Auf dem Dachboden hat Luzi eine geheimnisvolle Sternenkarte mit Zauberschrift gefunden. Und immer wenn sie die magischen Worte ausspricht, plumpsen drei große Wesen in ihr Zimmer. Sie sehen zwar ein bisschen aus wie dicke Walrösser, sind aber die intergalaktischen Halbfeen Leopold, Panini und Bruno vom Moffel-Planeten. Und wenn Luzi reimt, kann sie sich von den Moffels etwas wünschen. Luzi würde zu gern einmal die Moffels auf ihrem Moffel-Planeten besuchen. Wenn sie groß ist möchte sie auch Astronautin werden, dann sollte das doch klappen. Das Sandmännchen hat dir aber nicht nur diese Geschichte mitgebracht, sondern auch noch das Kinderlied “Planet” von Deniz Jaspersen.

„Pop und Politik in Deutschland“ will uns Marcus S. Kleiner schmackhaft machen mit seinem Sachbuch „Keine Macht für Niemand“. Darin erzählt er Zeitgeschichte anhand von 260 Songs, die etwas bewegen wollten. Die titelgebende Band „Ton Steine Scherben“ ist natürlich dabei, aber auch BAP, Marius Müller Westernhagen, Tocotronic und Hannes Wader. Wir haben uns jedenfalls gern mit dem umtriebigen Medien- und Kulturwissenschaftler unterhalten, der nebenbei auch noch ein Buch über Bruce Springsteen herausgebracht hat. Am 17.12.2025 trafen sich wieder Mitarbeiterinnen der Stadtbibliothek Marzahn-Hellersdorf im Stern-Zimmer an der LesBar und redeten über Gelesenes der letzten Wochen. Liebe Nation, Mitte der 1980er brach im deutschen Fernsehen die Blütezeit der Klamauk-Gameshows mit Kindergeburtstag-Charakter an. Weil die Rückspultastler da im besten Medien-Beeinflußungsalter waren – etwa sieben bis zehn – stellten solche Sendungen für sie die Krone der TV-Unterhaltung dar. In "Donnerlippchen" gab Jürgen von der Lippe den Zirkusdirektor im Hawaiihemd und verteilte großzügig Preise sowie Schleim – in Simons Liebling "Vier gegen Willi" setzte Supernase Mike Krüger mit je zwei Familien und Nagetier-Unterstützung zum Unterhaltungs-Frontalangriff an – in "Alles nichts oder!?" ließen Ulknudel Hella von Sinnen & ihr magersüchtiges Frettchen Hugo Egon Balder die Torten fliegen – in "Koffer Hoffer" versteigerte Kodderschnauze Karl Dall vergessene Gepäckstücke – in "Halli Galli" drehte Zauberer Detlef Simon (kurz: Desimo) "Donnerlippchen" auf Elf – und in "Zimmer frei!" war das ewige Moderationsduo Christine Westermann & Götz Alsmann auf der Suche nach prominenten Untermietern. Von der Presse zunächst verlacht und später mit Grimme-Preisen bedacht – den Weg dieser Formate zeichnen Simon & Sebastian nach in der fünften und vorerst letzten Ausgabe ihrer Rückspul-Reise quer durch den Humor vergangener Jahrzehnte. Das ist die Hochsaison, die man braucht fürs Geschäft auf der Insel. Wenn aber Gäste wegbleiben, weil es zu voll ist beginnt das Umdenken von der vollen Hütte zur Gästelenkung und Entzerrung der Besucherströme. Wir reden nicht von Mallorca, sondern von Usedom, Deutschlands östlichster Insel. Erholen dann, wenn es die eigenen Bedürfnisse erfüllt. Das soll, so wünschen sich das die Anbieter, immer öfter auch die Zeit zwischen Oktober und März sein. Das ist der Feriencheck auf der Insel Usedom im November. Dann wenn tote Hose ist, würden die Partygänger sagen. Oder auch dann, wenn endlich Ruhe und Entspannung einkehrt, meint der Urlaubsgast, der dringend mal runter kommen muss. Die Schattierungen dazwischen sind groß. Denn die Absicht ist eins, die Realität mitunter etwas anderes. Wie ist es Mitte November nach Usedom zu fahren, ohne zu wissen, ob die versprochene Ruhe nun zu Erholung oder Depression führt. Darüber berichtet dieser Podcast, dessen Recherche Mitte November stattfand. Was dabei an Erfahrungen „rüber kam“, gibt es in diesem Podcast zu hören. Das Ergebnis auch. Als Teddy aufwacht, riecht die Welt nach Zimt und Abenteuer. Auf dem Küchentisch liegt ein Zettel von Esel: „Bin kurz weg. Muss was probieren. Folge der Spur der Gewürze. Esel“ Teddy seufzt, nimmt seinen kleinen Rucksack und macht sich auf den Weg. Seine Reise beginnt in Genf. Am Seeufer sitzt ein alter Mann mit einem Stand voller seltsamer Pülverchen. „Hast du einen Esel gesehen?“, fragt Teddy. Der Mann schüttelt den Kopf. „Er war hier. Hat nach Mahleb gefragt und ist weiter nach Gerardsbergen.“ Teddy kauft eine Prise Mahleb, die nach Marzipan und Kirschen duftet, und rennt zum Zug. In Gerardsbergen riecht es nach Regen und Pommes. Auf den Treppen einer alten Kirche findet er eine Kritzelei an der Wand: „Zu wenig Bass. Zu wenig Schärfe. Weiter nach Urfa!“ Daneben klebt ein kleiner Papierteebeutel, darin: Urfa-Biber, dunkle, fermentierte Chili. Teddy niest. „Esel, du Nase.“ Der nächste Flug bringt ihn in die Türkei. In einem Markt in der Nähe von Şanlıurfa streicht eine Händlerin ihm über den Kopf. „Ein Esel war hier. Er hat nach einem Gewürz gefragt, das klingt wie ein Planet. Kalonji. An einer Straßenküche serviert ihm jemand Suppe. Oben drauf schwimmt etwas, das nach geröstetem Pfeffer und Erde riecht. „Ajowan“, erklärt der Koch. „Esel wollte nur probieren. Er meinte, sein Freund Teddy würde das mögen. Dann sprach er von Gitega, Hauptstadt von Burundi.“ Also fliegt Teddy nach Afrika. In Gitega ist die Luft warm und staubig. Auf einem kleinen Markt findet er einen Stand mit gläsernen Schraubgläsern. Ein Junge zeigt ihm eines mit winzigen Samen. „Raduni. Wie Selleriesamen. Der Esel hat gesagt, du wirst dir den Namen nie merken.“ „Wird er schon sehen“, murmelt Teddy und steckt das Glas ein. Die Spur führt weiter nach Geita in Tansania, dann nach Geumsan in Korea, wo alles nach Ginseng riecht. Überall dieselbe Geschichte: „Ja, Esel war hier. Hat gefragt, ob schon ein Teddy vorbeigekommen ist. Er hat's eilig.“ Teddy nicht. Er ist müde, aber jedes neue Gewürz lässt ihn weiterlaufen: Anardana aus Granatapfelkernen in Indien, Zedoar und Galgant, die scharf nach Ingwer und Wald schmecken. In Georgien stolpert er über Ajika, eine feurige Mischung, in Spanien über rotes Pimentón, in Tunesien über Tabil, in Japan über zitronig-prickelnden Sancho. Ganz am Ende sitzt Teddy in einem kleinen Zimmer in Geleen in Holland. Vor ihm auf dem Tisch: ein chaotischer Kreis aus Tütchen und Gläsern – Mahleb, Urfa-Biber, Kalonji, Ajowan, Raduni, Anardana, Zedoar, Galgant, Ajika, Pimentón, Amchur, Sancho, Tabil, ein Schälchen Zaatar. Die ganze Reise als Duft-Weltkarte. Die Tür geht auf. Esel steckt den Kopf hinein. „Na, du riechst ja wie ein ganzes Kochbuch.“ Teddy sieht ihn an, erst wütend, dann lachend. „Du warst immer nur ein Gewürz weiter?“ Esel setzt sich, nimmt eine Prise Zaatar und streut sie auf ein Stück Brot. „Ich wollte, dass du mich suchst.“ „Warum?“ „Weil man Freundschaft manchmal erst richtig schmeckt, wenn man einmal um die Welt gelaufen ist.“ Teddy überlegt kurz, beißt in das Brot und nickt. „Beim nächsten Mal“, sagt er, „suchst du mich.“ „Abgemacht“, grinst Esel.

Die Forscher Sind sprachbasierte KI-Modelle bereits so gut wie unser Gehirn? Gonçalo Guiomar forscht am AI Center der Eidgenössischen Technischen Hochschule ETH in Zürich. Das Resultat Angelehnt an eine Studie des Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT zeigt «Einstein» mit einem Schreib-Experiment, welchen Effekt KI auf unser Gehirn hat. Das Experiment zeigt: Je tiefer und vielfältiger unser Gehirn sich mit einem Thema auseinandersetzt, desto zufriedener sind wir mit unserer Leistung. Und: Nutzen wir KI, können Zitate aus einem geschriebenen Essay nicht reproduziert werden. Unsere Denkleistung wird circa 15-mal weniger aktiviert, wie wenn wir einen Aufsatz analog schreiben.

It can't be underestimated. But, how much does it evaporate all the issues that led to SDSU losing four games in a row, particularly the embarrassment against Indiana State and the swift, early 35-0 tailspin against Illinois State? How did that latter loss actually fuel Saturday's win? Can we now definitively say the Jacks can beat New Hampshire or even No. 3 Montana — which awaits the winner — without Chase Mason? We might not ever know the answer to that question, because head coach Dan Jackson on Monday told Happy Host John Gaskins he is "confident" in Mason being able to play in Saturday's home playoff game. So how does this change things for SDSU's postseason, if Mason indeed plays?  And, what do we make of others who cover the FCS accusing Jackson — we're paraphrasing here — of trying to use Jedi mind tricks and keep opponents guessing if Mason will play or not each of the last few weeks? On his daily "Hot Mic" show in Fargo, WDAY-TV's Voice of the Bison Dom Izzo said this on Monday: "The Chase Mason thing is beyond infuriating. And, I said it after the Bison game. FCS writer/analyst) Craig Haley and got ripped for it — and Craig was dead-on about it — it's just completely unnecessary. They warmed up Chase Mason again just for this illusion for the (FCS Playoffs) Committee that, 'Hey, he might be coming back.' He's not! "Jack Henry played and won the game. I think it was out there, like, 'Hey, if we lose, we might get our quarterback back. It's just so stupid unnecessary." You'll want to hear what Zimmer, who regularly goes to practice and was on the field observing Saturday's warmup, has to say about that assertion. SDSU also scored what appears to be a major recruiting victory on Friday night when Sioux Falls Lincoln quarterback Brody Schafer announced on social media his commitment to SDSU. Schafer is on pace to easily break older brother Tate Schafer's career passing and total yards and touchdowns in Class 11AAA, the state's highest level of high school football. Sanford Sports Academy's football director and veteran high school football analyst Kurtiss Riggs has called Schafer the best high school football quarterback talent to come from South Dakota. Riggs also feels like USD missed a golden opportunity to offer Schafer a scholarship before SDSU. Does Zimmer agree? Also in this episode, our latest conversation about a watered-down FCS playoff field thanks to the numerous departures from the subdivision to FBS the last several years. Does it make watching these playoffs so uninteresting that Zimmer pines for the Jacks to move up to the FBS the way many Bison fans and media do?

U.S. service members transitioning out of the military will now be able to access ChatGPT Plus for a year under a new offer from OpenAI that's aimed at helping them with their job hunt. The new offer, announced Monday ahead of Veterans Day, is available to service members who are within 12 months of separation or retirement, and any veteran within their first year of leaving service. Katrina Mulligan, OpenAI for Government's head of national security partnerships, said on a call with reporters ahead of the announcement. “We know that nearly 70% of veterans say finding employment is their biggest challenge, and we want to make that transition a little bit easier by providing support that's available anytime.” Mulligan said the idea for the offer started with OpenAI's own veteran employees who used the platform for their own career navigation. “They urged us to make these tools available to others going through the same experience, and we were really glad to support it,” she said.Through the new offer, eligible service members and veterans are able to access ChatGPT Plus — which is typically a $20 per month subscription, and boasts faster response time as well as priority access to new features — as well as some personalized content for veterans. That includes a “getting started” video targeted toward veterans, and over 100 example chats that Mulligan said were developed by veterans based on real tasks during a transition. The offer is not a direct partnership with the U.S. government via the Department of Veterans Affairs or Department of Defense — which the Trump administration calls the Department of War — but such collaboration isn't out of the question. The Department of Energy officially installed Dawn Zimmer as its chief information officer Friday, putting a pause — for now — on the revolving door at the agency's IT leadership office. According to an internal email obtained by FedScoop, Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced that Zimmer had been named Energy's permanent CIO. Her appointment comes after the installation — and subsequent departures — of two other permanent CIOs during the Trump administration. Zimmer joined Energy in 2024 as principal deputy CIO and has been serving as the acting IT chief between the appointments of permanent officials throughout this year. She was acting CIO before SpaceX engineer Ryan Riedel was named to the role and briefly took over in an acting capacity again when he left after one month. Days later, Google and Twitter alum Ross Graber was named CIO, but he left after less than two months in the role. That has left the agency without a permanent official since the end of April.
