Succeeding in a male-dominated industry takes grit, determination, and female role models already paving the way. Today’s guest, Janine Iannarelli, an aircraft broker and entrepreneur who has been making her mark on this industry for over 30 years. Her first steps into aviation happened when a woman with her own aviation information business showed her it was possible. Having a strong female role model leading the way into aviation propelled Janine into the industry. And over 30 years later, she’s taken up the mantle for strong women in aviation. Janine shares with us how there have been times when there wasn’t a clear way forward, so she made one for herself. Janine considers herself a relationship builder and attributes this to why she’s been so successful with Par Avion. And how sometimes you need to end relationships if they’re just wasting your time. Because as a busy entrepreneur, your time is important. Time management is an absolutely vital skill to have when building and managing your own business, and Janine shares some of the principles she uses every day.  We talk about overcoming obstacles and how this can bring a bigger sense of clarity and determination. Janine is a firm believer in knowing what battles are the ones that will further your career. She also explains how she knows she’s doing the right thing in business - whether this means turning down what looks like a good deal or making time for yourself. How do you know you’re on the right path? Do you have a strong female role model in business? What time management skills do you follow? In This Episode: How your mentors and role models can end up appearing an unexpected time Why you need to make your own path What being a relationship builder consists of Why you need to let go of people who waste your time What time management skills and principles you need to master How overcoming obstacles makes you realize that you can do anything you want to Why you should pick your business battles How to know if you’re doing the right thing Why you might walk away from what looks like a good deal   Quotes: “It’s a career that I fell into. It’s not one that I sought out. And it’s not one that sought me. It is one of those unique opportunities that the lucky people in life stumble across and start to realize this is their passion. And I never left after that.” (2:10) “In the world, we live in today, where everything is rushed, everything is busy, it really is okay for you as an individual to choose how you spend your time.” (7:14) “We tend to avoid really important jobs because once we get into them, we know they’re going to time consuming.” (10:13) “Women have to walk this fine line and men don’t. And it’s because people simply do not look at men and call them any names. They just say they’re being tough in business. When a woman is tough in business, they tend to use the ‘b’ word. And I turn around and tell them to make sure they spell it with a capital B when they’re talking about me.” (13:54) “You really only gain insight through experience, and not out of a textbook, solely.” (18:01) Links Find Janine Iannarelli Online Find Par Avion Online | Facebook | Twitter | LinkedIn   Join From Side Hustle to CEO on Facebook Keep up with everything Women In Business Follow me, Dr. Cortney Baker on Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | LinkedIn KidsCare Home Health   Are you a female millennial entrepreneur who wants to start or scale your service-based business but not sure where to start? Coming off the high, known to all of us as OSH17, Marc and Rhonda spent the first portion of the show talking about the record attendance at Airventure and the many memories that came back with them.  From high altitude chambers, virtual reality, and root beer from Ardy and Ed's, they made the most of their 24 hour visit to the busiest airport in the world.  And they completed the triple play of Texas guests (starting with Teresa Stokes and Kevin Lacey) by bringing back Janine Iannarelli to update us with the trends impacting business aviation.  The leading indicators haven't changed much, but the energy is good, and may be showing some signs of positive movement.  Janine had some exciting news to share about recognition she earned in the industry and informed us of a couple of events coming up to drive more inclusion of women in aviation.  Listen and Learn. Happy Anniversary to Marc, celebrating his 5th year with the show. We thank you for listening and wish you BLUE SKIES and TAILWINDS!!!

Congratulations to all of us, as SImpleFlight Radio celebrates its 4th anniversary with this show.  And what better way to celebrate and kick off our 5th year, than by talking about the current state of the market and a vision of what's to come.  As usual, we welcomed Janine Iannarelli of Par Avion LTD (paravionltd.com) to lead us through the goings on in the business jet market.  From there we talked to the piston side of things.  Of special note, was the high energy associated with OSH16 and the feel good vibe that was evident from start to finish.  The air was filled with a sense of innovation, energy, and optimism.  That combined with what looks to be record crowds, puts a big stamp of approval on our current and future state. As always, Al and Marc would like to thank each of your for your continued loyalty and active involvement with the show.  We are proud of what we've built over the last four years, and look forward to making year five, the best one yet. Marc and Al welcomed back Janine Iannarelli of Par Avion Ltd to talk about the goings on in the business jet side of General Aviation.  Janine enlightened us to what's it like to walk with the stars at the Living Legends of Aviation Gala.  It was great to hear that indeed, aviation is the great equalizer, thanks to the passion we all share for flying.     The conversation moved to the very heated discussion of privatization of ATC.  There are two sides to every story, and it appears the airlines are on one side of the table, with GA firmly on the other.   Which of course led to the implications of this year's impending elections.  Current uncertainty is one of the forces driving the current trends.  Once that uncertainty is eliminated, it will be interesting to see where that will take us.   Blue Skies & Tailwinds
