If you have unfulfilled longings, maybe to know true love, to be understood, to get that dream job, that college degree, to go on that vacation you’ve always dreamed about. If your soul is hurting because of unfulfilled hopes, what you need most is the Tree of Life. Pastor, author, teacher, Tim Keller knocks it out of the park with his insights. Then what our souls need most is a relationship with the living God. And once that’s a reality our souls need careful attention. Because our affections are so easily drawn away from having our thirsts quenched by the living God. So we talk about what it looks like in real life to keep our souls satisfied in Jesus. And finally, there are times when our hearts are hurting. We need a kind word, some understanding, some relief from our shame, or a sense that we’re not alone. The cure for our hurting hearts is the Tree of Life—the tree that was in the garden that points to another tree. Tim Keller points out powerfully that what ultimately heals our hearts is the gospel.
This week Pastor Jarod will teach us the importance of yielding to the Lordship of Christ so that we can live with quiet souls.
We all can get emotional at times. King David through the Psalms displayed multiple forms of emotion. Listen today as we learn how to have our spirits help us out when our emotions get the best of us.

A message about the battle for your soul.
As Jesus was being crucified two criminals also hung on crosses next to him. One hurled insults and condescending questions at him. The other experienced peace and a promise from Christ that he would be paradise with him that very day. One often portrayed as 'saved' the other 'condemned'. In this teaching, Caleb believes the 'insult hurler' gets a bit of a bad rap. After all, most of us have the same kind of feelings & questions about God. Where is he? Why won't he change my circumstances? Why is there so much pain? Does all 'this' simply end in death? These questions are all answered by what transpired on that first Easter. And the question Jesus asks us all to reflect on this Easter is, "How's your soul"?

Dr. Gene Selander asks us today, "How's your soul?" Paul is concerned about the apostles of the church because they are dying off. Will they be men who will continue the tradition of being true to Christ? He is looking at Timothy and concerned that Timothy has a good soul and is looking at three things: 1. His charge... the first thing is to pray. It's a person-to-God encounter. Transitions work on the soul. 2. His caution... We need to protect from heresy. 3. His concern... please proceed with continuity. When the soul is right, our behavior will be right. Transitions can bring forth transformations. We as a church can look out for each others souls. We can serve Him but we have to follow Him too!
