In this episode of Men of Influence, host Tim Holloway sits down with Jay Cookingham, founder of Strategic Fathering Ministries, to discuss the transformative power of faith, mindset, and servant leadership. With decades of experience as a pastor, father, and mentor, Jay shares his journey of healing, forgiveness, and discovering God as the ultimate Father. From navigating the grief of losing his wife of 37 years to overcoming the challenges of an abusive childhood, Jay provides invaluable insights into building a faith-centered life and leading with purpose. This heartfelt conversation explores what it means to be a man of faith who leads by serving others. Drawing from the example of Jesus, the ultimate servant leader, Jay challenges the traditional views of leadership and calls men to embrace their God-given identities. Together, Tim and Jay unpack the keys to spiritual growth, the freedom found in forgiveness, and how to develop a mindset that reflects God's goodness in every aspect of life. Key Takeaways • Servant Leadership: True influence comes from serving others, as modeled by Jesus Christ. • Faith & Mindset: Faith isn't rooted in what God will do, but in trusting who He is. • Healing Journey: Forgiveness is the doorway to freedom and healing from past wounds. • God as Father: Experiencing God as Abba changes everything, giving men identity and purpose. • Emotional Freedom: Grief and lament are not weaknesses but pathways to deeper faith and healing. Are you ready to deepen your faith and step into your purpose as a man of influence? Visit Jay Cookingham's website at StrategicFathering.net to explore resources for spiritual growth and connect with a community of men on the same journey. Don't forget to download your free copy of Jay's book to kickstart your journey toward a life of faith, healing, and leadership. Tune in now to discover how you can lead like Jesus and transform your world! “Forgiveness is the key to freedom—it's a choice, but the work is a process.” Learn more about Jay Cookingham through the following links: Website Learn more about Tim through the following links: Facebook Podcasting group

My guest Jay Cookingham, shares his story of suffering emotional, verbal, physical and sexual abuse as a boy from his father. This happened for 10 years between the ages of 7 - 17. Jay gave his life to Jesus at the age of 7, and this is the same time when the abuse became worse. When he was 17, he was about to commit suicide alone in a forest, when he heard the voice of God say "Don't". At the age of 19, the Lord supernaturally helped Jay show kindness and forgiveness to his Dad. Jay is now a pastor, author, conference speaker and father of seven. Jay also talks about the passing of his wife of 37 years back in December 2019. Jay recognizes and preaches the goodness of God, even when life is at its worst.
