Astrologers sometimes get carried away and say that every chart is totally unique. That's not really true. Obviously it's possible for two people to be born at the same place and time – or at least close enough that there's no real practical difference between their charts. Even people born a few days apart, but with the same degrees on their Ascendants, will have extremely similar charts. Their Moons will be in different signs, and that's important. But much else will be the same. Naturally as they go through life, such “time twins” will simultaneously experience almost the same transits and progressions. Because of that astrological similarity, we would expect many parallels in their lives – and in fact, we often do see exactly that phenomenon. Here's perhaps the most famous of these “time twin” tales: An ironmonger named Samuel Hemming was born on the same day as the English King, George III – June 4, 1738. They apparently looked very similar and there were many parallels in their lives. Hemming opened his business on the same day that George was crowned king. They married on the same day. They both had the same number and genders of children. They were sick at the same time and they both died on the same day – January 29, 1820 – of similar maladies. Stories of this sort are fairly abundant. As I was preparing to write this newsletter, I was poking around the internet and followed a link (astrologerpeg.wordpress.com/2015/01/18/time-twins) to a woman who bills herself as “Astrologer Peg.” I don't know her or what her sources are, but her site mentions that she studied with Noel Tyl, which is a good credential. In any case, I got two particularly dramatic versions of these “time twin” stories from her. I can't vouch for their accuracy, but I have no reason to doubt it – again, tales such as these are actually very common.

On this VIDEO episode Phillip is joined once again by Jason "The Vern" Hemming from the Cinema Recall podcast. Phillip starts the show by reading the general information about the movie with some trivia throughout. It's then time for Listener Opinions from Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Jason and Phillip continue to talk about their favorite parts of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. They have a great conversation. They answer the question of whether they noticed anything in this movie that Quentin Tarantino might have liked or used in a film. It's then time to individually rate the movie. Then they talk about whether they would buy the movie, rent it, or find it for free. Phillip then gives his Phil's Film Favorite of the Week; Flaming Star (1960) (3.5 stars). The Vern then gives some of his recommendations; Companion, Knock Knock, Death Game, and Hanna. Listen to Jason "The Vern" Hemming at https://www.cinemarecall.net/ Phillip then promotes next week's episode when he will be joined by Sam Panico from the B & S About Movies podcast to discuss 1967's The One Armed Swordsman. Thanks for listening

Send us a textThe ultra-trail world is buzzing as Canyon's 50K approaches, and we've got the ultimate preview loaded with analysis, predictions, and some good old-fashioned trash talk. In this special episode, host James Lauriello teams up with guest co-host Teddy Tonelli to break down what might be the most anticipated ultrarunning matchup of the year: defending champion Eli Hemming versus 2023 winner Hayden Hawks. These two titans of trail running bring nearly identical impressive résumés to the start line. Hawks recently dominated Terroir 50K with a blazing 3:18:46, while Hemming crushed Big Alta 50K in 3:19:30, leaving elite runners gasping in his wake. As Teddy puts it, "This should have a belt on the line" – it's that big of a heavyweight clash. The women's race promises equal drama with Jennifer "El Lobo" Lichtner squaring off against Tabor Hemming in a rematch of last year's battle where they were separated by just two minutes. Former champion Heather Jackson lurks as a potential spoiler after a disappointing showing at Black Canyon.Beyond the elite matchups, we dive into controversial topics like UTMB's eye-popping race fees ($285 for a 50K!), the exodus of talent from The North Face team, and what it means to "swim with sharks" when racing against the sport's best. We also spotlight dark horses who might surprise everyone, including local favorite Nick Handel and rising star Cade Michael.Whether you're placing bets, planning your race strategy, or just love ultra-trail drama, this episode delivers everything you need to know about one of America's premier ultrarunning events. And for those wanting even spicier commentary? Head to the Chasing Trail YouTube channel for the unedited "director's cut" version.

Gerry Did It!: Gerry Hemming and the Assassination of JFK - Mr. Alan Jules WebermanMr. Alan Jules Weberman Gerry Patrick Hemming invented Oswald. He first met him at Subic Bay when they were both in the Marines and him and Oswald when Huk hunting together - sneaking off base a killing Philippine communist guerrillas. Having committed murders together Oswald trusted Hemming who introducted hi to Angleton who sent Oswald to the Soviet Union to give info needed to shoot down U-2 and sabotage Summit Talks. Oswald returned, a re-defector, a Hemming got the bright idea to use him in a plot to kill the President of the United States and blame it on Fidel Castro. He had Oswald doing all kinds of stuff prior to the assassination like shooting at his friend Walker, going to the Sportsdrome Range and more. He offered him twice what Oswald paid for his Mannlicher Carcano and had he bring it to the TSBD the day of the big event. I got to know Gerry Hemming and his family pretty well and believe me he was a piece of work. He was unpredictable. He served as a conscience for Frank Sturgis who was a psychopathic killer. Hemming wrote this incredible scenario, Oswald forms Fair Play for Cuba Committee, gets in a staged fight with anti-Castro types, goes to Mexico City to get a visa to travel to Cuba. If he had been granted the visa he would have just got back from Cuba before he did the hit and it would look like Fidel put him up to it. You got to understand that all these dudes knew Fidel and was part of his revolution only to find out he was a Communist and a traitor. Hemming was locked up by Castro. The named INTERPEN, his anti-Castro group is in Oswald's Address Book. Eli Hemming is a professional runner for Adidas Terrex from Kremmling, Colorado. Eli is maybe my greatest competitor of this 2024: we shared the podium at OCC in Chamonix, where he was first and I was second, so I absolutely wanted to have him on the podcast at some point. We're good friends in life and great enemies during competitions, and we both think this is the best way to show our mutual respect as athletes and competitors: offering the best we're capable of to each other. In this conversation we talk about Eli's life and training with her wife Tabor, in their ranch on the mountains of Colorado, his background as an elite triathlete, becoming a professional trail runner, his upcoming debut in the 50m distance at JFK 50 this weekend and much more.
