This week I spoke to Jono Shaw, President of Hemmings Motor News, to find out more about the new buying service called the "Frictionless Marketplace." For anyone who has bought a car online sight unseen it can be a little unnerving when you "win" the auction and are then left to figure out how to get the car legally, safely, and paid for without the fear of getting completely ripped off. Olivia and Genna Gentry (also known as the Gentry Sisters) have racing in their blood. Having grown up around the Hemmings Motor News Great Race, as soon as they were old enough, they were ready to participate! Olivia (20) is the driver while Genna (18) is the navigator. In 2021, the Gentry Sisters won the Hemmings Great Race, bettering the time of their next competitor that, by the way, was their mother and cousin.The Gentry Sisters take you through the grueling nine days that take place each summer and describe how intense and nerve-wracking it can be. Terry Shea is Hemmings Motor News Auction Editor and heads up a team of freelancers who are responsible for building the listings of the vehicles that are being offered at Hemmings Auctions. His career has included working in the media business at The Sporting News, as a freelancer, then as a contributor to dozens of automotive magazines and web site, providing words and photography. Terry joined Hemmings in 2011 as an editor and contributed to their three magazines: Hemmings Motor News, Hemmings Classic Car, and Hemmings Muscle Machine along with providing digital content for Hemmings.com. Not only does he get to meet lots of fellow enthusiasts, collectors, and like-minded collectors, but he also gets to drive a great number of vintage, antique, muscle, and exotic automobiles.
