In this Abounding Love podcast episode #208, I share how Jesus came preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom [Mark 1:14-15], which is the Kingdom of love, light and life. It's the Kingdom we now live in as born-again believers. Jesus told folks to repent [turn from sin to God] and believe the Gospel because the Kingdom of God is present. He didn't sugar coat it, but told them that all mankind were sinners, living in the kingdom of Satan in this world. They needed to repent and abandon the worldly, satanic kingdom to come into the Kingdom of God. All the great evangelists follow the same model. Billy and Franklin Graham, Greg Laurie and Chuck Smith always start their messages informing folks they are sinners in need of a Savior. To get the only Savior, Jesus, all of us had to repent and believe, which is the only way to become empowered by the Holy Spirit, to come out of the kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of light, love and peace. We are called to be ambassadors for the Kingdom of God. That's a great honor! Join me in this message to help you be a better ambassador. Selah! We are back in the Gospel of Mark for Easter Sunday studying the event that changed everything, The Resurrection of Jesus and how it should change our lives as Christians.
With gentle wisdom, Jesus flips conventional thinking upside down: "If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all." This revolutionary principle challenges everything our achievement-oriented culture values. Rather than condemning his followers, Jesus waits for the right moment to redirect their understanding, demonstrating how God often allows us to walk our misguided paths before bringing loving correction. The lesson deepens when Jesus embraces a child – someone without status or influence in first-century society – declaring that welcoming such marginalized individuals means welcoming both him and the Father. This profound connection between serving the "least of these" and serving God himself remains one of Christianity's most challenging and transformative teachings. How might we apply these countercultural principles in our lives today? Where are we seeking status instead of servanthood? Whom are we excluding that Jesus would welcome? Join us as we continue exploring how Jesus challenges our deeply ingrained notions of greatness, belonging, and kingdom work.Support the showThank you for listening!! The religious leaders of the day are furious but Jesus uses these moments of opposition as opportunity's to teach about Gods heart and intentions for the Sabbath. This leads to a greater understanding of the intentions and heart of God for all of humanity.
Today we study Mark 2:1-12 as Jesus heals a paralytic man and forgives his sins through His authority. We identify 4 different people groups in this passage and determine who we may identify with. The Paralytic who is desperate for Jesus' authority. Who are you as it relates to Jesus' authority?

Welcome Back! In the first message of the year, Ben, one of our Pastors opened up our new series walking through the Gospel According to Mark. Simultaneously, through Mark 1:1-8 we learned what kind of ministry we aim to be: 1. We are to be messengers that point to Jesus, 2. We aim to live and call others to live righteously, 3. We want to cultivate community that brings people closer to Jesus, 4. We believe our lives should look different in God's Upside Down Kingdom and 5. We believe that life change happens by the power of the Holy Spirit.
