Should Christians Celebrate Halloween? Pt 1: Day of the Dead All around the world every year, children and their families carve pumpkins, make jack-o-lanterns, and dress up as their favorite superhero or villain and go door to door asking for candy. Even many Christians think that this holiday is harmless and even godly to an extent. However, many people are ignorant to the origins of this holiday that still have a hold on it today Day of the Dead: 12:20Connections to Halloween: 33:12Baron Samedi and Vodou: 43:57 Hope you enjoy Today's Episode and maybe take something from it If you have questions or want to learn about following Jesus, Email us at discoveringgodpodcast@gmail.com Join our Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/457929645240415/ Subscribe and Watch the Discovering God and Understanding The Bible Understanding The Bible Playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQuWRG6-FLXkUaYUYvLRdhT2DI-I0OCB_ 1. Repent of our sins 2. Turn to Jesus Christ 3. Believe in him (Believe that he died, was buried, and raised from the dead) The Bible says that as soon as we put out faith and trust in Jesus, God will forgive our sin and give us eternal life. Romans 10:9 “If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” John 3:16“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Time is short, accept Jesus Christ now! 2 people, one mission: To spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ before he returns. The Discovering God Podcast features Evan and Jarrod going from cover to cover on what the Bible says about Jesus Christ. Along with studying the Bible, they will also be discussing various topics about politics, abortion, homosexuality, and what the Bible says about these and many other things. Finally, they will also be answer view questions about the Bible, world events, or just about them (Minus weird or creepy questions of course) and will discuss them with a Biblical worldview and a Fundamentalist mindset On Understanding the Bible, Jarrod Knepp speaks on how you can come to have an understanding of the Word of God, applying it to our daily life as weel as looking at major world events and how they fit in line with the plan of God, as well as breaking down other religions and comparing them with Scripture and showing how they fail to Biblical Scripture. The last time we heard from our intrepid duo, Toby and James were making plans to go shooting together. It seems they fought off all temptation to take aim at one another because they’re back – hail, hearty and full of game. There is, of course, the continuing sagas of our times: Partygate, who’s really in charge of Covid policy and the inglorious end of the NHS vaccine mandate. In America there’s the fall out over The Joe Rogan Experience and whether our little show would fall foul of Spotify's new Covid rules. Rogan is just the beginning though, with the attachment of trigger warnings now being placed on Harry Potter, Oliver Twist and even 1984. In Culture Corner we tackle season four of Ozarks, The Puppetmaster, Arcane and All of Us are Dead (All available on Netflix). Opening sound this week is the PM in the House announcing the end of the mask mandate.
