Welcome back to another electrifying episode of the Metal Maniacs Podcast, where your hosts Jay Ingersoll and Modd dive deep into the heavy metal underground to bring you the best in music, interviews, and discussions. In our 61st episode, we're thrilled to be joined by Muskegon's longest-running metal band, Kill Tomorrow. Kill Tomorrow, formed in the heart of Muskegon in 2003, has been a steadfast force in the metalcore scene for over two decades. Their music is characterized by brutal growls, crushing guitar riffs, and an aggressive style that has won them a loyal following. In this episode, we dig into the band's rich history, starting with their early days and their first album *When All Is Lost* (2003). We talk about the evolution of their sound, the milestones they've achieved, and how they've managed to stay relevant in a constantly changing music scene. One of the highlights of this episode is our deep dive into Kill Tomorrow's discography. Fast forward to their latest release, *More Harder and Heavy Ish* (2023), and it's clear that Kill Tomorrow has only grown stronger. The production quality is top-notch, allowing the band's playing to shine through. The riffs are heavier, the songwriting more refined, and the vocals more diverse, with a noticeable influence from Glen Benton's deep, guttural style. Tracks like “Pornographic Memory” and “Redemption” highlight the band's ability to mix brutal heaviness with melody and groove, making for a dynamic listening experience. The band's technical prowess is also on full display in tracks like “I Am the Liquor,” where they experiment with different recording techniques to bring out the best in their performance. We discuss how these choices are made in the studio and the thought process behind their music's unique sound. No conversation with a band like Kill Tomorrow would be complete without discussing their live performances. Known for their energetic and intense shows, Kill Tomorrow brings the same level of aggression and passion to the stage as they do to their recordings. The band shares some of their favorite shows, including recent performances on June 1st at The Patio and July 13th at The Music Factory. They reflect on what makes a show stand out, from the energy of the crowd to the chemistry on stage. Of course, not every show goes off without a hitch, and the band opens up about some of their worst show experiences and how they've learned from those moments. They also share insights into their practice schedule and how they stay sharp and ready for whatever comes next. Beyond the music, we get to know the members of Kill Tomorrow on a more personal level. The band members also talk about their hobbies outside of music and what they're listening to right now. It's clear that their passion for metal runs deep, but they're also well-rounded individuals with a variety of interests that help fuel their creativity. As we wrap up the episode, we look ahead to what's next for Kill Tomorrow. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to their music, this episode offers a comprehensive look at what makes Kill Tomorrow one of Muskegon's most enduring and exciting metal acts. As always, we want to thank our listeners for tuning in to the Metal Maniacs Podcast. We hope you enjoyed this in-depth interview with Kill Tomorrow and learned something new about this incredible band. Be sure to check out their music, follow them on social media, and keep an eye out for their upcoming album and tour dates.

So that means she can dance AND Fly! She is From Mexico and studied TV Production at university. She has been living in New South Wales in Australia for the last 4 years and you know how much I love Australia, so we'll talk a bit about that too! Please help me welcome, the amazing, Marifer Calderon! Marifer worked in the Club Med Resorts of Ixtapa, Turks and Caicos, Phuket, Ria Bintan, and Cherating. A former colleague of hers in television production went to work for Club Med and suggested she give it a try. Marifer takes us on her Club Med journey in 2011 starting as a salsa instructor to being a Chief of Animation/Potential CDV during her last season in 2017. In this episode of Other Record Labels, Scott shares in an insightful conversation with Emmet, the mastermind behind BudTapes, a record label based in the Pacific Northwest city of Portland, Oregon. Like the say, "Fake it till you make it!" ★★ This episode is presented by Hypeddit - Learn more at http://otherrecordlabels.com/hypeddit Emmet's journey into the music industry started when he submitted his own music to a label he deeply admired. However, he soon discovered that this particular label wasn't a "real" record label per se; it was more like a "fake label" used to release their friends' music. This revelation was an eye-opener for Emmet, who had always harbored dreams of running his own record label. It showed him that, just like that admired label, he too could create a platform for artists with Bud Tapes. In truth, many of us are navigating our paths in the music industry by pretending we have it all figured out until we actually do. It reinforces the notion that we're all in this together, learning and growing as we go along. A sentiment that Emmet and I discuss in this week's episode! Titres interprétés- Love in Time Live RFI + voir vidéo RFI - Fire Eater, extrait de l'EP Fire Eater voir le clip - Side To Side Live RFI + voir vidéo RFI. Line Up : Days aka Racecar, voix ; Fabien Sautet, batterie ; Gregory Hector, basse ; Martin Smith, guitare ; Benjamin Des Gachons, clavier ; Laurent Dumont, saxophone baryton / flûte ; Gaël Fajeau, trompette.Son : Benoît Letirant et Jérémie Besset.► Album Running The Way / Ep Fire Eater (Office Home Rds / The Pusher 2023).
We are so excited to have Ari Joshua as our guest on No Simple Road This week! For years, shamanistic guitarist and composer Ari Joshua has been one of those “musician's musicians” who those “in the know” rave about but remains under the radar to the public. Struggles with substance abuse; a severe car accident; Ari's commitment to music education with the successful school he founded, The Music Factory; and the daunting task of mixing have kept him in something of a creative holding pattern.Ari is finally opening his vault and sharing a catalog of recordings that feature his masterful musicianship alongside such revered instrumentalists as four-time Grammy-winning artist Robert Glasper, Marco Benevento, Joe Russo, Delvon Lamarr, Skerik, and members of the Trey Anastasio Band. These tracks will be issued in various configurations, and they document a spiritual journey of a prodigious talent all-consumed by his passion for music. We talk with Ari about:Growing up on the east coast and receiving a scholarship to music school. His struggles and triumphs in running his own music school, The Music Factory.Having Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam as a mentor.Buying the building for The Music Factory with the help of local investors. His early connection to frequency and sound.Overcoming his fear of sharing his art. What it means to find our own personal 'Black Hole' and what we do with it when we find it.Having the guts to just 'go for it' when you feel something move you.How the Grunge Era and the Seattle music scene shaped his life and sound.Finding focus when you have a ton of things on your plate.Ways to serve your own creative abilities.... and so much more!SONG AT THE START FO THE INTERVIEW: 'Lest's Do It Right Now' (feat. Record store owner and self-professed 'music geek' David Lewis (Elizabeth's Records - Columbus, OH) thinks we should never stop discovering new (to us) music. He's right. Around 10 years ago he came upon the 1972 debut album by German experimental rock group Agitation Free, 'Malesch'. A mysterious fusion of psychedelia, experimental krautrock and world music, it's a fascinating snapshot of a band working together to create a trippy, ethereal and unique wall of sound. Songs featured in this episode: Laila III - Agitation Free (Live in Paris ORTF Studio, 1973); Future Games - Fleetwood Mac; Hallogallo - Neu!; Phaedra - Tangerine Dream; Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - Black Sabbath; Winning - The Sound; You Play For Us Today, Sahara City - Agitation Free; New Dawn Fades - New Order; Ala Tul - Agitation Free; Supernaut - Black Sabbath; Outside Tokyo - The Stranglers; Pulse - Agitation Free; Departure From The Northern Wasteland - Michael Hoenig; Pruit Igoe - Philip Glass; Khan El Khalili - Agitation Free; Jessica - The Allman Brothers; No One Is There - Nico; V-2 Schneider - David Bowie; Malesch - Agitation Free; Utopia III (excerpt) - Thomas Kessler; Malesch, Rücksturz - Agitation Free; Emka - My Education; Music Factory - Agitation Free (Live Mainz Germany, 1972)

True House Stories Podcast with special guests by Lenny Fontana
TRUE HOUSE STORIES W/ DAVE BEER # 081 - PART 2 In this episode you will hear Dave Beer explain the faced post-warehouse party world with the DIY ethos of a punk direction helping to create Back To Basics in 1991 which it was named literally to represent what the club was set out to do. Partners Beer and Alistair grew tired of the acid house scene and wanted to put on parties, where alternative music to the rave scene was played. Through Back To Basics, they made club nights fashionable, and throughout the 1990s it was one of the most desirable places to go, causing road blocks in Leeds city centre. At the time, Back to Basics had a strict, sometimes controversial and inconsistent door policy which made it one of the hardest clubs to get into. Beer personally greeted all 80 clubbers on the opening night and those who were refused entry due to their dummy sucking or poor choice of trainers were encouraged to try harder next time. Its opening night was held on the top floor of The Chocolate Factory, which was later renamed, The Music Factory. Weeks two and three of Back To Basics saw the crowds double in size until it was attracting 1,000 clubbers every week. By Nov 1992 at the end of its first year, Dave and Alistair found themselves on stage at the Royal Albert Hall, looking out to a packed auditorium as they picked up the DMC and Mixmag Award for Best Club in the UK. Over the next 20 years from 1991 to the present day, Beer toured Back To Basics all over the world from Australia to the USA and held club residencies at Home London, and Space Ibiza. He was responsible for nurturing and discovering the talent of Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and Groove Armada giving them some of their first gigs as unknown artists. Beer was also responsible for bringing international talent into the UK for the first-time including Danny Tenaglia, Doc Martin, Josh Wink and Frankie Knuckles. Back To Basics holds numerous awards from the music and events industry and has gained worldwide recognition thanks to its forward-thinking music policy and loyal following. Today it is considered a "household name" in UK clubbing and Beer continues to be "the life and soul" of the Basics party. Listen to breakdown the next 20 years in this episode.
