This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE!Graveyards are meant to be places of rest—but what happens when something connected to them is moved? When Becca and Lynn Thomas came across headstones stored inside a woman's shed, the discovery raised more than just questions about their origin. It opened the door to a deeper conversation about whether objects tied to burial sites can carry something with them. They share the details of that encounter, the experiences that followed, and how it changed their perspective on the connection between physical remains and the paranormal. Along the way, the discussion turns to the idea of lingering energy, attachment, and whether certain items linked to the dead can continue to hold a presence long after burial. It's a look at what happens when the boundaries between the physical and the paranormal may not be as separate as we think—and what can follow when those boundaries are disturbed.#paranormal #hauntedobjects #graveyard #ghoststories #paranormalactivity #spiritattachment #supernatural #haunteditems #unexplained #paranormalpodcast #thegravetalks Love real ghost stories? What happens when an entire city becomes convinced the dead are being stolen from their graves? And what if the rumor turns out to be both wrong... and horrifyingly right? In this episode of The Box of Oddities, Kat and Jethro uncover the bizarre true story of the Wardsend Cemetery Riot of 1862, when thousands of terrified Victorians stormed a cemetery in Sheffield, England, fearing grave robbers were selling corpses to medical schools. The truth behind the scandal revealed a disturbing burial scheme, public outrage, and one of the strangest riots in British history. Then, travel from a Victorian graveyard to the freeways of Los Angeles, where a frustrated artist secretly installed his own highway sign to fix a dangerous traffic problem. For months, nobody noticed—and the unauthorized sign may have helped save lives. Was it vandalism, public service, or a brilliant act of guerrilla urban design? From resurrection men and cemetery conspiracies to stealth infrastructure and accidental civic heroism, this episode explores the strange intersection of fear, ingenuity, and the unexpected ways ordinary people can change history. The Box of Oddities is a podcast dedicated to the weird, the wonderful, and the wildly true. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Remember when you'd get a newspaper to feel smart and informed and just go straight to the funny pages to gab with Garfield, chat with Cathy, and umm, see whatever the heck Family Circus was up to? We remember! Reading these informed our future tastes and helped evolve our sense of humor before life got too grim (and stopped being so Mother Goose). Jake takes us on a walk through the history of newspaper comic strips and we all namedrop a ton of favorites and some real forgettable crap. Yeah, there's a very obvious reason these things died. RHLSTP #610 - Cake in a Graveyard - Richard is excited about the breaking news (at time of recording). Broken years ago by this podcast and treats the audience to his poem about the disgraced Randrew Andrew. His guest is a woman with a life that feels like it has been moulded by Greek Gods fighting with a genie, the very open and frank and incredible Jameela Jamil. And she is not alone. She brings two further guests, one of whom has been vomiting blood. All in a day's normalcy for Jameela. They discuss he brilliant podcast Wrong Moves with Jameela Jamil, kicking a stunt man in the dick, running into a force field with a cake, the bee-based car accident that nearly killed her, but led to the best year of her life (she claims), the lies she's told to get jobs and the incredible and unbelievable truths that have accompanied her on her journey, how a school bully led to her becoming an actor (but long after they'd left school), her imminent 40th birthday, how our respective gigs for Elton John went, an incredible story about paying for someone's IVF that should completely be a sitcom and how Richard might just be a peripheral side character in the simulation that is Jameela's impossible life. This is up there with Brian Blessed, but I think this time, it's all true.Listen to Jameela's podcast Wrong Turns here (or wherever you get your podcasts) - https://open.spotify.com/show/48QtcFDDyQzKIc4B0fo4V7Listen to the full unredacted Sofie Hagen episode here (Randrew Andrew chat begins around 1:08:00) - https://open.spotify.com/episode/7rKIkLAmgEOtOrbpNJVZ6hCome and see RHLSTP live - http://richardherring.com/rhlstp. "The idea graveyard isn't proof of my failure. It is proof that I am alive and creative."Every creative has one. The half-finished projects, the abandoned plans, the supplies still in the bin with the tags on. We just don't talk about it.In this episode, Lisa gets honest about her own graveyard, the costumes, the felting disaster of 2021, and the shed full of marketplace furniture, and flips the script on what it all actually means. You'll walk away seeing your unfinished ideas not as proof you're flaky, but as memorials to your curiosity and every time you had the courage to ask what if.What's in this episode:[00:00:30] What the idea graveyard is and why we all have one [00:01:00] Lisa's costumes, the felting disaster of 202, and the shed [00:02:30] The shame spiral that comes with an idea graveyard [00:03:00] Why your graveyard is evidence of growth, not failure [00:03:30] What abandoned ideas actually teach us [00:04:30] Reframing unfinished projects as memorials, not mistakes [00:05:00] When it's okay to let an idea rest in peace [00:06:00] Why creators have more ideas than they'll ever execute [00:07:00] The challenge: stop hiding your graveyard and honor itIf you've ever walked past an unfinished project and felt that little sting of you never follow through, this episode is going to feel like a deep breath. For full show notes, resources, links and to download the transcript, visit our website: https://themilkyway.ca/podcast/

The Norse settlement of Greenland, founded by Eric the Red in approximately 985 AD, provides a poignant and sad look at the final chapters of the Viking Age. Excavations at the Herjolfsness graveyard at the southern tip of Greenlandhave yielded extraordinary organic material preserved by the permafrost, including the clothing of the last inhabitants. These garments, such as a patched and coarse woolen dress, reveal that by the 15th century, the Greenlanders were no longer high-status people and had become increasingly isolated from the broader Norse diaspora. The settlement struggled as the climate cooled, while the Inuit people, who were better adapted to the Arctic conditions, thrived and moved further south. Artifacts like small wooden figures found in the region suggest interactions between the Norse Greenlanders and the Inuit populations. The final historical records of the colony are remarkably personal, documenting a witch burning in 1407 and a wedding in 1408. In the case of the witch burning, a man named Kolgrim was executed for allegedly using witchcraft to seduce a married woman. These events represent the last known activities of the Norse in Greenland before they vanished entirely, leaving behind only ruins and memories in the ice. 8/81630

It's a place Jesus wasn't supposed to go—and we don't exactly know why he was there. But we know who he encountered and what he did. We know because everyone talked about it. How could they not? Graveyards, madmen, broken chains, and, of course, the 2,000 dead pigs. You may have skipped over this encounter in your reading of Jesus' story; yet, lean in and listen closely, and you'll discover a story of evil and freedom. First time listening to our podcast? Eleanor Barraclough offers a poignant look at the Norse settlement of Greenland, founded by Eric the Red in 985 AD. At the Herjolfsness graveyard, well-preserved organic material reveals the coarse, patched clothing of 15th-century inhabitants, indicating their isolation and decline. As the climate cooled, the Norse struggled while the Inuit thrived, with the final records including a witch burning in 1407 and a wedding in 1408 — the last known activities before the colony vanished. This week Sheba and I are exploring the site of the abandoned graves that used to be part of the Central State Hospital also known as the Lakeland Asylum. I decided to do this today because I started my first of many EMDR therapy sessions this past Monday and wanted to reflect a bit on how appreciative I am that mental health treatments have come so far in this part of the world. PTSD, Bipolar, and ADHD are a hell of a mixture to live with every day and I'm glad I can get treatment and go home afterwards instead of have to spend my time in a hospital. I also share some brief Bicycle Day history and thoughts before going back to hang out with Cactus Carl in the Cactus Creation Tent! We're seeing a lot of growth on that side and I am grateful to have infinite cactI!Support the show

Novelist Emma Pei Yin ran away from Hong Kong as a teenager to start fresh in Australia. But she found herself repeatedly drawn back home whenever she put pen to paper.Emma grew up in England and Hong Kong. But her life in Hong Kong wasn't so much about the neon skyscrapers as it was about her family's ancestral village, tucked away in the New Territories.Emma spent her school holidays there with her grandparents, learning how to take care of the family cemetery and joining in Chinese Festivals.Sometimes her grandfather would share his memories of the Second World War, when the Japanese military invaded and occupied Hong Kong.As Emma became into a teenager, her relationship with her parents deteriorated. She eventually decided to leave them and Hong Kong, coming to Australia to make a life for herself as a writer. But whenever she wrote, Emma found herself drawn back to Hong Kong; to the hundreds of islands, the fishing villages on stilts, the mountains, woodlands and beaches – all the things that tourists who think of Hong Kong as a city of neon lights and free Wi-fi don't know about. This episode of Conversations was first broadcast last year.Content warning: This episode of Conversations contains discussion about sexual assault.Further informationWhen Sleeping Women Wake is published by Hachette.Help and support is always available. Right now, with certain key exceptions they are not permitted to just kill and eat people, AT RANDOM, in my humble opinion. Their main modus operendi is gaslighting and terrifying people, via said gaslighting. That whole concept of them getting pleasure out of their victim’s terror, is a warmup to what they will be doing in the future in my opinion. 30-Year Police Veteran One Of Three Witnesses To Report Bigfoot Sighting Near Myrtle Beach Scott Johnson's Teachings on the Anunnaki PDF: Emergency Freedom Alerts 4-6-26 Click Here To Play The Part 3 Audio Source

This one's heavy. We've heard a lot of military stories over the years… but this one stuck with us.Rick served in the U.S. Navy during the late 80s, and during a deployment in the South China Sea, they got a call about a stranded refugee boat. What they found when they got there… was nothing like they expected. There were bodies everywhere. Survivors that couldn't even stand. People so far gone they had to be carried onto the ship. And the part that really messes with you… what those people had to do to stay alive. It's the kind of story you don't forget. But what hit us just as hard wasn't just what happened out there. It's what came after. We talk about the transition out of the military, losing that sense of purpose, and how moments like this don't just disappear when you come home.A lot of guys carry this stuff for years… and never say a word.

During a quiet overnight shift guarding a cemetery, a lone night watchman spotted a pack of stray dogs wandering through the graves—one massive Rottweiler among them. Then a piercing shriek cut through the darkness. Something sprinted across his headlights, and the dogs immediately gave chase. Curious, the guard grabbed his flashlight and followed into the cemetery. But what he found in the beam of his light… was not an animal... Follow Be. A sudden death in a small town has a way of touching everyone, even those who weren't especially close to the person who died. When a high school teacher was killed in a violent car accident over Thanksgiving break, the loss settled heavily over the community. Vigils were held, counselors were brought in, and life eventually moved on — at least on the surface.Days later, one student decided to visit the teacher's grave, hoping for a quiet sense of closure. The cemetery was older than expected, uneven and difficult to navigate, and they left just as daylight faded, convinced nothing unusual had happened. It wasn't until later that night, alone in her bedroom, that the atmosphere shifted. The room went strangely quiet. Her music stopped without explanation. And something moved that shouldn't have.#RealGhostStoriesOnline #ParanormalPodcast #CemeteryStories #TrueGhostStory #Unexplained #Hauntings #Ghosts #ParanormalExperience #GhostStoriesLove real ghost stories?
