Medicus Pharma CEO Dr Raza Bokhari joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce news that the company's Investigational New Animal Drug (INAD), featuring a dissolvable doxorubicin-containing microneedle array, has been granted Minor Use in Major Species Designation or MUMS by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This designation marks a significant step forward for Medicus Pharma's mission to revolutionize veterinary oncology. The FDA's MUMS designation is a pivotal milestone, akin to the Orphan Drug status for human medicines. It offers Medicus Pharma an extended 7-year period of exclusive marketing rights following approval or conditional approval, provided the company fulfills all regulatory requirements for maintaining the designation. This exclusivity positions the company to make a profound impact on treating external squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in horses. The innovative doxorubicin-containing microneedle array is a patent-protected, dissolvable transdermal patch designed with cellulose-based microneedles. These microneedles are tip-loaded with doxorubicin, a potent chemotherapy agent. When applied, the microneedles penetrate the stratum corneum layer of the skin, creating temporary microchannels. This allows the microneedles to reach the tumor, dissolve, and release doxorubicin directly into the targeted area, effectively eradicating cancer cells while minimizing systemic side effects. Squamous cell carcinoma is a significant concern in horses, particularly in adult or aged animals with white or partially white coats. Breeds such as Appaloosa, Belgian, American Paint, and Pinto are especially susceptible. SCC typically develops in areas with minimal pigmentation and sparse hair, often around mucous membranes. Commonly affected areas include the eyes, lips, nose, anus, and external genitalia. With an overall incidence rate of 2-3%, this condition impacts a notable portion of the U.S. horse population, estimated to be between 6.6 and 7.25 million horses. #proactiveinvestors #nasdaq #mdcx #tsxv #mdcx #pharma #CancerTreatment #HorseHealth #FDAApproval #InnovationInMedicine #SquamousCellCarcinoma #EquineCare #RazaBokhari #MUMSDesignation #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

In late July, I was honored to have Tracy Hoth back in my home again, and it took both time and convincing to get her here.Nearly a decade ago, I hired her for some professional-organization help, and she was fantastic. Our package was broken into tiers, and -- due to some critical life changes -- we had a little bit of a gap in between tiers one and two. Many moons later, she appeared in the people-you-might-know section of one of my social-media platforms. I reached out and pitched her on the idea of doing a podcast episode with me. She declined, saying that she wasn't much of a music person.I rolled up my sleeves and explained why I thought we could have a good conversation, and -- to my delight -- she accepted.Tracy is a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother of four, and probably many other amazing things (that I don't know about), too. I do, however, know that she is a life coach, a professional organizer, and the host of The Organized Coach podcast, which you can find on Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music. So, we talked about her professional endeavors, her family, the detour they experienced a little over nine years ago, and we managed to talk about music, too. When I asked Tracy for a list, she gave me a collection of songs, sentiments, memories, and artists. I took the liberty of squeezing that into my format, and -- having done so -- her list looks like this:The Run, Appaloosa, Run soundtrack (1966)John Denver's Poems, Prayers & Promises (1971)Fancy Free (1981), The Oak Ridge BoysBritt Nicole's Say It (2007)Lauren Daigle's discography (2015-2023)I had a lot of fun sitting and chatting with Tracy. I'm not only thankful that she was courageous enough to do something she didn't think she'd be a good fit at, but grateful that she took the time to commute down to the studio and collaborate with another local podcaster. So, thank you, Tracy. You can find out more information about Tracy's awesome business and podcast here.I appreciate the support you all give the show.copyright disclaimer: I do not own the rights to the audio samples contained within this episode. It's time for Horse Progress Days!  It's one of our favorite events of the year, and this July it was held in Lancaster County, PA - just in time for the height of a national heatwave.  Everyone soldiered on through, though, with nary a complaint to be found from this stoic bunch.  It was a good thing everyone pushed through the heat until the close of the day, because the HPD organizers saved some of the best for last (okay, the middle and beginning was pretty good, too).  The Backyard Green Films bunch had a front row seat for the Breed Presentation.  With longtime HPD participant Dale Stoltzfus doing a wonderfully informative commentary track, horses of every size, shape and color were on view, and riders, drivers, leaders and be-free-rs were putting on a show. The commentary was so informative that we wanted to bring it all to you on our podcast, but in a few days you can go to the Backyard Green Films YouTube channel to get a (dusty) front-row visual as well.  Either way, we hope you feel like you were sitting right next to us for the whole show. Links:https://horseprogressdays.com/2024-event-information/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhZba-P7R18&t=81sSupport the Show.

The results released were radioactivity readings from a RS-230 BGO Super-SPEC Handheld Gamma-Ray Spectrometer.   Drew Zimmerman, President and CEO of Stallion joins us to explain what the radioactivity readings mean for the potential of uranium and other metals. We also discuss the 2nd hole that is currently being drilled. We then look past to current drill program to discuss the exploration plans for other targets on the Coffer Project and other projects held by the Company in the Athabasca Basin.   If you have any follow up questions for Drew please email us at Fleck@kereport.com and Shad@kereport.com.   Click here to visit the Stallion Uranium website to learn more about the Company.

Welcome to Start By Listening! We are excited to have you on this journey with us toward healing and transformation.  Start By Listening is a podcast about sexual harm, trauma and advocacy.  Season Three - Hodge Podge - We are taking SBL to the community and speaking with various groups and people on the traumas they encounter in their part of the community and asking how they may want their organization to address trauma survivors in the future. This season, we will be delivering exceptional conversations and creative ideas while creating a safe space for connection and thoughtful experiences. We are going beyond sexual harm and really asking, "What does trauma look like and what does this experience look like for the Western Kentucky communities we serve?" We will be talking with various community members, and delving into difficult conversations where trauma intersects our communities and people. Season Three finds us growing and changing how we do our work. Our goal is to drop 2-3 podcasts per month on Fridays and you will find most of our episodes on YouTube as well! Yes, New Beginnings has a YouTube channel. In this episode, New Beginnings podcasters Jennifer, The Friendly Therapist, and Shelby, Victim Advocate have a very authentic conversation with Misty and Rick Baker - The Bridges Program in Owensboro, Ky. Misty and Rick utilize the Eagala Model which uses horses as a central theme of connection and safety to provide psychotherapy for clients. They work with soldiers at Ft. Campbell and local clients in Daviess County Kentucky, Eagala is a different kind of horse therapy, as there is no riding the horse, rather all of the work is done together in connection on the ground, side by side. For this episode, we had a magnificent experience with Misty and Rick, along with Patsy and Banjo - two of their horses who are new to their herd. It has been said that when you look into the eys of an elephant, whale or a horse, you are looking into a soul....and this is very true. The ability for a horse to see you as you are in this exact moment, and reflect back to you what you are experiencing emotionally, physically and spiritually...well is that not pure embodiment and connection with a soul? Eagala removes the forest landscape, and allows you to see the individual trees....those trees that created the story of YOU and your lived experience....your story of who you were, who you are in this moment and who you are becoming. Welcome to a new world experience...with old world restorative practices that create resilience within your nervous system and allow safety and connection to occur with a horse, nature and humans.Rick Baker - From an early age I've had a love of horses. As a child I rode a lot, my mother was an accomplished horse woman and my grandfather made sure we had a variety of horses to ride, starting with my first pony…Snowball. Fast forward a few years, as life happens, horses took a back seat to making a living and raising my family. I was fortunate enough to get horses back into my life about 12 years ago. I Bought my first horse, an Appaloosa mare named Lil Bit then added my Quarter Horse mare Cheyenne, who was born on the farm where my wife worked, and this past summer a life long dream to own an American Mustang came true, her name is Shadow. I was able to retire in Jan of 2019 and work full-time with my wife, Misty Baker in her Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program, The Bridges Program. I serve on the team as an Equine Specialist, utilizing the Eagala model but my primary role is facilitating in a more direct hands on horsemanship intervention. Misty Baker - I was born loving horses, it is my Mother's legacy, and I cannot remember a time in my life that I did not love horses.  I spent 9 years working in the field of therapeutic riding and was introduced to the Eagala model in 2007.   I started the Bridges Program in 2008, offering Eagala model Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, and added Circle MR Horsemanship in 2019, offering a more directive hands on therapeutic horsemanship intervention and Life Coaching.   I spent 16 years assisting victims of violent crime through the crime victim advocacy office, and the last 30 years working in the field of drug and alcohol dependency prevention through victim impact meetings.  I have 15 equine, 3 miniature horses, 1 miniature donkey and 11 full size horses of varying breeds and backgrounds, and 7 spoiled dogs.  You can reach Misty and Rick on their Facebook page or website (listed below) or you can call her at 270-231-3618 or 270-302-9383.The Bridges Program - https://thebridgesprogram.comFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/The-Bridges-Program-1047160011962829/Eagala Model of Therapy - https://www.eagala.org/indexA very special thank you to Patsy, Banjo, Cheyenne, Annie, Lakota, Chessie, Indy and Dirty Harry - your energy and presence were just what we needed......YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS THIS EPISODE. Remember to subscribe to our Podcast - Start By Listening - found on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Deezer and more! Also subscribe to our New Beginnings YouTube channel!! - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxT9OQkPpCPSAgcUhhqUkmQToday's YouTube Episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkaY7uc21P0Start By Listening will drop on Fridays, 2-3x monthly, bringing you an interesting and intriguing look into the work we do, while educating about trauma and healing. If you would like to reach out and contact Jennifer or Shelby, please email at SBL@nbowensboro.org. Finally, a few shout outs. If you liked our jingle jingle, hop on over to www.uriahwilde.com and talk with Seth Hedges. He created the beautiful music for our podcast. Thank you SETH! Another special thank you to Rodney Newton, he helped us learn how to put this Podcast together and create a beautiful thing. Thank you RODNEY!!!To find local resources for sexual abuse please visit www.RAINN.org or call the National Sexual Assault Hotline: 1-800-656-4673, 24/7/365

She trained horses for my amateur and youth clients who went on to win several titles as well. After her show career, Phyllis managed an equine breeding farm where she was in charge of all aspects of the Artificial Insemination Program from collection to breeding. Then, she was bitten by the photography bug, and a severe case of wanderlust, She has traveled the Earth capturing the amazing creatures that inhabit the world with us. I'm excited to share my conversation with Max Frumes, co-author of The Casesar's Palace Coup (with Sujeet Indap). I'm a big fan of the book and previously shared some notes on Twitter. It's a deep dive into the buyout and bankruptcy of casino giant Caesar's Entertainment and the slugfest between investors like Apollo, Oaktree, Appaloosa, GSO, Elliott, and some of the nation's most expensive law firms. It's a great introduction into the world of distressed investing and the prevailing culture. I've written previously about how distressed credit is a “knife fight over a limited number of slices” which shapes a scarcity mindset. The book illustrates the intense negotiations and explains the “creditor on creditor violence” that can take place (a recent example is Wesco). Max and I discussed how to break down such a complex story, explored key turning points, discussed the culture among distressed investors, what makes distressed investors successful, why there was no long-term damage for Apollo, how other investors were actually inspired by their moves, and how the space has changed in general. A key takeaway for me was that the participants in this game are very smart, creative, ruthless, and extremely competitive. This is a complex and difficult game to play and one should consider very carefully whether to enter the competition. A few quotes from the conversation: “It is a very rich, fascinating industry because it is a combination of chess and poker, depending on what stage a restructuring is at.” “Each of these firms does have their own personality. We go into detail about the origins of Apollo which was the most interesting because it was defined by brilliance and impunity, willing to push the bounds to the very edge of what is what's permissible under the law, under the credit docs. And that does go back to Mike Milken's firm Drexel Burnham. That's where Leon Black was one of the senior directors at the time it went bankrupt.” “Firms who are the most successful in this industry are those who have expert knowledge and a good handle on the legal aspect, understanding valuation, and then the industry knowledge itself mixed with understanding game theory. Some people are more savvy with the press. Some people are more savvy with the orchestration of creditor or organization. Some people are more willing to be an iconoclast and go against the grain.” “Ultimately the examiners reports said they had actual and constructive fraudulent conveyance claims against and corporate governance claims … a lot of them were simply because the creditors did not have independent directors during the time these decisions … where there's conflicts of interest. It seemed like the private equity sponsor was basically controlling everything. … So the lesson wasn't, maybe we shouldn't do those things. The lesson was let's put some independent directors in there.”

Chris Dawson and Russell Dilday interview Jim Jirkovsky! From breeding to judging, Jim Jirkovsky has been involved in virtually every facet of the Appaloosa industry for more than four decades. From his high school days when he would sneak out of class to go to rodeos, a deep passion for horses was instilled in him, turning into his life's work and a mindset that revolves around showing everyone how good an Appaloosa is can be. An ApHC-carded judge since 1987, Jim has served multiple terms on the national board of directors, has supported and served his regional club loyally for decades, and was recognized for his contributions beyond his barn throughout the region over a long period by his induction into the Nebraska Hall of Fame. Known to be a formidable competitor in the show ring, "Cowboy Jim" had many wins that predated the national pointed system, and since 1979/1980 has amassed a staggering 9,646.3 open points in everything from Halter to Reining to Driving and Heritage, and shown more than 400 horses to 334 Top Tens, 38 National Championships and Reserves, and 45 World Championships and Reserves. But it is the mentoring, coaching, and training that have helped his clients and friends achieve their highest goals that he is most proud of. Exhibiting, training, and coaching for years, Jim has played a significant role in producing 12 World's Best Appaloosas, three Iron Horse Award winners, and two of the only 16 Appaloosas in history to earn Gold Medallions. Ready with advice and assistance, Jim has lived daily as a mentor in every arena. He has represented the Appaloosa breed as an ambassador in open competitions, venues, and events worldwide.

Had a great time on the Podcast with Tommy Booth, Founder of the Wine Boss, LLC Brand in Paso Robles CA. Tommy has an amazing story of his journey to creating his company and I am sure you will enjoy it & be inspired as much as me... Born in Los Angeles in 1988. Grew up riding horses and helping dad run his vineyard business and Appaloosa program. Mom was Chicago born and pushed me academically, which led to my acceptance into Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo under the major of Wine and Viticulture. Dad passed away unexpectedly during my first quarter of college and so I juggled the vineyard business while obtaining my degree. After that I worked production and tasting room management in Paso Robles while continuing vineyard work in Los Angeles.  Eventually, I created the umbrella company Wine Boss LLC which titles my own winery license and tasting room. Using a great deal of persistence, I was able to make a private label wine for my favorite reggae rock band, Pepper, and several other bands within that genre of music. With business being as time consuming as it was, I was about to move on from vineyards when I received a call about replacing vines at a very familiar address. It was a vineyard my father and I installed 17 years prior so I took the job out of sentimental value.  However, dad had given me the account of a lifetime.. I came to find out that Kevin Hart was the new owner of the property. Divine (no pun intented) intervention - (haha had to steal that Dan ;) I've been working with Kev and his wines for 3 years now, hoping this leads to something huge for my brand.
