February 6 is the national day for all Sami in Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the Kola-peninsula in Russia. It commemorates the first national meeting for the Sami in Norway in Trondheim in 1917, the first time a wide coalition of Sami in Norway gathered to discuss common Sami issues. This meeting was important in creating a common Sami movement. February 6 officially became the Sami national day in 1992. Today, the national day of the Sami is first and foremost celebrated in Sápmi, the northern parts of the Scandinavian peninsula. It is celebrated by raising the Sami flag and serving traditional Sami food like bidos. In Manndalen in Northern Troms, far north in Norway, where I live, there was a Sami exhibition, Sami theatre, and Sami food at the Centre for northern peoples, a Sami cultural centre. In the rest of Norway, February 6 is marked by raising the Norwegian flag in all public spaces. This is to congratulate the Sami people on their national day. However, the day is hardly celebrated in the rest of Norway, and February 6 is not a holiday. That means that everyone has to go to work or school, in contrast to May 17.

Režisér Jan Hřebejk ho kdysi představoval slovy: „To je Honza Kolařík, on je sice z Brna, ale je to výborný herec.“ Faktem je, že měl období, kdy hrál ve čtrnácti představeních a v hlavě nosil devět a půl hodiny textu. „Můj normální rytmus byl, že jsem se ráno probudil, zopakoval jsem si text, zopakoval jsem si ho po obědě a pak před představením. A po něm jsem si začal opakovat na další den. Ideální bylo, když jsme hráli jednu inscenaci, kde umřu asi čtvrt hodiny před koncem, a jak jsem tam ležel, už jsem si brblal na druhý den,“ vzpomíná Kolařík, který si předsevzal, že svůj repertoár bude rozšiřovat jen o dvě hry ročně. Saint Tryphon was the son of a priest from Novgorod. The Synaxarion records that, at the moment of his birth, the verse Blessed is the life of those who dwell in the desert was being sung in the Matins service. In 1525 he was moved by a divine revelation to flee to the far north of Russia and live as a hermit. He settled near the River Kola, where he devoted his nights to prayer, his days to proclaiming the Gospel of Christ to the native peoples there. The pagans were hostile at first, but his patience and humility won them over, and he baptized many. He built them a church with his own hands on the shores of Lake Ladoga, and later founded a monastery there. Saint Tryphon reposed in 1583. He predicted his own death and the coming destruction of the Monastery by the Swedes, which came to pass in 1590. All the monks were massacred. The first victim, Starets Jonah, worked many miracles at the Monastery after its restoration.

Sajani Amarasiri was born to launch her own business. She was entrepreneurial as a child growing up in Sri Lanka, studied supply chain management in college, and pursued numerous side hustles as a young adult. While working at Microsoft, she had the idea to launch the first networking and co-working space in Sri Lanka. Called Colombo Cooperative, the concept was embraced by the emerging entrepreneur community in her native country. Around the same time, back in the U.S., Sajani couldn't help but notice how Southeast Asian traditions and ingredients were influencing the wellness world, so she decided to launch her second bootstrapped brand, one that would pay homage to the Sri Lankan practices she and her family hold dear. That brand, Kola Goodies, earned Sajani the Cherry Bombe Women in Food Award as part of the Foxtrot Market 2022 Up & Comers competition.
