Jace chats with writer Patric Lewandoski about his all ages graphic novel Future Girl. A simple time travel premises with two young protagonists, this is the perfect gift for young readers. There are some really great ideas and concepts in the story that can engage older readers as well. Plus if you really want to look at deeper meanings of our desire for continued existence and the consequences of our actions, there is plenty of that to. All this narrative is presented with a clean and simple art style that is pleasing to look at as well as proving the right tone and pace for the story.

This episode is dedicated to all things #OwnVoices. This movement (which you've no doubt come across on social media) champions diverse creators, and people telling their own stories - whether that be about their race, culture, disability or sexuality. We shine a spotlight on some of Australia's outstanding own voices talent, interviewing not one but three creators in the kidlit and YA spaces. (Please note we span some older reads than usual, should you have little ears listening out for kid-based content!). Meet middle grade author Remy Lai, author of critically acclaimed books Pie in the Sky and Fly on The Wall; artist, writer and Deaf activist Asphyxia, author of MG series The Grimstones and upcoming YA novel Future Girl; and award-winning YA author Alison Evans, author of Ida, Highway Bodies and Euphoria Kids. We also review some excellent new reads by Own Voices creators, so standby for book recs! Suneera Madhani had an idea that would change the payment processing industry, but when she told her then-bosses, they literally laughed in her face. Just several years later, Suneera heads up her own company, FattMerchant, that handles $2 billion in transactions and has also managed to modernize the entire payment processing industry. In her blast-off to fame within the tech world, she has attracted the attention of every major business publication, earning accolades and recognition along the way, all while raising two daughters with her husband. Oh, and did I mention she's only 30? *insert shocked emoji face* I loved diving into topics like entrepreneurship; trusting your gut; upending the status quo; and work life "balance" with Suneera. She's a wealth of knowledge on entrepreneurship and is equally open about her journey as a new mom. Follow along on Instagram for more daily stories and interviews! --> @SonniAbatta and @MomBossBlog

We return to complete the discussion of the season finale of the German Netflix series Dark. Perhaps the most intriguing questions center around the identity of Future Girl and her compatriots, and whether or not Noah and Bartosz are one and the same. Krista and Fred bring up some great points in Listener Feedback, and now the urge to resist season two spoilers is being challenged. Episode Grade: A+

Do you love cats? Do you love talking about cats? The Purrrcast is a brand new Los Angeles-based podcast from Sara Iyer and Steven Ray Morris where they chat with their friends and other feline fans about the furry little creatures they love. Not sure how the cats feel about it though, but I'm sure they love it too. On episode THIRTY-SEVEN of The Purrrcast we welcome Future Girl star Gina DeVivo to talk about her lovely little furballs (Reilly, Neiko, Jaxon), cat cosplay, and the truth behind Catman Scrothers (the talking cat on Future Girl). We also chat about lemurs, Neko Atsume theories, different snuggling styles, and Gina and Steven go off on a Harry Potter tangent for awhile. The Purrrcast, talking to cat people because we can't talk to their cats. New episodes every Wednesday!
