Welcome back to another energizing edition of Party Favorz's Funky House Music sets! If you're a seasoned listener, you know what you're in for—high-octane tunes that'll get your feet tapping and your heart racing. For newcomers, you're about to discover why Funky House Music is a beloved cornerstone of our extensive dance music catalog. The UK Shapeshifters are no strangers to the dance scene, consistently delivering groovy anthems that make you move. Their rendition of "Slippery People," originally by the Talking Heads and featuring Ramona Renea & Fiorious, is no exception. This makeover takes the classic and adds a hypnotic bassline that slides you effortlessly into the groove. It's not just a track; it's a transformative experience that transcends time and genre. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u0DBRKrXyI Next up, LF SYSTEM's "Hungry (For Love)" offers a succulent blend of funky synths and pulsating rhythms that'll leave you craving for more. There's a rawness to it, something intangibly authentic that harks back to the roots of Funky House while boldly stepping into the contemporary scene. Birdee's versatility shines in our latest Funky House set, remixing Joey Montenegro's "Do What You Feel" with a groove that effortlessly melds old-school and contemporary vibes. Not to be outdone, his original track "Gotta Keep On" takes you on a euphoric ride with its compelling rhythms, solidifying Birdee as an emerging powerhouse in the scene. Similarly, Dr Packer leaves an indelible imprint on our playlist with two standout tracks. His extended mix of Staxx's "Joy" transforms the song into a vibrant, feel-good journey, while his remix of Yolanda Wyns's "I Know You, I Live You" masterfully marries robust vocals and a captivating beat. Both artists prove that whether it's in the realm of remixing or original creation, their unique flair sets the stage for unforgettable dance experiences. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgtKSOCy9zg Tensnake's "Coma Cat," reworked by Purple Disco Machine, then takes the set to new heights. The extended re-work gives this already iconic tune an innovative touch, blending nu-disco elements and classic Funky House sounds that make for an aural treat. Finally, "Keep It Movin" by Patrick Wayne & DJ ThreeJay closes out our set with a robust blend of uplifting beats and invigorating basslines that keep the energy soaring right to the end. It's the type of track that epitomizes what Funky House is all about: a compelling beat, memorable vocals, and the ineffable quality that makes you want to dance until dawn. These gems,

I recently had the huge honor of DJing my first ever wedding for two friends of mine; Jim & Matt! I traveled to Berkeley, California for a super fun weekend, and attended a beautiful ceremony held at a gorgeous countryside ranch in Point Reyes Station. Surrounded by the picaresque landscape, psychedelic art, and wonderful wedding attendees, I was asked to prepare a set of happy and fun disco house. As a DJ, I love picking music to fit the mood and vibe of the setting, and I wanted to create an unforgettable night of joyous music for the grooms for this momentous occasion. The vibe of the tracks I picked all feel joyous, and celebratory, with the theme of celebrating love, desire, and the spirit of disco. Given that it was a wedding, I assumed most people in attendance would want to hear recognizable tracks; and I got a lot of (very ON POINT) requests (Hence 100% Pure Love shows up twice lol). But I was surprised at how many people were more than willing to get on board with tracks that are not immediately recognizable radio hits. One of my favorite moments of a night that was filled with magic, was when the officiator of the wedding, a fierce and funny woman in her 90s, set down her wine glass so should could properly get down to Tensnake's Coma Cat on the dance floor. The set includes two drag numbers by the beautiful Zohara Platinum, as well as two funny and heartfelt wedding toasts by Richard and Carlisle. I had an absolute blast playing this wedding for Jim & Matt, and was so honored to be included in their special day! I hope you enjoy listening
Marco Niemerski aka Tensnake is a producer, DJ and label boss known for making 80s-inspired house and disco. Following his huge 2010 hit, Coma Cat, he collaborated with Nile Rodgers, Jacques Lu Cont and Jamie Lidell, played stages from Coachella to Glastonbury. But what will happen when we ask him to spec up his fantasy Forever Studio? Can we successfully upsell his dreams, or will he get bogged down in plumbing logistics? Listen to find out.

In a land that has no ego and a table that has no head, Round Table Knights are constantly pushing their talents as DJs and Producers to the limits and evolving with the output. Hailing from Bern, Switzerland Round Table Knights were originally a four man scratch DJ collective with a penchant for hip-hop, rock, electro and jazz. “We fell in love with House Music because it’s a very wide and open kind of music, you can put whatever influences in there. If you do it with your own style and with taste it’s a very good thing" Following a stellar EP on Deadfish, 2010 saw their first EP for Made to Play get signed on the spot by Jesse Rose and go on to become one of the catchiest outputs to date, with support from everyone from Luciano to Annie Mac in her Glastonbury set. The resulting avalanche of productivity and popularity snowballed further with ‘Cut To The Top’ featuring the legendary Swiss garage-rock legend Reverend Beat-Man on vocals and combining elements of garage, blues and of course their irrefutable house beats. Never delivering an output that could be considered ’typical’ their kudos as remixers was also duly noted with projects on Gomma and Defected turning some serious heads and their remix of Tensnake’s Coma Cat going on to become Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune. Upcoming projects include a remix of Jesse Rose’s ‘Non-Stop’ on Made to Play and remixes for Modular and Loungin’ Recordings plus the release of their debut artist album ‘Say What?!’ on Made to Play in Feb 2011. “The album is like when you listen to a Round Table Knights DJ Mix, there are always some songs from different genres that you wouldn’t expect in an average House DJ Mix, we like these little surprising moments of finding out that something you would never expect fits together very well.” After a ten year journey, the Swiss Beardies have less ‘Cut To The Top’ than mixed, scratched and grafted their way up there and with a member who already gets mistaken as Claude VonStroke it seems the sky is the limit for the bearded masters of forward thinking, surprising house music.
