There's a new press car in The Car Mom House, a Buick Enclave! Kelly can't wait to get Lizz's blind reaction but will she love the silver color? We do hear silver is making a comeback. Today in the podcast, Kelly and Lizz are giving their reactions to the Super Bowl and the real star of the show - Kendrick Lamar's jeans. Skechers must be rolling in it to score a Super Bowl spot with Martha Stewart. Tom Brady must be in need of money with as many spots he was in. Plus, why can't they just leave Taylor Swift alone? In Driveway Dumps, Kelly is newly obsessed with spoonflower. Lizz is discovering the jokes parents have been making for years in discovering the misogyny in "Wheels On the Bus." And once again they are asking, how many people are really off-roading? Kelly is answering your advice questions again today. First, she talks to a mom who is looking for an SUV to fit her three kids with plenty of trunk space. Is a minivan the real answer here? Then a mom is wondering what car seats to get to do three across on a Wagoneer. There is a new kind of electric vehicle coming to market in Industry News. What makes Ford's EREV different? Finally for Ditch the Drive-Thru Kelly is making a marry me chicken pasta. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Land Cruiser is one of Toyota's – and, arguably, the world's – most haloed marques. In this episode, Jason and Derek discuss its origins and history from its jeep origins, to its enormous family tree, all the way up to the brand new 250-series models, the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus GX550. Jason and the Hagerty crew traveled to the rugged, mountainous outskirts of Salt Lake City (and the nearby Land Cruiser Heritage Museum) to film an ICONS episode on the illustrious off-roading Toyota. And in this episode, the carmudgeons dive into the origins of the Japanese jeep and its Attila-grade family tree of subsequent series: the 20-series Land Cruiser and then the, 40, 55, 60, 70, 80, 100, 200, 250, and 300, just to name a few! The FJs, BJs, the Iron Pig, heavy duties, station wagons, Prados, the Lexus-badged models like the LX600 and GX550 (Motor 1's SUV of the year!). We'll even cover the Land Cruiser's competition along the way: the Jeep Wrangler, Compass, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Wagoneer; the Land Rover Defender, Range Rover, Velar, Discovery and Evoque; even the Ford Bronco and International Scout. In addition to the WWII Willys Jeep 4x4, we'll cover the origin of the “J” in BJ and FJ – an abbreviation for jeep, which itself many believe is a pseudo-acronym for GP or “general purpose,” but a fact-check says otherwise. Even the Land Cruiser name itself was a tweaked version of the Land Rover moniker to make Rando-kurūzā in Japan. Jason also reviews both of the new 250-series Prado trucks: the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser and 2024 Lexus GX550. We'll talk powertrain, styling, cargo and passenger capacity, comfort, handling, NVH, luxury, and more. Now let's get to it! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Paul Herrold of the Sons of Speed fills in for Jill this week. The hosts opened the show taking note of Cadillac's decision to end production of the XT4 compact crossover. What is General Motors building in its Fairfax assembly facility instead? Listen in. Paul and Tom turned their attention to Jeep's 2025 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer price cuts. Paul talked about a new Sons of Speed video, this one comparing two Hyundais: The Ioniq 5 N, and Elantra N. Both vehicles were evaluated at GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Michigan. In the second segment, Paul and Tom welcome Don Sikora of Collectible Automobile magazine to the podcast. Don walked the hosts through the contents of the December issue, and focused on an interesting look at the American Motors cars of 1965, Don also talked about the early Eighties Chevrolet Monte Carlo. In the last segment Paul is subjected to Tom's “Which Sold Better?” quiz. Paul also talked about the challenges and rewards of producing a local Cars & Coffee weekend car meet.

Shoot us a Text.Happy Election Day! Well, now that we've covered that… today we're talking about how Stellantis listened to dealers and cut prices on some Jeep models, how Tesla has given up on the human-driven affordable EV, and how your name might start being incorrectly spelled on Starbucks cups this fall.Show Notes with links:Stellantis has decided to significantly reduce prices on its 2025 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models to address dealer concerns about high prices slowing inventory turnover.Price cuts range from $3,000 to $7,000, depending on the model, with the base Wagoneer now starting at $61,945, while the Grand Wagoneer begins at $86,945.The U.S. market has shown demand; Wagoneer sales are up 79% and Grand Wagoneer sales up 25% through September, supported by both retail and fleet sales.Standard features have also been enhanced, including adaptive cruise control on the Wagoneer and a passenger display on the Grand Wagoneer.Bob Broderdorf, Jeep North America chief, stated, “By lowering MSRPs as much as $7,000 and enhancing standard equipment... these vehicles have become even more compelling.”Tesla CEO Elon Musk has put to rest hopes for a human-driven $25,000 EV. He recently revealed that an affordable Tesla would only make sense as a fully self-driving vehicle, shelving plans for an anticipated mass-market, human-driven model.Musk called the idea of a $25K human-driven EV “pointless” and “silly” without full autonomy.Tesla's updated plan now features the “Cybercab”, a two-door, two-seat autonomous vehicle priced at $25,000, planned for 2026.This strategy change represents a pivot from Tesla's initial goal of building 20 million affordable, human-driven vehicles annually by 2030.Tesla analyst Seth Goldstein “Tesla realized they were late to making an affordable vehicle versus their Chinese-EV peers… So, they changed their strategy rather than make a large investment to produce a new vehicle.”Get ready for your name to be spelled incorrectly on your coffee cup again. Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol is bringing Sharpies back into stores as part of his "Back to Starbucks" strategy, aiming to revive a personal touch that Starbucks lost during the pandemic. After three quarters of declining sales, Niccol is cutting unpopular items, like the Oleato, and removing charges for non-dairy substitutes.Sharpies will replace digital stickers on cups, allowing baristas to write personal notes or names, enhancing the in-store experience.Niccol's “Back to Starbucks” plan focuses on creating a warm, welcoming environment that highlights skilled, personable service.“Our fourth-quarter performance makes it clear that we need to fundamentally change our strategy so we can get back to growth,” said Niccol.Hosts: Paul J Daly and Kyle MountsierGet the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/ Read our most recent email at: https://www.asotu.com/media/push-back-email

In Podcast #328, John Davis and the MotorWeek crew are back from their travels to talk about a few new vehicles! Jessica starts things off with the reveal of the Jeep Wagoneer S. Then Alex switches gears to the recent updates to the Rivian R1T and R1S. And then we drive the Toyota Venza's replacement, the Crown Signia! Plus, a Lightning Round about theft at electric vehicle charging stations and a viewer has a question about charging PHEVs.
Girl get together ideas, house shopping, postpartum sundowners, and a much needed interview with Jessica Jermakian, VP of vehicle research at the IIHS have this episode filled to the brim. "That totally pencils" is a phrase Kelly stands by, and sister language is the new slang that smacks. Brown cow stunning is just between Kelly and Lizz. In today's driveway dumps, Kelly is now the widget mom advocating for moms everywhere to make their iPhone work for them. She's also making a perspective shift and finding balance by the week. She says, "Normalize giving yourself grace and going with your energy for the day." Lizz has an impressive idea for a girls get together. If you're in your making-a-new-mom-friend era listen up! Everyone brings 1-2 flower bouquets, mixes and matches them at the gather, and takes home a truly beautiful bouquet. And when your kiddos want to add to your flower collection, take a cue from Kelly and consider a tiny vase to make their picked dandelions extra cute. In today's industry interview, Jessica Jermakian shares why the IIHS tests above and beyond the government crash testing to measure self-protection and crash avoidance testing—including pedestrian collision avoidance testing. She also shares some little known auto-facts. SUVs are no longer outlier vehicles and nearly half of all fatal crashes are single-vehicle crashes. The IIHS full-size SUV crash test ratings are in and while the results aren't what everyone hoped they would be, they're likely to inspire change in the auto industry. Out of the three top selling SUVs—Wagoneer, Tahoe, and Expedition—the Wagoneer was the only vehicle that got credit for the IIHS top safety pick award. The Armada and Sequoia remain on the IIHS radar for future tests. Kelly is bringing a delicious copycat Chick-Fil-A sandwich to today's ditch the drive-through. ¿o no? Pues sí, si esos fueran los motivos de compra de los SUV, la facilidad de carga y el acceso a lugares más remotos. Porque, ¿cuáles son los motivos por los que la gente compra un SUV? Vamos a verlo: El primero: La moda.

Last October, Dr. Lynne Damali, a Forest Park, Georgia, chiropractor, traded in two cars for a new Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The Wagoneer gave her family everything the other cars didn't: space, luxury, and power, but Damali didn't anticipate what happened over the next two months.“They have bounced eight checks,” Damali said, referring to the dealership's payoffs on her two trade-ins that were sent to her credit unions.Damali made the deal at a Union City Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM; the dealership's new general manager confirmed the checks bounced because of a corporate processing error. Many consumers don't know that if there is a problem with their car trade's loan payoff, the owner must continue making monthly payments and insurance premiums until the payoff is complete.Read the full story here: https://www.atlantanewsfirst.com/2024/01/23/woman-trades-two-cars-one-ends-up-with-three-payments/

The guys take issue with Jeep's congress-like delays in getting the Wagoneer to market, and we hate the styling. The market agrees by steering clear of it and the more lux Grand Wagoneer. Car Spotting: Adams sees a Mitsubishi Montero. Remember those? Neither does anyone else, though Stephan recalls they were generally seen in front of a blue haze of oil smoke. Safety: Trauma surgeon Stephan Moran tells us of upcoming safety risks in the creep toward autonomous driving: Situational Ignorance. (Yes we all know many to whom this applies in all situations!) But looking out the window, scrolling your phone and general day-dreaming WILL NOT allow you time to correct in the face of an emergency. Then the guys bring up some lively conversation picking THREE cars in each category below: 1) Dead but cool cars we wish they'd bring back. 2) Car models that came back and were very good. 3) Cars that came back and should've stayed dead. Ugh, we're looking at you 2004 Ford T-bird revamp. Heaven help us. Agree or disagree? Which ones would you have picked? #carsoncallpodcast #steve.autos #traumasurgeonsafetytips #traumasurgery #montero

The Wagoneer has become one of the most loved nameplates of the Jeep empire. While maybe not as attached to Jeep's heritage as the CJ or Wrangler, the Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer helped established the idea of a sports utility vehicle in the minds of American consumers. Advertised as a luxurious way to get anywhere, the Grand Wagoneer has since become a hot collector's item. Adding to the Grand Wagoneer's lore is its death. Both Grand and standard Wagoneers were replaced by Cherokee nameplates and helped move Jeep along from its AMC days. Well, Jeep revived both the Grand Wagoneer and the Wagoneer are picking up where both models left off. The flagship of the Jeep brand, the Grand Wagoneer L takes the standard Grand Wagoneer and stretches its shell by a foot. Under the hood, you'll also find the next generation of Mopar power: the turbocharged, 3.0-liter Hurricane I6. On this episode of Quick Spin, Autoweek executive editor Tom Murphy hops behind the wheel of the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and puts it through its paces. Murphy takes you on a guided tour of the '23 Grand Wagoneer L and highlights its interior and exterior features. Later in the show, Murphy takes you along for a live drive review to show you how the Grand Wagoneer L performs in real-time. Adding to the show, host Wesley Wren chats with Murphy about the Grand Wagoneer, how it stacks up against the competitive set and the Hurricane I6. Closing the show, the two break down what makes this Jeep Grand Wagoneer L special.
