Delight Your Marriage | Relationship Advice, Christianity, & Sexual Intimacy
Let's set the scene- You've planned the perfect evening. A Friday night—date night. You and your wife are dressed to the nines. There's a show, a fantastic dinner, and deep conversation that reconnects your hearts. But then you arrive back home… What are you hoping will happen next? Here's the truth: that unspoken hope—your expectation—might be doing more harm than you realize. When a husband subconsciously expects intimacy, it can feel like pressure to his wife. And that pressure? It makes her withdraw. Intimacy begins to feel transactional—like something she owes you, a “reward” for good effort, rather than a mutual outpouring of love. In fact, the more you expect it, the less she'll desire it. So, how do you break free from this pattern and draw her closer instead? Here are three key ideas: Drop the expectations & be content in your life (find true contentment in life by letting God satisfy you in many ways) Share your feelings more with your wife (She needs emotional connection in order to be open to physical intimacy) Think strategically about your marriage (You're intentional about your career, your goals—why not your marriage?) In today's episode, we unpack these three steps and explore how to release the pressure of expectations, discover fulfillment outside of intimacy (even when sex isn't in the picture) [We highly recommend you checking out Ep. 417: Re-sensitize Your Pleasure for more on this topic], and create a marriage that's full of joy, connection, and God-honoring pleasure. We believe God when he said he meant for couples to be “one flesh”. And we believe that he created intimacy to be unifying, satisfying, and connecting heart, soul, and body. We hope this episode brings a new perspective and new joy, intimacy, and connection into your marriage. God bless you! PPS - Here is a quote from a recent MRF graduate: "We were emotionally, intimately, and spiritually disconnected. We lived in the same house but didn't live together. I was angry and bitter, critical of everything, and judgmental. I hated that about myself. [Now,] My wife and I are closer than we have ever been! She has a glow. It's crazy how much we love each other. Life is fun! I can't stand to be without her. Glory to God!”
深みのあるカタログには「I Can't Take Losing You」や「Promises Can Break」といった隠れた名曲が数多く含まれており、代表曲「Don't Disturb This Groove」だけに留まらない豊かな音楽的レンジが垣間見えます。

Is masturbation right or wrong? There's a healthy pause that comes with answering this question because it's quite layered and there isn't scripture that provides a firm answer. Yet, we know that all things are permissible, but not all things are beneficial. In this conversation we'll take a bigger picture view at the issues involved. Touching yourself or doing something in private that you want to keep secret is riddled with shame and not helpful to your marriage connection. On the contrary, the idea of believing your body is good as you desire body awareness and self cultivation for the sake of sharing it with your husband can be beneficial and promote healthy connection. Listen in and bring this conversation to the Lord and your own marriage. Girl Ray - “Everybody's Saying That” from the 2023 album Prestige on Moshi Moshi London trio Girl Ray turn the beat around on today's Song of the Day with a dance-inspired track produced by Ben H. Allen, who's previously worked with Animal Collective, Gnarls Barkley, and Cut Copy, to name a very few. “The lyrics on this single were inspired by the straight-to-the-heart simplicity of the disco greats," vocalist/guitarist Poppy Hankin shared in a press release. "I wrote it while missing my partner while on tour in 2020, and it plays on themes of new love and self-doubt. Musically we took reference from the nu-disco resurgence that seemed to be taking off in 2020, in particular from the likes of Kylie Minogue (Disco), Jessie Ware (What's Your Pleasure?), Dua Lipa (Future Nostalgia), and Róisín Murphy (Róisín Machine). We were really inspired by all of these women re-imagining disco.” Read the full story at KEXP.orgSupport the show: https://www.kexp.org/donateSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this week's episode, let's cut through the taboos. We are talking about pleasure, about yonis, penises and so much more. We need to be okay with having these conversations. Sure, there may be an appropriate time and place, but these conversations are incredibly important. Incredibly empowering. These conversations about connecting to our sexuality, our sensuality, and just to our bodies, in general, are such pivotal points when it comes to talking about health and vitality. And to start this conversation, we are joined by Rosie Rees. Rosie is an activist for internalised freedom, a ground-breaking sex toy creator, sex educator, and pleasure pioneer. She is the founder of Yoni Pleasure Palace, The Naked Awakening (Women's Nude Yoga), Yinn Body, Splash Blanket, and one of Australia's leading Sex and Relationship Coaches. She is a voice for the taboo topics that keep us suppressed, for supporting people to shed the shame when it comes to their bodies and pleasure, and for creating more opportunities for women to appreciate themselves and experience the lifetime of pleasure available to them. In this week's episode, we talk about: Rosie's Journey in Life and Business Navigating Censorship Online Yoni Eggs, Crystal Sex Toys The “Stop Sucking It In” Movement And so much more. Três anos depois, ela voltou a fazer música, dessa vez como ela queria, e lançou o “What's Your Pleasure?”. Feels Good”. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/musicacronica/message
Feels! Good!'.
A GROOVY selection of tracks on this week's @weheardwonders - either groovy in the “this'll get you outta your seat, get you moving” kind of way, or groovy in the hip, sixties-inspired sense of the word. Following the triumphant What's Your Pleasure?, Jessie Ware's new record finds her in disco-diva mode once more - but is she still capable of transforming the most modest of kitchen discos into an opulent party palace? Why does Nabihah Iqbal's post-punk/new-wave leave Iain feeling so nostalgic? Wirral-upstarts The Dream Machine make us feel very old - is this a good or a bad thing? Should psych-chanteuse Isolde Lasoen be hired to do the next Bond theme? And has closet botanist Rudy De Anda been cultivating his talent since his 2020 debut? So many questions, and the answers can be found within! Finally, a masterclass in modern leftfield pop has the Vinyl Word. In this episode, co-hosts Alise and Lisa explore the importance of sensual communication – not *just* sexy talk, but a willingness to have real, meaningful conversations about all things pleasure. What bedroom topics have you explored with your partner? Lisa and Alise are here to remind you: Your partner is not a mind reader. Keep the crystal ball expectations out of the bedroom and let open, honest communication lubricate the fun! Our brains like to fill in the blanks. If we fail to communicate, it leaves the brain open to make up all kinds of stuff. These assumptions and stories can be pleasure and connection killers. Intentional communication helps deepen connection that allows for more pleasurable intimacy. Communication creates receptivity. The sacral and throat chakras are a natural pair to work well together to help enhance enjoyment on all levels. Sexy Talk vs Total Turn-Off Words: Different people have turn-ons and turn-offs in the word choice and story-telling departments during steamy times. Do you know your preferences? Have you communicated those preferences? Do you know your partners preferences, too? Whose Responsibility is Your Pleasure? WHOA! Lisa and Alise open a whole can of worms when they dive into the differences between codependency, independence, and inter-dependency when it comes to pleasure. Co-Dependence: My pleasure is your job. Independence: My pleasure is my job. Inter-dependence: Taking ownership together that we are going to strive toward mutual pleasure and satisfaction together. Let's not make challenges in the bedroom “problems to solve.” Rather than being “problems to solve,” challenges in the bedroom can be seen as “mysteries to explore.” And that feels a hell of a lot more fun! --- You can connect with both Alise and Lisa online. Singer-songwriter – and podcast royalty – Jessie Ware takes the driver's seat in this week's episode: talking nudist beaches, UHT milk and driving playlist democracy. After dosing up on Kwells, she chats to Jools and Jim about family holidays to Wales, and (not) tuna fishing in Mexico… You can listen to Jessie's latest album, What's Your Pleasure here. A Dig! This episode, we're taking a look at a fresh record. Jessie Ware's fourth album ‘What's Your Pleasure?' has been met with critical acclaim and a wave of public excitement like she's never received before. She's always made great music while traversing a very fine line between the underground and the mainstream. This week, we're discussing why this album feels so free and how she's handled pop pressure throughout her career.
Your Pleasure is your Power is a transmission. A healing of the divine feminine, a reclaiming of the ways of the Priestess. As you heal, Gaia heals. This is the true path of Ascension. A solocast and maybe way TMI. Unraveling the wounds of being a woman, a sexual being, and giving myself permission to feel pleasure. I share it all so that it might activate in you too. My prayer is this conversation is to spark within you your own reclamation of pleasure and power. Fuck yeah! Your hosts this episode: Patrique OptimalAudio TooBrokeToCare *THIS EPISODE WAS RECORDED WELL AFTER OTHER EPISODES BEING REFERENCED* It's time to celebrate the the new decade and to do that the podcast says goodbye and F-off to 2020. A year that was horrible and almost everything but the music. In this episode the guys rattle of the albums they just couldn't fit into their top 10 lists while also discussing some of the more disappointing and outright bad releases that came out this year. As well they discuss (at the time fo recording) the recently released Whole Lotta Red album by Carti and their frustration with the quick judgements around it, and also about Alice Coltrane and tastes in Jazz.
