future? Kaleido has also been apart of shiprocked and hear about her experiences performing with members of Papa Roach and Filter. Did they pull any rockstar moves like throwing TV's into the ocean or anything along those lines? You'll have to listen to find out. Christina did reveal that she did quite a bit of karaoke while on shiprocked. Go-to seems to be "Love Is A Battlefield" by Pat Benatar. Kaleido is known for their live shows and the fans have been responding to their new music. They're looking to release an EP soon which will include the song "My Enemy". You'll hear it at the end of this episode. The band has been in the indie rock scene for 6 years. Hear about the trials and tribulations of going through the music business these days. Christina Chriss from the band Kaleido on episode 74 of the DOMKcast with Lunchbox and Promo Brady. #DOMKRocks
