Un autre podcast qui vaut une écoute et qui arrive à point on dirait! Renaud Phaneuf est thérapeute (massage et accompagnement émotionnel) et un Montréalais engagé à construire une communauté d'entraide, de justice sociale et de santé. Pendant la covid Renaud a contribué différemment qu'on peut penser ou entendre dans les grands médias; il a accueilli chez lui 4 personnes à des moments différents qui étaient en situations de crise pour différentes raisons. Il a aidé ces gens à passer au travers...de façon invisible, mais si importante. Nous avons discuté ensemble de la Santé Globale; dans l'ère dans laquelle nous sommes, il est tellement important qu'on se pose la question sur ce qu'est la santé...et comment se la réapproprier sans attendre les solutions gouvernementales ou du marché. Aussi, on a touché à un sujet qui est presque tabou de parler: la vaccination. On n'a pas pris position pour ou contre, là n'est pas le but, d'ailleurs c'est peut-être le problème ! On a simplement discuté de questionnements éthiques autour de cette industrie et de l'économie qui en découle...espérons que ça alimentera votre réflexion sans vous braquer ! Renaud a aussi parlé de son propre cheminement pour évoluer et dépasser ses propres blessures et croyances limitantes (que nous avons tous !) et comment ce la l'aide à être encore plus au service des autres au quotidien comme thérapeute et humain ! On peut recevoir beaucoup d'inspiration d'une initiative originale de Renaud pour aller à la rencontre de personnes de d'autres communautés que la sienne qu'il désirait connaître. Sa curiosité et son intention sont réellement inspirantes et impressionnantes... il a mélangé; fête, musique et massage pour aller à la rencontre de personnes racisées ! This is the seventh edition of Free City Radio podcast, which features a series of interviews, audio notes and music. In this program we begin with a musical piece by Karl Pricot, who is a drummer in Kalmunity, this is a piece recorded at Karl's home studio. Then we feature an interview with Kholoud Hussein, a Palestinian community organizer and medical worker who lives in Borj El Brajneh refugee camp in Lebanon, Kholoud speaks about the efforts taking place within the refugee camp to combat the spread of the pandemic within the economically and medically vulnerable Palestinian communities of Lebanon. Starting from her younger days as a dancer and through her journey as a singer/songwriter, Sam I Am has made a splash in the city, nationally and abroad. Presently, she teaches Hip Hop and Waacking at Urban Element, she is a Youth Worker at Chalet Kent and has been a part of Kalmunity for many years. Sam I Am’s focus is not only about expanding her artistry in music performance but about community building; she is involved in the collectives Loop Session WXMN and Femmes Phenomenales. With her own event “Let It Go” happening on January 31st, the first of the 5:20intheAM series, she shares how important it is to create spaces for culture to flourish.
